Bought this for my fiance for Valentine's day. She is lactose in tolerant and loves Dole Wip from Disney..... I am kind of Dole Wipped out from over consumption, but she is still going strong. There is a comment further down in the string that is absolutely crucial to make the product.... we added a little pineapple juice to give it a stronger flavor. My fiance says that it is not as a cold and doesn't have the ice crystals. Other than that, it tastes exactly the same using the Dole Soft Serve Mix. I might try to turn my freezer down to a lower setting and see if that helps. Here in the near future, I will get to try some real ice cream in this little guy. By the way, this thing makes a lot of Dole Wip in one batch. You are looking at 15-20 servings.

This machine is awesome! My girlfriend and I are both 68
This machine is awesome! My girlfriend and I are both 68...no kids, or grandkids, anywhere to be found, but we make ice cream usually twice a week! It works perfectly everytime! Way better than any store bought ice cream. Easy to clean and maintain...would recommend to anyone that likes ice cream!

I would recommend this machine!
This machine does work and I love it! When I received it I opened it up and washed the bowl and put it right in the deep freeze. I also bought the extra bowl and did the same with it. I did not get the chance to try it until the next night so the bowls were in the freezer over 24 hours. As other reviewers recommended I mixed my ingredients together and put the bowl in the freezer just while I was getting the machine ready with the frozen bowl. After 12 minutes it was still too loose. After another 4 minutes it was perfect. I used the chocolate recipe from the booklet that came with it and man is it fantastic! I am still amazed how good it is! My grandson and I had a small bowl and the rest I put in a Rubbermaid container and in my side by side freezer because it's not as cold as my deep freeze. I had some more today and it's still wonderful. Of course it's a little harder from being in the freezer but is excellent. I am going to try the strawberry recipe next and I can't wait! I would say that a very cold freezer is vital. Mine runs at zero. But it's for sure a keeper! Clean up was very easy. I just put all the parts in the dishpan in warm soapy water. And I put the bowl right back in the deep freeze. I would recommend this machine for sure. Nothing like fresh ice cream with all natural ingredients.

LOVE IT!
I followed the recipe for vanilla soft serve exactly as is and it came out GREAT! I left the bowl in the freezer for 2 days and the mixture in the fridge overnight, and let it mix in the machine for about 35 minutes before serving. It was VERY thick, just perfect.

Put the freezer pot in freezer for several days , worked so well. Will get more freezer pots for back up..
Love , love it! After several tries... and freezing the pot for several days.. the Orange creamsicle Sherbet was so good! Today was Husbands Birthday and that is his fav. So glad it turned out perfect.....stayed cold in the pot for awhile after turning it off.... and it also thickened up. I will be buying several freezing pots to stay in freezer. I did not wrap plastic around pot when freezing. The clean up is so easy. I rinse the freezer pot out with cold water.. and place back in freezer... Children loves it. I love it .

Totally worth the money
Great product! 1st batch was a total success and simple vanilla tasted excellent. I read the reviews and followed others advice. I froze the bowl for over 48 hours and it took about 25 minutes to get a perfect cone. Next time I will freeze my mix for 20 minutes to see if it will speed up the process some. I look forward to trying the other recipes. The chocolate was also awesome! Freeze the leftovers in your own container and enjoy! They are almost like a gelato, I love the texture! It's between a hard ice cream and soft serve. Freeze or chill your ingredients to reduce your wait time

Best ice cream maker I have ever owned.
Best ice cream maker I have ever owned. Works great. Just make sure the bowl is kept in the freezer for 24 hrs before using and all the ingredients are good and cold. After preparing the liquid mixture of ingredients, return to the refrigerator for 30 minutes. It takes 20 minutes for a full load to reach serving temperature. It has worked flawlessly ever time and clean up is easy. No crevasses for food to become lodged in. Excellent design and quite affordable. If you are having larger gatherings then purchase a second freezer bowl, or since they are not that expensive, a second unit.

Make your own Disney Dole whips at home.
I bought the Cuisinart ICE-45 Mix It In Soft Serve machine for the sole purpose of making my own Disney Dole Whips at home. After some research, I found that the Dole Pineapple Soft Serve mix is the exact stuff that Disney uses in the parks. The only problem is that the bag is intended to be mixed all at once and not in small portions. I used 2 1/3 cups of water and 1 1/3 cup of mix to make a quart of Dole Whip which just fits into this machine. Chill mix for 30 minutes before pouring into the soft serve machine. For optimal freezing, I keep the freezer bowl in my deep freeze and leave it there until I'm ready to make some ice cream. Regular freezer/refrigerators don't get as cold as the deep freezes. After 20-25 minutes in the Cuisinart - I have the perfect texture for soft serve ice cream. I made the mistake of turning it off once and the ice cream got so hard that the machine would not restart. I also have tried the Frostline Chocolate and Vanilla soft serve and was very impressed with those mixes (1 cup mix, 1 3/4 cup water). I should try my own home recipe one of these days but the mixes are cheap and very easy. I don't care to use the "mix it in" feature of this machine. It works, but its easier to just sprinkle toppings by hand and some toppings get too hard to eat.
