I really researched Belgian waffles after taking care of my grandchildren and they used one and they were delicious. My problem with the most common kind is the amount of space they take up in your cupboard. After finding this one and reading all the reviews I decided this was the one I would get. I did notice that there were a few reviews stating a couple of not positive things. 1. That the waffles needed to be used a few times before getting best results and 2. That the timer was a waste of time. my experience has been that the waffles made perfect waffles out of the gate and I love the Timer! I am a multitasker and am. Very busy cooking many things at once because of a large groups of people I cook for so the timer is essential for me. I found a fully loaded waffle took 3 minutes for perfection.. Also in regards to type of mix I would say that the plain old krusteez pancake mix was where I feel we got the best tasting waffles. I did try the Belgian waffle mixes and determined we like the plain pancake mix best. Light airy and I didn’t have to add egg and oils like I had to with the waffle mix. I did try the. Kodiak mix but it completely sticks and since you can’t use Pam on the surface I won’t use that again unless I find some more information on how to keep it from sticking.. This waffler works as well as the giant ones that have the huge stands. The waffles are about 2 inches thick, beautiful golden, crisp on the outside and tender in the middle, PLUS it take up so little room in my pantry! This is a. Winner all the way around!

Excellent Belgian waffle maker! We've had a Presto griddle for years, and it's truly my favorite kitchen 'thing. We use it at least once a week and it still looks and work like brand new. So when we wanted to upgrade from our old Farberware (sqaure, thin waffles) non-flip maker, I checked to see if Presto had a Belgian waffle maker, and found this. Used it for the first time this morning and YAY! Followed the recipe in the instruction booklet and the flavor was meh- will use a different recipe or a mix next time, but the waffles were thick, fluffy and so easy to make! No stick, deep pockets for butter and syrup, and just, yay! Thanks Presto.

This waffle iron was a great choice to replace my previous one. I love that it can be stored upright, it makes waffles fast, and I have had no problems with clean-up. I've been giving it a light spray of coconut oil once before I start cooking and I don't need to keep spraying every time I pour a waffle. After four minutes my waffles come out easily and are a crispy brown golden piece of deliciousness on the outside with a soft cozy inside. At 1 minute remaining it even gives you a courtesy heads up that the waffle is almost ready. How nice. I love that I can prepare other breakfast items while the waffle cooks because I know that this waffle maker is going to make an almost perfect waffle every time. I'm very happy with it.

Yes, I can make Belgium waffles now! I still need to work on a from scratch recipe, but this turns out great waffles with either Stonewall Kitchen Farmhouse Pancake and Waffle Mix or Carbon's Golden Malted Pancake and Waffle Flour Mix -- I like both over other mixes. I can get the crispy outside and soft inside just like at a restaurant. My family was impressed but I drove them crazy as all I fixed for a couple of weeks I had the waffle-maker was different kinds of waffles with different toppings and fruits and foods. I like the thin profile vertical storage as well. And it is true that you really cannot overcook your waffles. Setting the waffle maker timer at 4 minutes seems perfect. And do not overfill - makes a sticky mess. 1/2 cup of batter seems to work fine. Lightly oil before the first use; then no need after that.

Let me preface my review by stating I have been making waffles since I was a young boy more than 60 years ago. During that time, I have used several different waffle makers of different design and materials. including my longtime favorite (a heavy heirloom Toastmaster from the 1960's which finally succumbed to electrical failure about 10 years ago). During my post-Toastmaster era I purchased several waffle makers but none had matched my Toastmaster for consistent heat control, cooking uniformity and quality of materials - that is, until I purchased this Presto #3510. The very first time I used the Presto it produced a golden-brown waffle (see picture above on left) which, although visually pleasing, required some tweaks to the recipe (slightly more vegetable oil and milk to the batter) to achieve a crisper exterior while retaining the chewy interior texture that I prefer (see picture above on the right). In addition to making consistently perfect waffles, the diameter of the waffle fits perfectly on a mid-size plate while the deep grid pattern retains the ideal complementary proportions of butter and syrup for a fully satisfying serving. Perhaps one of the most practical features of this Presto is the durability of the ceramic grids and the ease of clean-up with a damp cloth once it cools. And best of all - no more messy over-flows as the well-designed reservoir around the outer edge captures any excess batter from an over-zealous pour! Although I purchased my Presto just a few months ago, its reliable performance has already given me tremendous pleasure and promises to continue to deliver quality for many more years than I experienced with my cherished Toastmaster.

