All of the babies enjoyed it
While purchased for my 8 month old grand-daughter, there were 2 other children of similar age present when she played with this toy. They also seemed to enjoy the sounds and texture of the toy. Additionally, my daughter in law appreciated the volume control (and off switch). She REALLY liked the ability to change languages as she has been speaking both English and Spanish to my grand-daughter. Over all, we could not have asked for a more educational "fun" toy for a child this age at this price point.

An instant hit! No issues with alignment of color / sound buttons. Great addition to our baby sensory activities.
This has been on my "baby wish list" for awhile now, and it made it's way into my cart the other day. It arrived yesterday afternoon, and the kids (just under 5 months) already LOVE IT! They smile at her (we call her "Olivia") and hug her to activate the sounds. It's soft and lovely and the sounds are very nice. Our colors and sounds are lined up. Some of the other reviewers mentioned that the sound that says "brown" isn't actually on the brown tentacle. This is NOT the case with ours. They are all accurate. I think this will be a favorite of ours for quite some time!

6 month old loves it!
My six month old absolutely adores this toy. Honestly she almost likes it too much because when she sees it she starts shrieking and bouncing and gets really hyper. Sometimes we have to take it away so she can calm down before getting it back. She hugs it really hard and will wiggle along to the music. It is very easy for her to push the buttons and manipulate the toy. It was definitely worth the cost for how much she loves it.

MY DAUGHTER IS OBSESSED
This toy has kept my daughter entertained for months. I don't know what it is about it but she loves the songs. Oh man, if I make this thing DANCE- watch out! We're headed straight for smile town. I will say when it's low on batteries it starts freaking out and just playing a couple notes or skipping. I was scared it was broken but once I put new batteries in it it was fine.

Engaging toy, good classical music.
I bought this toy for my 5 month old baby boy, and so far he has loved it. I am impressed with the quality of the fabric and sewing; it feels very sturdy even when baby boy is tugging on the legs and gnawing on them. It stands up well to drool so far! I like that it plays classical music, as opposed to some of the more "kiddy" songs that are on many other toys. It also does not sound too tinny. The music does get set off fairly easily, and each song lasts probably 30 seconds, so if you want to stop it early you can just push one of the legs to say a color and stop the full song from completing. It's nice that you can adjust the languages for the colors on each leg, although at 5 months old my baby isn't too interested in that feature yet.

Amazing product and good price!
Bought it as a gift for a one year old baby! I love that this toy is very educational and stimulating. When you press the face of the octupus, it plays tunes from Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart. Each tentacles says different colors and it can also speak 3 languages (English, Spanish, French). The doll needs 2 AA batteries and it's very soft and cuddly.

Washed it
With second baby due soon, my daughter was getting out some toys that had been stored. She was going to throw the Octopus out since it couldn't be washed. Instead I took it home to see what I could do to clean it. I couldn't find anything that said it was machine washable, but I'd had luck washing some other toys so decided I didn't have anything to lose. After making sure the batteries were out, I put it in a mesh bag and washed it on a delicate cycle. I put it on top of the a/c floor vent to dry. The next day I put the batteries in and it works perfectly fine. It came out looking new. If your alternative is throwing it away, give washing a try.

My granddaughter changed my mind.
My daughter in law put this toy on her baby registry and, though I didn't find it particularly appealing, I bought it for her. As it turns out, it is a big hit for my granddaughter now that she is almost four months old. She starts smiling the minute she sees the octupus' face (must be something in his eyes) and she attentively listens to every sound effect he produces. Seeing her enjoyment, I have revised my original opinion and find him adorable.

So much for so little. Appeals to all.
This was purchased for my four month old grandson. As he has become aware he loves to gaze at the colors and sounds. However his four year old sister is sharing it with him. She has learned her colors in Spanish and French now. She's a very advanced four year old and can't wait to teach her brother everything. Finding a great quality toy that is educational is pretty easy. But to find this for $13 was an incredible value. My daughter had not seen one before and thought it was $29 or more. Nice quality, not too over the top, even seemed to appeal to adults hearing colors in foreign speak. Happily exceeded my expectations.

Bought a second one
I just bought this for the second time. Originally we bought it when my son was really little. He absolutely loved it even as he got older and unfortunately it was put thru the washing machine recently. My son was very upset so we got him a new one. This one is a bit different than the one we bought a few years ago. The original one had multiple colors on the bottom and this one just has the gold color but all in all still love it
