It does what it is designed for

I used this for the first time to mark the reveal on 2 doors and found it a lot easier than my old eyeball method. I was also able to use the tape measure slots to hand my tape and get a very accurate measurement which reduced the number of recuts. The trick was to use the tape measure body and add the 3 inches after instead of trying to guesstimate the actual reading. Overall, it did what I needed and made my job easier. Best of all, the wife is happy with the results.

Great tool...

After reading all the reviews and watching the video I was on the fence about the Milescraft 8401 Trim45 Trim Carpentry Aid. But for the price I thought I'd try it and in my opinion this is a great tool. I agree with most of the reviews as I had some of the same issue. However, there is a learning curve when you think you know how to use the tool. Once I got pass my " oh, i know how to use this" issue it worked great every time. Just follow the manufacture's video and it works as advertised. Doing it the old way takes longer. Highly recommended...

Great for first timer

Installed my first door casing with the help from this took, made it so much easier for a first timer.

These are a time saving tool.

Great idea that works well. I have another craftsman version that does the same thing and these work very well. You can mark and measure perfect lines. Very helpful!

This jig is a definite time saver and makes for a more precision install. I have made jigs in the past that worked well but over all with all of the alignment points this is far superior to my hand made jigs,
