I like to rough up the glued side of the metal ...
I set up squad cars for a living and use this to mount the metal tabs to the windshields for the video camera systems used to record out the front of the car. I can tell you first hand that this stuff works as long as you follow the instructions. 1. Make sure the windshield is at or near room temperature or warmer. This stuff may not set right on a cold windshield. 2. I clean the glass with rubbing alcohol first and make sure it's dry before proceeding. 3. I apply the primer to "one" surface only. I choose to put the primer on the glass since it's easier to put the glue on the tab while it's in your hands. Let the primer dry for 1-2 minutes. 4. Apply 1-2 drops of glue to the center of the metal tab on the side that is going to go towards the glass, then press and hold it to the windshield. It usually adheres to the windshield fairly fast so you should only have to hold it there for up to 30 seconds. Since I reuse the metal tabs in switching camera systems between cars, I like to rough up the glued side of the metal tab with my bench grinder before installation to remove the old glue and to help the new glue stick better. Once the tab is on the windshield, I prefer to wait at least 1-2 hours before I hang anything from the metal tabs to assure the glue has set up properly. FYI - In my younger years I've put the primer on both the windshield and the metal tab thinking it would cure the glue faster, but saw increased fail rates in tabs falling off the windshields. Some of this could be caused by extremely high temperatures during the summer time, but wanted to throw it out there as a caution.

5 Stars for an Awesome Product

Worked like a charm for re-attaching my rear view mirror to ...
Worked like a charm for re-attaching my rear view mirror to my jeep windshield after a particularly *bumpy* offroad expedition. A professional mechanic buddy tells me this is the glue of choice among auto professionals. A few tips: 1) use a sharpie pen to mark the exact desired mirror location on the outside of the windshield; 2) remove every last bit of old glue from the windshield; 3) remove the thumbnail-sized connector from your mirror assembly and glue THAT to the windshield, not the entire assembly (the piece you're gluing to the windshield is literally the size of a dime); 4) it only takes a pea-sized drop of glue to do the trick; 5) after a few hours cure time, slide the mirror assembly onto the dime-sized connector glued to the windshield.

still hanging on
Still hanging in there! I wanted to install a tinted sun strip on my windshield and had to remove my mirror button. When I was finished I purchased this product to reattach the button to the windshield. I cleaned the windshield with good spray can, foam type window cleaner. I parked my car inside, out of direct sunlight, applied the activator as the directions said. One tip, let the felt tip applicator fill with the solution when apply to the windshield several times as you will be putting it on upside down. Then apply the glue, press and hold 60 seconds before you release. Then walk away and let it dry over night before installing your mirror. Mine has been in place for a month now with no problems.

Works as Promised
I used this adhesive to mount an old Vizualogic back up camera in my wife's minivan. In the past I have tried using other adhesives and tapes and nothing worked. Finally, after using this product, the back up camera is permanently adhered to the windshield. I am actually using this adhesive with a plastic mount. It has been over a month or so and the mount hasn't budged.

Works great, like OEM
I am a full time diesel technician. When my mirror fell off on my commuter car, I tried every double-sided tape my local auto parts store recommend and had on hand. Each one fell off after a few days and mirror was always loose. I then looked this up on line, Loctite makes great products, and this worked out perfectly. Mirror is tight like OEM. Make sure and follow instructions, also nice that it is just enough for one mirror, not a large tube with lots of left over. Would buy again if ever needed.

Be ready. It sets quickly.
After fooling around with Gorilla glue and other superglue like products, I finally broke down and bought this. Note that this is not a put down of those other products. I have used them fairly extensively with good results. They are just not intended for adhering a RV mirror to a windshield. This stuff works great. Just follow the instructions and be sure to work with clean surfaces and apply the 'activator' first. Then be ready when you apply the more viscous 'adhesive'. It will set in about 15 seconds or so.

I purchased this beofre paying a glass shop $60 to install it for me and I'm glad I did
Purchased another brand from the local big-chain auto parts store and prepped the area properly. The mirror fell off right away. I purchased this beofre paying a glass shop $60 to install it for me and I'm glad I did. This not only stuck, but now i don't even see vibrations in the mirror is I did with prior to the mirror falling off since i bought the car brand new. ADVICE: after area is clean, lightly sand with 1000 grit or higher. It will seriously help stick, especially if you're sticking it on one of those black material that the button adheres to.

Enough for 2 (please read)
I have been a mechanic for over 20 years. I just decided to order this because it was quick, I was low on time, and it was my personal vehicle. I've used them before, and they are what they say they are. However, this time it didn't stick right away. I followed the instructions on the package, but the mirror fell off in 24 hours. There was enough left in the package that I was able to make a second application, again cleaning the re an whatnot. This time, it worked like a charm. Just as I expect. So if you mess one up, don't panic! It will be ok :)
