Singer ESP - Stream Press
The Singer Esp-2 has changed my ironing habits. I use to avoid ironing. I was so pleased to see this product really works. My clothes are pressed in half the time. Looks professionally Done. I have enjoyed ironing and wearing the clothes I had not worn, because of the fact I dreaded to iron them. My hands have arthritis and handling a regular iron is way to difficult. Now the stream iron by Singer has changed all that. The iron works great, I have had no problems with the iron. Of course users need to beware it is very hot and safety while ironing should be used while using this iron. The back side does not open as wide as the front you could get burned if not careful. Greatest thing ever for me. I love my clothes again. :))

Great Iron Press from Singer as always
Every 2 weeks I iron my shirts. I have learned many ways to use it and now my shirts are better ironed that dry cleaner company. The plastic label is losing the glue but who cares if the iron works great. The beep to alert when it is time to lift, helped me a lot. The little holes where water sprays leaves some mark on the shirts but its goes away. Distilled water should be used. Do not use other kind or your fabric will be brown or will looks burned. They should install the spray button some place else. Very easy to accidental push during up and down of the press.

Wish I would have found this sooner!
So to be clear, I received this item this morning and took it for it's maiden voyage and pressed 8 mens button shirts & 3 slacks. I work in a white collar job where wearing a button down shirt everyday is required and my dry cleaning was on average about 60-70 / month. I was familiar with ironing shirts /slacks so following that process was easy but the magic steam press made it so much easier/quicker because it irons a much wider area while providing a very near to dry-cleaning look. It also provides ample amount of steam and pressure to get the hardest of wrinkles out of your garments. I know that other people have complained about burning themselves but I haven't ran across that problem due to my setup. My set up is this: I had an extra end table and a desk chair I used. I recommend using a table and not an ironing board as I think the ironing board will be too unstable. This combination put the steam press right at mid chest level and therefore, I'm not trying to push the shirts near the back at an angle that's close the top of the press. I was also able to watch my shows while savings money that I would have spent on dry-cleaning. At this rate, this steam press will easily pay for itself in 4-5 months.

Does the job in half the time
After reading the previous reviews I was slightly apprehensive. My experience has been the pictures used in the advertising did not give you an honest idea of the items' construction, quality of workmanship etc. I also learned from the reviews that it would take a little practice and patience to get the hang of "pressing clothes". For me I spent two hours carefully and slowly learning the ins and outs of the machine. I am glad I did. I do believe the instructions could be re-worded to make some aspects of the operation clearer but over all they are OK. I do the majority of "ironing" in our household. This little machine is worth every cent spent. It has cut my "ironing time" in half. It is very easy to use once you are accustomed to it. It is small enough to fit on a table. It is stable and well constructed. I ordered an extra pad from another company just in case (based on some reviews I read). You don't need an extra pad unless you are burning your clothes on the "table". For me the purchase has been very satisfying overall.

Excellent product
LIFESAVER!!! somehow my "wrinkle free" shirts became wrinkled. No matter how much I ironed them, the wrinkles would not release. I bought this...and the wrinkles came out. It even fixed wrinkled scrubs and work pants. SO glad I opted for this purchase, saved me a ton of money in replacements!

it has sufficient pressure to make a good crease in a pair of pants
it is larger than an iron so it is faster, heats quick and makes a lot of steam. it has sufficient pressure to make a good crease in a pair of pants. I run it a little hotter than I should, but I leave it clamped just a short time. I have found that it does shirts pretty well, but I am not all that skilled and I do sometimes get a wrinkle ironed in where I don't want it. When I do I just steam it out and do it again. I would like to have a professional larger press, but I don't have the room or the money for one. I have used it a few weeks now and it does what I need. it is well built and very portable.

It's equipment. You have to treat it and care for it like a piece of equipment and it'll work as expected.
Works great and I absolutely love this press! I read reviews prior purchasing so I was aware of a few things, but believe them to be more from misuse/lack of care. If you read the directions, you're only supposed to press the steam button for a few moments, let off the steam and THEN close the lid. You're not supposed to steam with it clamped (which I don't think it lets you do), but also don't steam it so much that it "pops" after you close the lid. This means that if you are pressing the steam button for so long that it starts spitting water, then you are not using it correctly. Just a burst as you're approaching the garment with the lid, let off the steam, then close the lid. I did make a new cover and pad for mine to avoid using the included one, which has been said to fail and start staining clothes. I also leave the lid up until it fully cools so any residual water in the clamshell portion is allowed to vent/evaporate to help avoid the apparent rusting that can occur. Finally, a few folks felt it didn't have enough throat space, but I was pleasantly surprise. For the price it is completely sufficient. Also,as far it not opening far enough, I do tend to agree. Again, for the price I can learn to work around it just fine, but also, I've used large, industrial steamers and burned myself on those, too!

My wife and son tell me I'd make someone a great wife since I do their clothes as well as ...
This is my third Magic Steam Press. I owned the 4 and the 7 both of these died a natural death do to old age. I'm ex-military and iron everything except my socks and under ware. My wife and son tell me I'd make someone a great wife since I do their clothes as well as mine. Imagine a investment of a little over $200 dollars that could pay for itself in a couple of months. Dry cleaning costs a fortune and no matter what the sign in the store tells you 'IT IS BAD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT'.Buy cotton and this little gem will save you a great deal of money. It is very easy to use and does not take up much space. It sit on happily on top of my drier. I use it almost every day. It does a bang up job....I tell my wife that we have a laundry room staff (me) just like wealthy people. When my Steam Press 7 died I immediately bought the ESP-2 from Amazon and had it in a couple of days. It is a hit. Digital but still the basic Magic Press that I grew to know and love over and very easy to use. The only caveat I have is that the the location of the off and on button is an invitation to burn yourself. Your first instinct is to turn the unit off by sticking your hand through the open press; almost insuring you burn your hand or arm on the top heating element.. The off and on switch is on the side towards the right hand side at the base of the press. So you need to close the press or reach around the side to turn the unit off. Poor ergonomics since the other 2 presses I owned had the off and on button on top of the press where it, in my opinion, belongs. The second issue I have is that the settings (i.e Nylon, Silk,Wool, Cotton, Linen) are to me misleading. The cotton setting is really too hot for most cotton fabrics (such as shirts). I have used the 'Cotton' setting only for things like denim. I use the 'Wool' setting for most 'light' cotton items (pants/shirts). I afraid to even try the 'Linen' setting. Maybe this is because my last press was old and gradually lost some of its 'heat up and go'. Just be aware of this issue and adjust according to your own needs. Otherwise this press is a wise investment even if you only iron occasionally, because it does a professional job in a very short period of time. I do some picture framing and the unit is ideal for 'flattening' the brown paper used as the backing on most picture frames. I makes putting on the backing a breeze. So there you have it; if you iron order one of these and spend less time ironing and save money on dry cleaning.

Watch the placement of your hands when positioning and removing garments
When the product was delivered, it would not power up. It was packed back up to be returned via UPS and a replacement product arrived before the original was gone! (BRAVO!) I set up the press and have been using it almost daily. It warms up quickly; cools down just as fast; retains a good amount of steam (doesn't have to be refilled as much as I thought). The only "less than positive" comment is not really bad; the pressing lid does not open as wide and high as a commercial steam press does-obviously, so you have to be mindful of where your hands are when placing or removing any garment from the press. I've managed two times to touch the surface of the top plate and burn the back of my left hand/wrist, (operator error). Other than that, I think it's a great deal and an outstanding product. Years ago I purchased an earlier version and used it until it died. I'm sold!
