• Drill, countersink, and counterbore holes in one step
  • Use for plugs and dowels
  • 1/4" hex shank
  • Can be used the power drills
  • Use with quick change chucks

I've been using a set of these for over 20 years. I have some others, but they rarely get used because these are the best. I finally lost the largest size last year, so I decided to buy a new set and pass my old one down to my son-in-law. These are solidly built, well designed, and sharp for a very long time if you don't abuse them. The drill bits are easy to replace and stay put under the large set screw (it helps to grind a little flat along the shank on new bits). Hex shanks mean no spinning in the drill, plus quick change ability. What more can you ask from a woodworking countersink set?

These bits do the job excellent. The drill fits inside the countersink holder pretty snug, but not too much so as to give a hard time adjusting. You can countersink just enough for the head of the screw, or go deeper into the wood without a problem. That's very important to note, as there are other designs which "force" you to countersink the head way deeper than just the surface level. The countersink metal is extremely durable, I even tried drilling one to fit a slightly larger drill and failed.

There are certainly more expensive, possibly more professional sets out there, but tThese are the best, all-round countersink/counterbore drills that I have found. The mandrel is sharp and will bore a clean hole. The bits are sharp and their depth can be adjusted in the mandrel. As with most any countersink bit, you have to eyeball the countersink depth. There is no stop, which is really not a problem. The 1/4" hex shank can be used with most any chuck, including impact chucks though I can't imagine why you would do this. I have not broken one, but any bit can break if overheated and torqued sideways while drilling. Don't waste your money on the cheaper sets.

Best set I have ever owned! The countersinks on these are sharp. They work very fast and produce very clean countersinks. The set screw is also fair sized, not tiny like some others that strip out. So far I have used these in MDF, plywood and solid wood, both hard and soft and they have worked great. If I ever need more, these are the ones I would buy.

They're a little pricey but it's definitely a case of getting what you pay for, and maybe a little more compared to cheaper products that break and don't perform well. These feel quite hefty in your hand, they're sharp and the bits actually fit the countersink sleeves! I mention this because many of the bits on others I have owned are noticeably small for the sleeve hole and therefore are never properly centered and make poorly sized and shaped holes. I really like the substantial size and clean machining of the set screw system. They're easy to loosen and they tighten back up easily after you adjust drill depth, and then they stay where you put them no matter how many holes you drill, whether it's in softwood or hardwood. This design uses two chamfered flutes, so I get the best results when I keep my drill speed on the high side and take my time completing the cut. (That last bit of advice applies to most of what I do with power tools - take my time and let the tool do the work.) And they're made in the USA to boot. If you're in the market for a set of countersinks, I recommend you spend a couple extra bucks and get these. The old saying is true that quality is the best value.

If you are looking for combination drill/countersink/counterbore bits, look no further. Sure, you can certainly spend less, but if you do, you will miss out on sharpness, accuracy and concentricity which typify this Snappy set. The size of the retaining screw is a real bonus - a large, hardened hex which can be tightened without stripping the threads or rounding-out the allen socket. These are wonderful!

Using some of these for a deck re-do. These are quality tools. The only thing that I didn't like is how sharp the counter-sink portion is. I had to be careful not to drive too far into my decking when using these. If you need deep counter sinks these are perfect. For a deck remodel you need to be careful.

The countersink portion of these bits are perfect. The countersink and 1/4 quick change section are one piece, and quite solid. There's a set screw in them for adjustments and also allows you to replace the bit independently, which is awesome. The bits that come installed are on the cheap-o side - in fact I had one break on me during my first use. But you buy a set like this for the countersink, not the pilot bits.

I had a wooden coat rack that was centered over a stud. The two holes to adhere it to the wall were on either end. As soon as I received the countersink drill bit set, I used one to countersink a hole in the middle so that I could screw into the stud and secure the coat rack securely to the wall (it had fallen twice under the weight of the hanging items). It worked beautifully. I have never used a countersink drill bit before, and I was so impressed. I am a DIY mom and wife, and I need things to be easy like this. I have so many other ideas on how to use these. They were definitely worth the investment, and I can highly recommend them. They seem very, very sturdy, and the drill bit showed absolutely no sign of use after drilling through the hard wood. I am, by no means, a professional, but I hope my review helps you. I LOVE the fact that I don't have to change from a drill bit to a countersink and back again. Very convenient. Nice product.

I have now been using these bits for the past 6 months with great results. High quality product. I am just a Weekend Warrior, but I find myself using these bits multiple times per week. For my woodworking projects, the ability to quick-change back and forth from these bits to my Philips bit saves me a lot of time. In the past, I was using both a drill and a driver for projects. Not only that, but I was using a stand-alone countersink drill bit, plus the standard drill bits to pre-drill. What a waste of time. None of my bits have broken over 6 months of use. With the 5 different sizes, I find that I am easily able to meet my pre-drilling needs for projects. As far as I can tell, they do not need to be sharpened yet, as they are drilling in with ease in my Impact Driver. These were priced at about $20 when I bought them last summer. As of today, they are at $31, which seems steep.
