What a wonderful invention. Fill the baskets with burning charcoal and push them together for direct heat, and then use the outer circle for indirect heat--a wonderful way to sear steaks uncovered, and then move the meat to the outer circle, cover and cook the insides. Perfect NY Strips every time. Push the baskets to the side, put a drip pan in-between (with a little bit of water) and slow roast ribs or beer can chicken. Wonderful control; wonderful results.

This has to be my favorite accessory for my Weber! Makes direct and indirect grilling super simple and holds more than enough charcoal to get the job done. A 13x9 drip pan fits perfectly between them in my 22.5 Weber making indirect cooking a snap to clean up.

I don’t know why I waited so long to purchase this! This was a huge improvement over my attempts to manual place and stack the charcoal on each side for indirect cooking. A nice bonus: the charcoal burned better, with more consistent heat. After the chimney charcoal starter, my opinion Is that this is the second best companion for better grilling. Like the chimney starter, it’s not required, but it makes for much easier (and better) grilling.

Seriously, do it, you will not regret this purchase. Got a Weber classic kettle for Xmas after living with a Smokey Joe for 5 years. MAN! What a difference! Also, what a crap ton of charcoal when using the standard grate! These little guys allow me to position my coals as needed and fit in the kettle classic perfectly, I like to center them and use the edges of the grill for indirect heat. If I’m not cooking much, I just use 1 so less charcoal is burned. Thought about flipping em over to put one layer of charcoal on them for searing purposes but have yet to try. Anyhow, love em! They are simple, durable, and are saving me a ton of charcoal! GET THEM NOW!

I've never taken the time to actually count, but I'm willing to guess my dinner comes off my Weber grill 150-200 nights a year. I'm no grilling expert or chef by any means, but I do have experience. And I usually pass on buying the accessories. But I'm absolutely happy I spent the money on a charcoal basket. I've noticed myself using less charcoal to begin with, and also having more left over for the next time I grill. I've always been good at saving charcoal by shutting the grill down immediately after getting food off. For the most part, just throw a few new briquettes in the next time and you're good to go. Obviously we all have different grills and tendencies, so take that part however you wish. Is this some game changing accessory, of course not. It's a basket. But, it's a basket that I feel will save you money over time. Even if you're not good at saving charcoal, I still feel like you'll be using less to begin with. Even one of the baskets can keep a 22 inch Weber plenty hot. If you need more surface area for steaks or something then you have both sides. If you only grill occasionally, then it isn't going to do much other than look pretty. But if you're like me and grill on a regular basis then I almost guarantee it will save you money. I can't believe I've spent this much time talking about a basket. Just buy it, and thank me later.

These charcoal baskets come in handy for both indirect cooking and just normal grilling. For indirect cooking, it is nice to use these baskets to separate the area where the charcoals are and place the meat apart from it. However, I also use these for direct grilling as I want some space on the grill grate to rest the meats when the fire gets too hot or just to keep warm - in other words, I use these baskets to isolate the flames to a chosen area and cook there but also have room on my 22.5 inch round Weber to rest meats when the fire is too hot. These baskets certainly help me grill better.

This is the real deal. Heavy duty, and they hold your charcoal for indirect heat cooking in the Weber 22" kettle grill. You really want a Weber chimney to start your charcoal if you are using one of these. Just pour the charcoal from the chimney into these holders, and you are cooking. One bit of warning: the edges of these holders are SHARP. Be careful.

Work very well for indirect heat cooking; I can use just one or both depending on the temperature I want to cook at. My grill is somewhat larger than a 22.5" Weber, being oval in shape, so with both they things are not crowded at all. Using both, if I wish I can hit over 400 degrees with the lid shut and my both my grill's air dampers fully opened, but that's too hot for anything indirect cooking anyway - That's open lid grilling territory. Temperature control at lower temperatures is easy. No signs of corrosion or plating damage after 5 uses. One Big Bounus: using these helps preserve your original charcoal grate.

Great product. Really helps to control the heat when needed and provides an easy clean up option.

Great product. Nice price ($15ish). Works as advertised. Keeps your coals separate for indirect cooking. They are bigger than I pictured. Each one can hold about half of a Weber chimney starter full of charcoal.
