A fun wand. I wasn’t looking for an exact replica. My little one uses it for a flashlight at night to come to our room if he gets scared. I probably would encourage more careful play from my four year old though. It’s a hard plastic that if banged on the side of a table will crack. Ours cracked (not the toy’s fault) but is still funcitonal it just dims and strengthens without the “lumos maximius” spell. :)

We ordered this wand for my son’s birthday present (he’s 6). When he unwrapped it, he was concerned that we not take it out of the box in the house for fear that the magic may destroy something. I assured him he would be able to control the magic and he proceeded. Wow! He squealed with delight when he lit up up the tip with a wave and then it was on. He now runs around the house casting spells and I have to remind him that he shouldn’t be doing underage magic away from Hogwarts, and that he’s still got a few years before he can attend classes there. From a product standpoint, this is a really fun one and it seems pretty solid. The battery door requires an included key to open so that prevents him from getting into the battery compartment. It’s just a fun toy. If your kid is into Harry Potter, I recommend this wand.

Bought it for a Hogwarts cosplay at work for Halloween. Works great! Flick it on! Flick it off! Customers and coworkers loved it and so do I! Make sure the battery compartment is sealed right and you’ll have no problems with it.

My daughter received this as a birthday gift and she absolutely loves it. We didn't want to spend $50 on a wand at Hogwarts in Universal Studios, so this was a great alternative AND it lights up, unlike the expensive ones. The only technical complaint I have is that the light sensor is extremely sensitive, and it turns off and on with any little movement. Seems like a silly thing to gripe about, though, so it still gets five stars. Comes in a nice box with a molded plastic lining to rest the wand in. It's a sturdy material, and I appreciate the dimming function since the light can be a bit intense when it's pointed right at you. It does great for basic spells, decent for transfiguration (our neighbor's cat found out the hard way), but it's cruciatus curse is hit or miss. Stick with avada kadavra and you'll be fine.

My nine-year old is a HUGE Potter fan, and he cried when he took it out of the box. It's packaged really well and looks very expensive. Unfortunately, he's a bit disappointed that his Wingardium Leviosa spell doesn't work for him. He keeps trying to change the pronunciation to see if that's the problem.

It was new ,price was about the Same , as the others. Well packaged, fast delivery. Only thing was,on the box it didn't say it had a switch that made the light brighter as you pressed it, its matched so well i missed it.so I was really pleased to hear from my cousin Kris c when she received one for Xmas from her son Jon c . and it was a wonderful surprise. Now we can wand away. Lol

This was one of my slightly drunk purchases but I wasn't disappointed in the end! I needed a flash light for my backseat passengers in my car- and the light saber isn't bright enough (although hilarious to watch them use to find their seatbelt or phones) so I thought this would make a great substitute. It's just as hilarious and it's incredibly bright too!

I think I paid too much for this wand but my kid loved it at a Potter themed party. It is pretty sturdy and it lights up every time you tapped or waved it around. It has an on/off button but it constantly stayed on unless I tapped it on something. It would have been extra cool and worth the price if it also had sound effects. I wouldn't buy this again because of the price but definitely recommend it if you're a Potter fan.

As many other reviewers have said, this wand is very very touchy and turns on and off all the time. Even so, they are really wonderful for a Harry Potter or Hermione costume, and my kids loved carrying them during Trick or Treat. They were expensive, but I would buy again given how excited my kids were to get them.

This has got to be one of the neatest toys I've seen in a while! We purchased this and the Hermione wand for our two oldest children (aged 7 and 6) who are fascinated with Harry Potter at the moment. My son has read the first book, and they've seen the first three movies. They have asked Santa for costumes, and I've added the wands and can't wait to see them use these! I tried them out in the dark and they are cool!! Even my husband was impressed. I would have loved to have had a toy like this as a child! It will definitely take their imaginations to new heights! I might have to get one for myself so I can play too, lol! The action on this is amazing! A flick or wave with the wrist and it lights right up. You can make it brighter or dimmer by pressing the little (very discreet looking) button, and then flick or wave and it goes straight off. The illumination is really quite good (lit up enough to see in a dark closet), and the battery compartment is well hidden, yet easy to access. Comes in a very nice box and I know my son will love this! UPDATE: The elves brought these early to my kids, as we cannot take everything in the van to my parent's house, so some stuff arrived early this weekend for them...they've been playing constantly with these wands (and the associated costumes) for the last few days. Both children LOVE them, and are getting great play out of pretending to be Harry and Hermione. There is only one flaw with this, that I feel the company who makes them should address. There is no way to actually turn these off without unscrewing the base and taking the batteries out. This becomes a little frustrating when they are ready to put them away in the cases, as any slight bump or knock turns the light back on. If the company would come up with a way to have a very small switch/button to slide or press to turn the power off, then they would not have to be so careful about so gingerly placing the wand down. This doesn't detract from their play, but would be a nice feature as they would not have to worry about this particular issue. Other than that, we're really very happy with these, and I am having fun playing with them with the kids as well! We do love the sensitive action on these, because all you have to do is flick or wave it and the light reacts...it's fab!
