These are simple plastic downspout extensions. They have two different sized ends, and just slip on. The smaller rectangle shape fits my downspouts perfectly. They are long enough to get the downspout water out some distance from the side of the house. There is not a lot of rainfall where I live, but when the storms do come they are torrential. My gutters empty into solid framed flowerbeds and the flowerbeds are repeatedly flooded to the brim by the storms. These extensions routed the flood of water out past the flowerbeds and into the lawn area, where it spread out and was absorbed more readily. At the end of the season, I just slipped these off, gave them a good cleaning, and stored them away to be ready for the next rainy season.

I used this extension solely for its flexible pipe feature. I had no desire to use the downspout connectors on the thing, mainly because I found the sizes to be far too sloppy for my tastes. A 2x3 drainpipe flops around inside the receptacle. Instead, I wanted to attach a Flex-Drain 53102 2x3 downspout adapter to the end of this long pipe, and two, leaving the 53102 jutting up from the soil to receive my downspout. The 53102's downspout receptacle is a much tighter fit around a 2x3 downspout, grasping it firmly, which I preferred for my house. Once you cut off each downspout from the end of the 85010, you're left with a connector that will fit into either the inside of a 4" corrugated pipe, or the outside of a 3" pipe. I've tried and verified the former, but not the latter. I then bought a Flex-Drain 55020 female coupler that will join these Flex-Drain male coupling ends. Push them together, and you've got an 85010 at one end and the 53102 at the other end. Connect to your corrugated pipe, stretch and position the assembly to get it aligned for your situation, cover with dirt, and you're done. Flex-Drain alludes to "underground" use, so I'm assuming that it won't deteriorate when buried. Because a picture is usually worth a thousand words, I enclose a picture of my flexible pipe assembly, annotated for clarity.

I've got a gutter that had the spout emptying right next to my basement door. The door is really old and doesn't seal well, and I was getting water in my basement, which had the sump pump running way too often. This thing is ugly as can be (considering I've got it protruding out into my lawn), but it works great. I don't care if it's fluorescent pink!

Part of downspout on gutter cracked- used this to extend downspout and keep water away from foundation. Extended it myself- took a few minutes but not that hard to do. Each opening is a different size - smaller size works perfect for what I have. Durable.

Perfect to go from my downspout to my rain barrel. Looks nice, lasts years.

Awesome! Had to order three of these in a frenzy and hurry before Hurricane Irma wreaked havoc on us and cause flooding from the massive downpour we were getting. We realized at the last minute that our 11 year old ones had holes in them! We recieved these within two days as promised thankfully the day before Irma and they worked perfectly and the same price as locally but in the color we wanted. We painted our last ones to match our house but these blend better next to the house which is a dark terra cotta Italian color and blends nicely with our mulch and shrubs. Very happy!

I had a new drain installed along the back of my house with it draining down the side. This excess water was pooling and eroding the cement. I simply attached this and had the rain water drain into the grass. I did not use any tools to attach it and simply stretched it out full length and attached it to the downspout. I have it between "blocks" as the wind moves it. I have not had to reattach it since installed.

I have purchased several Amerimax Flex-Drain downspout extensions. They are well designed and made of substantial material. Their system for permitting selection of the amount of extension is durable. Once one has set the desired length, the system keeps the length constant without requiring inspection and adjustment. Note: These downspout extensions are not impervious to weed whackers. One of the reasons I have purchased several is because my lawn service technicians have occasionally chewed up the ends with their weed whacker.

I have 4 of these around the house to help move water away from the house foundation during heavy rains and so far so good. They fit our downspouts snugly, so they won't come off due to wind or accidental nudging. While they are quite long, I had one downspout that needed to be extended further than one extension's length, so I took two, squeezed the fat end of the second and stuck it in the fat end of the first (the one that connects to the downspout).

Great arrived quickly. Very thick and sturdy. Maintains the shape you stretch it to and it takes a bit of muscle to pull out the accordion shape but that's a good thing. We live in Florida and just had new gutters put in and the downspouts are great but because the water comes down so copiously it would still run around to an area in front of the lanai. I went to guided in a completely different direction.
