The sound of gentle fountain water!

My little balcony is my sanctuary! This added portable small fountain is just the perfect focal point. I wanted something small and inexpensive. Granted as other reviewers has said it does not look like the posted photo. But after seeing the posted reviewers photos I wanted the wider bamboo fountain and was hoping I would receive the same. I did! I need to get a longer cord so I can place in further from the outlet. I'm looking for a really nice ceramic planter. The plastic one will do for now. It looks great! Love the gentle sound of the water on my balcony. It is portable so I can store it when the winter freeze comes. The little tiny pump has good flow and is adjustable as is the height of the bamboo spout. The little motor is silent no hum noted. Now let's see how long it lasts! Update: Sept. 4, 2013 Love my fountain! Placed an old ceramic pot with a shallow dish for the water to pour into! Why you ask so the birds can enjoy it like a little bird bath. It was too deep before even though the birds attempted to flutter in the water. Finches and even hummingbirds love and visit two or three times a day! The good reviews are why I bought this. I’m not disappointed it’s exactly what I wanted it’s real genuine bamboo. Quality exceeds price. I couldn’t wait to install on zen type pot I already had under bamboo wind chimes (bought from Amazon). Setting up the Zen garden will be exciting. Always wanted one. Have perfect shade around home for tropical plants zone 8 Florida. Paradise look can Become reality with affordable prices on bamboo fountain and shopping around for plants. Already have bird bath fountain from Amazon which works perfect as well. For the prices I don’t expect a $1,000.00 fountain however. These work exactly as I wanted in my gardens in two locations. Sitting on deck relaxing to sound is worth more than thousands of dollars. Love being able to adjust water flow. For those who wish to have an on and off feature on pump you might want to buy the excellent all weather remote plug in. I only turn pump off to clean as company recommends NEVER turning off as it’s meant to run 24x7. The birdbath pump has been running nonstop for 2 mos. no complaints. Pumps are affordable should it wear out. I keep one, now 2 on hand as I love and enjoy the fountains so much. Plan to run them in cold weather also.

Perfectly Tranquil

This is the perfect addition to my deck! Was looking for a water fountain but couldn't find one that I liked that wasn't a fortune. Stumbled across this one and decided to give it a try. It was so easy to set up and I had it working after a few minutes.. The longest part was arranging the rocks to a design that I liked. I used a 12" plastic planter I found at a garden center. Will probably upgrade to a ceramic planter but this works fine for now. Have it on the minimum setting and the sound is perfectly tranquil. Will be getting some for my friends as gifts! A creative way to bring some zen to your corner of the world!

You can vary the intensity of the sound . . .

by adjusting the height of the arm and/or placing various small rocks and stones underneath the falling water. as easy to assemble as everyone has said. You can adjust the height of the arm by raising or lowering it then holding it in place with the peg provided with the fountain. Charming. I have it sitting in my lanai on the edge of a large flower pot with some rocks and stones inside. The pot is about two feet high but I filled it with water only half way up to avoid splashing water on my floor. I can adjust the intensity of the sound to a soft background trickle or increase the intensity of the sound by moving the rocks and/or the fountain arm around so it is loud enough to hear when I am sitting on my patio. The pump can also be adjusted to maximize or minimize the amount of water flowing through the fountain. The bamboo is nice looking, as is the fountain. I actually wanted a deer chaser fountain but I didn't want to spend the $90 to get it. This bamboo fountain is more satisfying than I expected it to be. I wanted the restful sound of flowing water, and this little fountain has given me exactly what I wanted at a very reasonable price.

I posted photos of the item I got, thick bamboo and looks better than the one pictured on Amazon IMO. Works great so far. Pump is adjustable for flow.

Tips for indoor use

Like other reviewers, I stumbled upon this pump/spout kit while searching online for fountains, and I found this to be a much more affordable set up overall than many other ready made fountains on the market. My intention was to use the fountain indoors. I filled my container with water, got my fountain set up, and found that the minor splashing that occurred even with the adjustable spout at its lowest level was a problem as it would splash onto the walls, which were maybe 12 inches to 18 inches away from where the water was landing in the fountain. The product came with information directing buyers to their website bambooaccents.com which had a link to their product catalog where I found helpful tips for reducing splashing: direct water flow to edge of bowl, put a mesh screen on the surface of the water, use water plants or propped up potted plants, use stones to piled up higher than the surface of the water and create a hole that catches the stream of water coming out of the spout. I tried this last one. I have my adjustable spout set to the lowest possible setting, and my rocks are piled up to about 5 inches below the spout. My pump is on the lowest flow setting. I still have a few minor stray splashes here and there, but otherwise my walls are not getting noticeable splashes, and they are about 16 inches away from where the water hits the rocks. I used an 18 inch diameter container and I feel it works well with this size (12 inch medium) bamboo arm. I'm very happy with the product!

Set the spout high and enjoy the calming sound of water

I am sitting here on my front porch listening to and looking at the bamboo fountain spout. It's placed outside by the lampost (for electric outlet) pouring into a plastic wood immitation barrel. Very calming, just love it!! I find it to be well made and simple enough to place on any container you like.
