This small, lightweight and handy little guy has suddenly become the most-used shovel we own! It is easy to throw in the car with the rest of our camping gear and is AWESOME for quickly and easily heaping coals on our Dutch oven, for digging around in the fire pit as needed and arranging the remaining coals to cook over. My son often swipes it and hauls it to the beach and the creek sandbar to dig in the sand to his heart's content. It seems to be showing up at more and more boy scout activities and it's so easy to grab from the garage when you need to scoop up some wandering mulch to put back in place. It's been so useful yet so popular that I'm worried it will "wander off" from our garage since the neighborhood boys enjoy playing with it or using it to dig worms for fishing in the local pond. I just ordered us a second one today because I cannot stand the thought of being without it on a camp out. Also getting one as a gift for my father-in-law who just built himself a beautiful new camp-style fire ring complete with hand-hewed log benches! It's much faster and more accurate at arranging coals than a fire poke. It stows in the back of your vehicle so easily and I forget how I managed before I owned it. Love this shovel! Consider it for your own adventures and as a gift for anyone who camps!

PERFECT for Serious Digging in TIGHT/RESTRICTED Spaces. I needed a stout short shovel to do some digging in a very tight space... a long handled shovel just wouldn't work. I only had 27" of clearance between the ground and the sub floor above. THIS shovel proved to be the perfect tool for digging in tight quarters. Tempered shovel blade is the perfect size and doesn't bend easily.. very rigid and a great prying size if you encounter rocks or roots. The handle is fiberglass, perfect diameter and does not flex, even when prying or using the shovel for leverage. The grip is a polymer, comfortable to grip and feels snug in hand with no movement... though, IF I would suggest an improvement, it would be to make the grip out of wood with metal attachment. Though is has not failed me yet. DIMENSIONS: Tip of handle to point of blade: 27 inches Width of blade: 5 7/8 inches Length of blade from foot rest to tip: 8 1/4 inches Width of handle: 4 3/4 inches I would definitely recommend it to anyone needing to do tough small scale digging or trenching. Need to work in a crawl space, under a deck or porch, this is the best shovel I could find. Very Good Quality.

Just the right size and weight for me. (88 year old woman) This is what I have been needing for a long time.

After reading the reviews with the warnings about the sticker misery, I ordered and prepared to go to war with the sticker. Got out my heat gun, a can of goop remover, cleared a place on my workbench and a half hour on my schedule. I unpacked the box and eyed the notorious label. Looked innocent enough so I peeled the corner back and slowly pulled. THE STICKER CAME RIGHT OFF! They must have responded to the reviews? The spade is great and was perfect for the camp trailer.

We bought two of these for our kids at the beginning of the summer along with a small wheelbarrow. We have an unfinished backyard and the love to make a giant mess. The shovels have been in the yard and exposed to lots of sun, rain, and rambunctious play but are still in almost perfect shape. Days and days of entertainment value. Our yard is full of giant holes (the dog helped too) but our kids were outside almost all summer.

Always take a shovel with you when you go off roading!!! This shovel has gotten me out of sand and mud once or twice already. I keep it attached on the outside of my Jeep to my high lift jack with a U clamp. No rust on it even when living in Florida. Small enough to hide or attach somewhere, big enough for any job.

I purchased this shovel to keep in my Jeep Wrangler to help people stuck in the snow and for a general use camp shovel. It is the perfect size for this purpose. It is small, but very strong and well made. I attached a pic of the shovel next to a couple of size 12 flip-flops to give a sense of the size. It isn't really big enough for any major jobs, but is perfect for a portable shovel or for small gardening jobs. I'm attaching this to the inside tailgate of my Jeep with a JK Jeep Fold Down Molle Tailgate Panel and Original Quick Fist Clamp. This should give a nice stable mounting platform and provide a cooking surface for camping trips. I will update this review with pictures after the panel arrives. Some people had mentioned difficulty with the sticker. I tried to pull it off, but it wasn't coming off easily so I hit it with a heat gun and it came off clean. I'm sure a hairdryer would work as well.

I'm giving this product 5 stars due to the outstanding customer service I received when I received he shovel. In addition, it IS a very well made tool and if you're looking for a SMALL shovel, I'd highly recommend this one. It would also serve as a terrific shovel if your daughter or son wanted to 'work' outside with you or start their own little garden - Hint: getting them involved in gardening early in life can lead to a more enriched life. This all said, if you're looking for a sturdy short shafted shovel with a wide blade, you might find the blade a bit under-sized. Having worked in retail and merchandising, I appreciate the importance of providing accurate product descriptions in print and on-line posts. The information provided in the blade measurement description of the Bond LH015 Mini D HANDLE HOVEL includes the convex/concave portion of the blade versus a measurement straight across the blade. This provides the impression of a wider blade. Generally, customers will measure across the blade and not include the additional inches the curved portion would provide. As a result, when the shovel arrives, they're disappointed to find a smaller bladed shovel than anticipated. Since this particular shovel is listed as being the widest of the shovels offered on the site at this time, adds to the customer frustration. Measurement differences aside, this is a terrific LITTLE shovel for narrow spaces or kids. Additionally, the follow up experience I had with Amazon Customer Service was - as it always is - Best In Class.

had the unfortunate luck of having to dig a hole in my 3' crawlspace... there was no way a normal size shovel was going to work, and I could not have used a little garden spade to dig efficiently. This little shovel is well built and did the job perfectly. Its just the right size and has zero wobble in the spade head. Hit the dirt/rocks hard and didn't bend. What more do you want from a shovel. It doesn't have wifi connectivity...

I'm short and regular shovels are too long for me to handle easily. This one is a real tool, and worked well for me when I was planting shrubs. Update. Someone asked about using the shovel in hard and rocky ground. Here are 2 photos of the back of the shovel, where I think the weakest section is. I have not had any trouble, and feel like it is a sturdy tool. It's been useful for planting fruit trees this summer!
