First watch the video that shows how this seat works - the snap-off feature is a life saver. I have young boys and their aim is not great, in fact, it's terrible. The old seat was so hard to keep clean and it kept coming loose. This one pops right off so I can easily clean the bowl and I throw the seat in the tub and clean it off. So much easier. It also stays put and doesn't come loose. I liked it so much I immediately ordered a second one for my toilet.

Updating original review to a 5 star. The first week or two the "formed fit seat" did not seem comfortable buttt, :-)) after I got used to it, it actually works a lot better than the previous seats I have used. Now when I sit down on it, it really encourages me to get down to business regarding why I am there to begin with. Far better than the old flat seats I have used in the past. If it had been just a flat seat I would have given it a 5 but, it is a bit form fitted to the way they "think" it needs to sit so therefore I've had to get adjusted to it. Would have been much happier with a plain seat without any curvature to it.

I had purchased a new Kohler Rialto elongated bowl toilet that was supposed to come with this seat. Unfortunately, it did not. So rather than fight over it, I just went to Amazon and ordered it. Here is what I found: 1. The product is very easy to install!! That is a real plus. 2. The seat is a quick release that allows you to remove the seat assembly easily when you clean the toilet. This makes it easy to get to all of those spots that are normally a pain to clean. 3. The seat has a nice slow closure rate that prevents the old toilet lid slam!! Extremely happy with the product and even more so with Amazon for their pricing and delivery!! Would highly recommend this if you are looking for a great seat that is comfortable, easy to install, quiet, and a good value!!!

Bought this to replace a very expensive black laminated wood seat, also by Kohler. Was concerned about this being sturdy enough but so far it's proven to be solid and has held up well. No movement. Installation was a snap. Some reviewers complained about the seat clips coming off or moving. I initially had the same problem but quickly realized that until you pop the clip cover down it will move. The cover is designed to hold the clips in place and prevent movement. Works as designed. Also when you pop the clips up you simply pull the seat forward to remove it for cleaning, very simple.

There are two primary choices in brand for these automatic mousetrap toilet seats. After a thorough and exhausting period of use for both, we have replaced them to all to be Kohler. The K brand is plastic, the other is wood. One would think the other brand is better, but this one just fits better, in every functional manner. Either brand is better than the old slammin' seat, but the Kohler is the one to get.

We were concerned, at first, because our bowl measurements weren't adding up to the recommended length on this toilet seat. We have a Kohler bowl, but it measures about 1/2 inch shorter than this seat. We didn't want it overlapping that would look awful. The seller encouraged us to buy this and try it (or they would, of course, refund the cost) and it fit perfectly. It closes slowly and very quietly (silent actually). Highly recommend this seat. 1 more added note: I can sit on the top lid and it doesn't buckle like my old seat did and I weigh around 195lbs.

Quiet close means no slamming of the toilet seat ever again! The beauty of this elongated Kohler toilet seat is that I like it so much that I bought it again even though it's not going on a Kohler toilet. The fit isn't exactly perfect, but it's close enough that I don't even notice. I had gone through a renovation and the contractor bought this toilet seat by accident. He put it on my non-Kohler toilet because he didn't have anything else that would fit. I was very impressed with the quality of the seat and the Quiet Close aspect of it. That was 4 years ago. Last week, my 13yo flopped down on it and accidentally broke it. I think he was trying to avoid a fall and broke the lid by accident. Not wanting to experience a different seat, I went onto Amazon and bought what appeared to be the exact replacement. I love it. It's solid plastic, has a quality feel, and is highly recommended for it's Quiet Close feature.

I get frustrated with American companies and especially those who make their products domestically because they don't market their products sufficiently. This product is made in USA, yet it doesn't say so anywhere on the packaging. There should be a giant American Flag on the box with PROUDLY MADE IN USA written over it in my humble opinion. The other thing that I can't believe is that I purposely bought these for the quiet close feature or mine didn't really need replacing. It does not say anywhere on the packaging that these are quiet close seats, which is a very nice feature. Anyway, excellent product and you'll love the easy remove feature for cleaning! It is so cool to be able to simply flip up the fastener covers and pull the seat off to clean the back of the toilet. I hope Kohler reads this and has a meeting in their marketing department so choosy people like me don't have to research my behind off to shop for quality products.

I have had my 3 Kohler Wellington K-4504 toilets now for 30 years. I have been extremely satisfied with them, but like all toilets - the seats, or more likely, the cheap plastic tightening screws eventually break. This is usually caused by the seat not staying firmly in place, and wanting to slide sideways. That is what happened more than once with each of my toilets over time. Prior to Amazon, and being able to order exactly what I was looking for, I ended up buying "look-alikes" at the local hardware store - that did not look like the original. They eventually broke as well. So the time came again where I needed to replace one of them. But NOW, with the newer "close slowly" seats, PLUS being able to order an EXACT color-matched seat made by Kohler - I ordered this model to try it out. Not only did it perfectly match the Almond color of the toilet, but amazingly stays firmly in place when sitting on it. There is something about the silicone (or what ever they are made from) pads you install on the seat that really adhere to the porcelain toilet. I weigh 250 pounds currently, and would have to really twist and wrench myself around to try and make it move. It really stays firmly in place. It was absolutely simple to install. Takes about 10 minutes - where I spent more time cleaning the surface from the prior seat being in place than it took me to mount the new seat. The new one has steel bolts and very clever self-seating washer lugs that fit up into the mounting holes. You could literally mount the seat blindfolded it's so easy! I was skeptical of the plastic snap-in mounting brackets at first, but they really hold the seat firmly in place. I like the ability to simply pull the seat out to clean underneath it, then snap it back in place when done. - And I LOVE the slow-closing seat and cover! After testing it for about a month, I liked it so well, that I bought 2 more and replaced my other toilets with these brand new, matching seats! …… It's these "little things" in life that make all the difference! :-)
