Apples to Apples Junior
Apples to Apples Junior - This is still a favorite game for family gatherings and with the Junior set I do not worry about the really young kids playing along because it is so easy for them to understand the words used since the examples are a bit more simple for them to grasp vs the regular set. No matter the age of the person playing everyone always wants to play this game it has become a family tradition at Christmas time over the years. I think the reason why everyone likes to play it so much is that anyone can play and everyone gets so silly when playing it the laughter just never ends and honestly now the older the group is getting the sillier they are getting when they play this game.

Great for Kids & Adults!
This version has more things kids will be familiar with. The Standard Adult version had things like "Cher", "Oprah"...but this game is geared towards children and it's rare if their is something on the cards they don't know. Easy to play. Same rules as the regular version. So much fun...my 4-year-old and 6-year-old love it. We have to read the cards to my 4-year-old...but we all take turns voting and everything.

Words are easier to read and understand for younger crowd.
I had purchased this game for my 7 year old for Christmas. My family would usually play the original version during get togethers. My daughter would usually be partnered up with an adult because she needed help reading and understanding the majority of the words. The junior version is great for her. Now she can play on her own against all of us. The concept is exactly the same, but the words are easier to read and understand. It makes playing so much more fun.

Great game! Had a blast with friends!
I came across this game while looking at the list of bestseller board games. We don't have older kids at home, but I still went ahead and bought this instead of the Adults version because we don't stay in America/Europe and I was worried that the Adults version may have things/places/people/words that we won't be able to relate to. I don't know about the Adults version, but boy, we had absolute blast playing this game in a group of 6 adults. The concept is quite simple. Everybody gets 5 red cards and they must choose a red card which matches with the green card on the table. For example, once we had a green card that said "Expensive" and I chose a red card that said "Superman". Now my job was to convince the judge (each player takes a turn to be a judge) why I think "Superman" is the most "Expensive" thing in the world - LOL. It can get quite imaginative and interesting as everyone tries to convince the judge with their own red cards.

Great family game - a new favorite in our house
As a family that loves Apples to Apples and Cards Against Humanity, we wanted to introduce our younger set (ages 5, 7 and 8) to Apples to Apples as well. This version, though it says 9 and up, is great for kids who are strong readers and like vocabulary. My children are all capable readers and so can each play this game independently, making for really fun family game nights. I like that almost all the cards are accessible (some references to shows they haven't seen, but I allow them to trade those in), and that they learn new vocabulary from the green cards. They also have learned to think about what each judge would like, and it has sparked great conversations as a family (and jokes - since some family members are very predictable in the cards they will choose when they serve as judges!).

Great Family Game
What a wonderful game for young and old. The game box says for 9 and up, but we played with an 8 and a 6 year old and they both loved it. If they didn’t understand the word, they either asked the meaning or looked on the card, which explained the meaning. I highly recommend this game for families. It’s fun and provides lots of laughs, as well as improving language skills for youngsters.

Fun game for multiple generations
What we liked: We played this across four generations of family at Christmas. Everyone can play and there was a lot of laughter around the table. Downside: this game sort of presumes that everyone is aware of current culture: many references to Harry Potter, Star Wars, Paw Patrol, pop singers, etc. This tends to leave out some people. All in all, I would say that most families can have fun with regular “Apples to Apples” and don’t need this version. If the kids in your family watch a lot of tv then they may prefer this Junior version. I have a feeling these pop culture references will be stale pretty soon. The red box Apples to Apples is a better game.

Engaging game
Entertaining game to play with younger children. I am a teacher and bought this for my class. My students love the game and I do too. It gets everyone to engage and learn new vocabulary. It also has a great price. I would recommend this to anyone with younger children for home or school use.

Love this game...but NO UPDATED CARDS same one for 2015
So disappointed and false advertising!!!! It shows UPDATED CARDS...but when I received it is the same one I already own from 2015 NO UPDATED CARDS. So if you are buying this because you want updated cards don't buy it from here. I will be returning and going to the store to look for one with updated cards. 5 Stars for the game it's self but 0 stars for the seller!!!

Perfect
We have the original Apples to Apples game and my kids( ages 10-14) really didn't get a lot of the words and actors and what not in that game. A little over their head. Now my husband and I got it cause a lot of that stuff was in our days when we were young. We ended up getting the Jr version and it is just perfect!!! Couldn't have been more pleased. More current things in it: Star Wars, Disney channel, videos games and what not related stuff.