This little gadget is crazy-good! Don’t use spray or oils on its cooking surface. Preheating takes maybe 3 minutes and when it’s ready, a red light goes off. I used a cup of batter for each waffle and had no overflow. An independent timer can be used (on its handle) but I didn’t need it...I used the “watch-the-steam” technique. When the steam escaping reduced, I opened the top and there sat a golden brown, perfectly shaped waffle. I used plastic tongs to lift it and that could not have been easier. I am loving this ceramic surface! After making several waffles and letting the unit cool, I wiped it down with a damp cloth and stored it in its locked upright position till the next time. This is easier to use than the big ones at hotels.

I love love this product. My 9 year old daughter and I make chicken and waffles and they come out so delicious we joke around and say "roscoes house of chicken and waffles who?" Lol. It's easy peasy, it's even easier when you read and follow instructions. I would've paid a whole lot more for this but I'm sure glad as heck I didn't! We will never eat at another house of chicken and waffles again! We get creative and festive with it by adding fruits and whip cream and all or any desired toppings or sides. And we decided, instead of buying expensive Belgium waffle mix we found a killer recipe online . We haven't perfected it yet but it is still delicious and keeps the money in our pockets! I hope this helps! Happy Belgium waffle making!

** Very Important: Do not use ANY oil on this waffle iron. Do not add oil of ANY type to batter. This will maintain non-stick qualities.** I have used a lot of brands of waffle irons in my life - I am 52. This simplistic waffle iron produces evenly cooked waffles that readily release from the iron, stores in a minimum of space, and is light-weight. I have a waffle recipe that I have improved upon over the years and provide it here for the well-being of all Amazon customers. Enjoy! DAVE'S MALTED WAFFLES 3 Eggs 2 tbsp Vanilla Extract 2 cups Milk 1/4 tsp Salt 1 tbsp Sugar 2 tbsp NonDiastatic Malt Powder (King Arthur brand via Amazon) 1/2 cup Corn FLOUR (Bob’s Red Mill brand via Amazon) 3 cups Buttermilk (recommend Organic Valley brand) 4 cups All-Purpose White Flour 1 tsp Baking Soda 3 tsp Baking Powder In medium bowl, add Eggs, Extract, Milk, Salt, Sugar, Malt Powder, and Corn FLOUR. Mix these very well. Next add Buttermilk and White Flour. Mix well. If necessary, add flour or milk to achieve a light to medium-thick batter. A too thin batter WILL cause sticking. Finally, add the Baking Soda and Baking Powder. Mix well for about 15 seconds. Now pour on that preheated waffle iron and set for 3minutes cooking time. Makes about 8-10 waffles. For PANCAKES, use an additional 1/2 cup of milk. Please share this recipe. If you like, I have a few more recipes you might like. Let me know! DC.

I've used this waffle maker at least 20 times and I think it's great, especially for the price. Some reviews talk about sticking problems, but if you follow a few tips you will not have any problems. 1) Make sure you are using enough fat in your batter. Pancake batter doesn't have enough fat, I suggest doubling it. I use 2 tbl. of oil or butter per batch of 2 waffles. If you use less than that it will stick. 2) Never, ever, oil the ceramic waffle iron. If you do, then you will never restore it's non stick surface 3) Don't bother washing this with soap and water. After use wet a paper towel and put inside after unplugging. It will steam clean then wipe it out and store.

I've always wanted a belgian waffle maker but thought it would be one of those gadgets that I buy and never use. (I'm talkin' to you, instapot!) We made waffles for the first time last night for dinner. BEST WAFFLES I'VE EVER HAD!!! Its SO easy to use. I didn't oil it before the first use, I just kind of wiped it out with a paper towel and went to town with it. I highly recommend watching The Art Professor's video review. It's all you'll need to know how to use this thing. I also highly recommend buying the Carbons Golden malted waffle mix, which is super easy to use and tastes delicious! You should know, a full cup of batter makes the perfect waffle. I can't wait to make savory waffles with this thing! I'll keep you posted about how those work. "Till next time...
