Excellent Customer Service !! For Installation On Generac IQ2000 Generator
I purchased this Hour-Meter after buying one of the JUNK 8 dollar knock off’s that measures in 1/10 of an hour and was useless… After I received this meter I quickly installed it and was unable to get any readings. This is being installed on a Generac IQ2000 inverter generator, this little beast is extremely well made and is super insulated for sound deadening. Simply wrapping the Pick-up wire around the spark plug boot did not work, not because of the meter but the heavy duty insulated spark plug wire and plug boot. I contacted customer service and spoke with Brian who was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, patient and most of all honest! Over the next hour I exchanged several pic’s of the Generac motor to Brian who patiently gave me several other suggestions. Finally we got it to receive the voltage pulse to activate the meter. Stripping the pick-up wire about 1 ½ inches and actually inserting it into the spark plug boot SUCCESS! Customer service like this is unheard of today! Thanks !

You get what you pay for
These may seem expensive but they are of a better quality than usual. In 2008 I purchased 2 hour meters (don't know the brand) and installed them on both my new Polaris 500 Scramblers.(One of them has 6 hours on it!) I can not explain it but they are still alive!!! So one day I am looking for a few hour meters and I find a cheap one around $7. I buy like 8 of them thinking this is a great deal. This was around 4,5 years ago. Not one of them is still around. I was had! They were manufactured with inferior batteries or they were very old. Either way they were shipped out of China. Hardline is engineered and assembled in the great United States of AMERICA! So buy with confidence!

Super easy install... I'll be buying more
I installed on a new quad that didn't even come with one from the factory... that's another story. I could not wait to install it properly before I did the break in on the new quad, so I just tied it in knot around the spark wire just before the plug boot, and it worked like a champ. There is a little icon in the left side of the screen that blinks when it is running, so you don't have to wait 6 minutes to see if it clicks over .1 hours. The unit is sealed and you don't even need to strip the cover off the wire on either end. I did do a more permanent install with wrapping it correctly around the spark plug wire, and securely running the wire to a permanent location under the seat were the unit is now mounted. To clarify, it states "no wiring necessary" but you do have to wrap a wire around the spark plug wire, and you just slip the other end through a hole in the bottom of the meter, it comes out the top, bend the wire over and into another hole in the top, pull tight from below, and your done.

Time counter.
Easy to install, if you don`t make a mistake and let hit the exhaust. After checking their web page I was able to fix the pickup wire and it now works, my mistake. I have only used it once so do not know how accurate it is. As to adhesion, I screwed on. I am happy with it so far.

Hour Meter HR-8063-2
I installed this meter on my Toro SS500, as one of the cost cutting features of this model which made it financially appealing to me was the absence of an hour meter. Given Toro's published price of $90, this Hardline product was irresistible. I zip-tied it into lace under the seat, wrapped the lead wire around one of the ignition wires and fired the Kawasaki up. It worked! I only have 11 or 12 hours on it, so can hardly testify to durability, but given the other reviews, I expect it to last the life of the mower. If not, it cost less than 1/3 of a factory meter, so I can readily replace it as needed.

Perfect for generac home generator
Just what I was looking for! Installed in about 3min on my home generator. Super easy, wrap wire around spark plug cable, started generator and immediately started counting. No longer a guessing game on when to change the oil!

Hardline Hour Meter
It's a little expensive but would rather pay for quality. Installation on my Predator 2000 watt inverter generator was simple. Everything is working as it should. About to purchase another for my larger generator, would definitely recommend.

Awesome
I love these. I have probably 100 of them. At work I buy them for all my generators and other equipment and at home I have them on all my lawn equipment to help better keep track of maintenance intervals. I'm going to start getting the one with the tachometer as well. The other day while using my lawn/ leaf vacuum I bumped the carb adjustment and moved the governor limit all the way open and I want to reset it to the max rpm that's safe for the engine so I ended up buying a handheld tach.

Good quality
I ordered this hour meter to replace an existing one that died after about ten years. This is a little more basic unit that was quite a bit less expensive than what I had before. It Seems well made and installation was easy. Works just fine. Hoping it lasts for a few years. If it does it will have been a good value. Update 11-30-2017. Still working. Good buy.

It just works.
Not much to it. Simply wrap the wire 3 times around a spark plug lead and it works. Note LCD is always on. Battery does not appear replaceable.
