High quality in every way. I carry it into the store because I don't want the parking lot to chew up the wheels. My kid loves it. It is also a useful tool for parents that raise their children to follow instructions, because the temptation to run around and act crazy with it is high. So yeah, you'll get some teachable moments. If you are not willing to be engaged with your kid - please don't buy your little angel this toy. We don't use it when stores are at a busy time.

This shopping cart is so realistic it's a bit disconcerting--in a good way. One of my favorite toy purchases ever. It's made of very sturdy metal, solid but not too heavy, the wheels swivel easily (quality castors), and the doll seat opens and collapses smoothly. My 1.5 and 3.5 year olds are crazy for it and despite their height differences, the cart suits both of them and will for some time. The capacity of the cart will hold the contents of one real-world paper grocery bag, or about 180+ pieces of play food (we have a set of 90 pieces, and this fills it half-way)...very roomy but also constructed in a boxy way so it doesn't jut too far forward like a real cart. The cart arrives with minimal assembly required, and it comes with the only tool you'll need (allen wrench). You'll be done in 5 minutes. The cart can only fold up by disassembling it, which is easy enough but again requires the wrench. As mentioned in other reviews, the only downside is the cart's ability to damage furniture. Easily fixed with 2 large pieces of felt (I bought these at a craft store for 30-cents per 8.5 X 11" sheet). I used gray to match the cart, blends away so you don't notice it. I cut the felt into 1- to 2-inch strips, wrapped these around the bars along the front and front corners, and secured each wrap with very thin strips of the same felt, tied in a double-knot. Took about 20 minutes and hasn't come off despite a lot of rough play. I'd buy this again, it'll last long enough to pass on to relatives/friends when your kids outgrow it, absolutely worth the price.

This is awesome. My parent once bought my daughter a bright pink plastic shopping cart, that quickly lost a wheel and made me cringe every time I looked at it...But my 2 year old played with it all the time! I finally replaced it with this and could not be happier! It is nicer than Walmart's real shopping carts :) My 2.5 year old daughter loves putting her stuffed animals in this and cruising them around the house! It was a breeze to put together as well.

Cutest little buggy ever!!!!!!! It is VERY sturdy and made of metal like the real ones! You will love love love this!

This is an adorable little cart for young kids. I really like it, and my 4 year-old uses it all the time. Yes, it will scratch up your walls and furniture if your brutal little monster powers it into things all day, but, really, a normal kid with even a little self control and parental discipline/supervision should do just fine with it. It has nice little stabilizing legs that will hit the ground if anything heavy is placed in the cart, like another kid. There are some comments that indicate that this will tip over if a kid is inside it, but why would you let a kid get into this? It is a really well built cart that should last effectively forever. I highly recommend this toy!

My son loves this but it was missing something that all real shipping carts have, bumpers. So, I went to home Depot and bought the corner protectors, they were supposed to stick but didnt. My husband agreed they were needed so he used zip ties to secure them.

Dear Melissa & Doug. My son is 2 1/2 and has Down syndrome. We have tried walkers and other push toys to help him learn to walk, but because he's so tall, the push toys don't allow him to stand up straight. On the very first time trying your sturdy metal cart, he walked across two rooms of the house. The cart is the perfect height for him. I can't thank you enough for making this product and will be sharing with my mom friends.

My 2 y/o granddaughter has a plastic shopping cart & a wooden cart at her home. One day we were shopping at Target & she grabbed an inexpensive cart. While my daughter shopped, my granddaughter was very content walking through the toy isle filling her cart. The cart was very poor quality and I kept sneaking toys back to the shelf. But Rose was so well behaved I vowed to buy her a quality cart like they have for children at my local food store. The day I opened the box my grandsughter’s eyes lit up like a Christmas tree.. When I take her shopping, this well made and realistic cart will be tagging along in the car. It’s so much easier to shop with a cooperative child who has a smile on her face! Well done again Melissa & Doug!

This is one of the favorite toys my daughter has although it's kept in the mini van so I don't forget it. My 3 year old loves going to the supermarket and she now has a very real-looking cart we take with us. The cart is sturdy, well made and can store things like fruit, milk, a box of cereal, whatever she wants to put in it on that trip. She sometimes zooms in the aisle, pulls herself up and makes sharp turns. The cart has never turned over. She gets lots of compliments and it's very, very cute. There are other options available but this is the most realistic one. So glad I got it. Would buy it again and recommend to others.

For Christmas this year, our 3 year old girl asked for a couple things: Smurfs, markers, and a grocery cart. God only knows why a grocery cart, but we rolled with it; why not. Leading up to the big day, I stopped by that big toy store to check out what they had in stock, and picked up a plastic jobby that came with a few groceries. Seemed sufficient. I returned home with the plastic grocery cart (and a boatload of other things) and proudly showed my wife what I had accomplished all by myself! I expected a joyful response to my good deeds, but was met only with a reproachful glare. "Did you see the Melissa & Doug shopping cart in her Amazon wish list?", she inquired. "I did not, ma'am. Do tell me more of this product of which you speak." As soon as I saw the M&D option, I realized how comprehensively I had failed my child, my wife, and probably everyone who had ever offered me a kind word or the time of day. Without delay, I clicked "Buy it Now" with 2 day shipping. The grocery cart arrived promptly in a box that seemed awfully small for what was supposed to be inside. But lo and behold, the grocery cart smugly emerged, fully assembled, and was of such high quality that I almost puked. The casters (wheels) were of unreasonably high quality, and the metal of the cart itself... URG! I'm getting angry just thinking about how well this thing is made. It's in the kitchen right now, next to me as I'm typing... judging me... Comparing itself to me... Belittling me... Stupid grocery cart. Highly recommended, if you can HANDLE IT!
