We got this for our family to begin a more intentional practice of daily gratitude. The combination of some gratitude/happiness oriented TED talks and books had led us to thinking that we needed to be actively fostering gratitude in our household. We had seen a display Buddha Board in a shop that our 7yo daughter loved to "play" with and thought it would be a great physical reminder and tool for the purpose. After we got it set up (very simple instructions), we began committing to each writing what we were grateful for each day - or as often inspiration strikes. This is somewhat different than how other users have engaged with a Buddha Board to write down their worries. The plan was simple enough for all ages of our house to follow and the board itself is attractive enough to have in our family area without detracting from our decor. It's been a joy to see what we all write and how this has become a daily habit. As an added bonus, our daughter, who has struggled with handwriting, has enjoyed some improvements in hand-eye coordination from using it! It takes a lot of concentration to control the brush and its helped her pen-and-paper writing. I commented about this to a friend who happens to be an occupational therapist who confirmed it was a great tool for that purpose! We have really enjoyed using this and haven't gotten tired of it after several months of daily use. The instructions on upkeep were very clear and not fussy. We remind our daughter not to over-wet the entire board but otherwise, its completely intuitive to maintain. A great tool for creating a more intentional family life.

I got this for my sister for her 14th birthday- she is a major artist and this was pretty much the only thing I could find that she didn’t already have. AND SHE LOVES IT! She uses this all the time and it is so fun to watch the drawings disappear. The brush is very cheaply made, but it doesn’t really need to be high quality, and you could really use whatever brush you want. Overall the entire product feels light weight, but should last a long time as long as it is taken care of.

Bought the Buddha board at the suggestion of Tim Ferriss and it is one of the most satisfying purchases I have made in a long while. It is no joke when it comes to learning to let go. Draw whatever you want and while it can be frustrating to watch something you have put so much effort into disappear, but the exercise is fantastic for us OCD types.

I'm a student at UO studying Japanese and International Business, so I was looking for something fun and not too expensive to practice my Kanji with. This is the perfect little board to practice my Japanese calligraphy and memorize my kanji all in one! Very easy to set up, and comes with a brush, board, and a water tray/ stand. I love how you don't have to buy ink or specific paper to use with this kit. Just add water and you're set! There's absolutely no mess, and clean up is super easy! I would definitely recommend this board to anyone who is looking for a fun activity!

I work at a college in an environment where I am stressed out a lot, but I also have a lot of stressed out college students in my office! The Buddha Board is incredibly soothing to 'paint' on (only requires water' and helps remind me that tough days will fade away just like my artwork does. Several of my coworkers have this in their office too. And, of course, it's great when you're not stressed out too- just fun to play with!

I love this for all ages. Great gift idea. My 3rd time purchasing. Nice tool for young artists working on practicing brush strokes, but also great to just keep on desk and doodle. Great for elderly to keep dexterity. Mess free fun for little kids too! I bought some inexpensive rocks and placed them in the water tray. Looks great just sitting out, but can be easily stored too. This seller is about $7 less than Barnes and Noble.

I have bought the Buddha Board for a friend who loves it. I finally got one for myself. I love the concept of letting go. It's a great gift for anyone especially a friend (of any age) who is going through a rough time. Very Zen and calming.

This board has helped me and became a big coping tool. If you’re like me and have a hard time dealing with lack of control, this is helpful. It would also be a great board for practicing writing or drawing on, as everything disappears. I highly recommend this to anyone who has some desktop space. Super relaxing and great deal!

I'm so excited to allow my students time to use these boards in the art room. I think it will offer some art therapy benefits, as well as knowing that a work of art can change and that a mistake is just a simple detour, that in this case fades and disappears over time. I tried out the board when it arrived and absolutely love the product - I do wish it was a little cheaper as I would have liked to have boughten another set for my art room, but otherwise a happy shopper and proud owner of 2 Buddha Boards!

I saw one of these many times in a store I frequented a year or two ago and enjoyed writing Japanese curse words on it before leaving, but never bought one because I was in college with no space or money for it. Since graduating and acquiring space and money, I bought one and I'm very glad I did. It provides a moderate facsimile of Japanese calligraphy and makes for a perfect practice tool for drawing large, complicated, or stylistic kanji. I've taken to using a "Kanji of the Day" app to practice one particular character a day, and I've noticed the improvement not only in those particular characters, but others as well. It's also a fun little conversation piece, and a great way to segue into flexing all those fancy kanji you learned in college Japanese class but never use any more!
