Awesome! Does exactly what it says it does!

So far I've had no problems. I got a package of 36 Prismacolor colored pencils in the same delivery. None of them were sharpened, so I was very thankful I had ordered an electric pencil sharpener. It takes a bit of force to get the pencil in far enough to activate the sharpener. I was nervous at first at pressing so hard. I eventually got the hang of it, and it sharpened them all beautifully. There were a few pencils that I had trouble pulling out. I'm not sure what the difference was. They were a little scraped on the sides once I did remove them. I don't know if those pencils were a fraction larger than the others, or what the cause was, but it's not enough of an issue to bother me any. I would say if you're going to sharpen fancy designer pencils, or family heirloom pencils, keep looking. This is only one size (whatever standard pencil size is). That kind of bums me out, but for the price, and quality, beggars can't be choosers! At one point I knocked it off my coffee table, so it fell about 2 ft onto hardwood floor. The case stayed on like a champ! A few minuscule shaving flecks managed to escape, but I was super impressed the whole casement didn't fly off! That alone was enough to buy my loyalty, since I am a born klutz. The description mentions that it won't oversharpen, and that feature worked perfectly for me! It would still make sounds like the little motor was running, but I could tell the blades (or tiny beavers? I have no idea) were no longer engaged. I am very pleased with my new electric pencil sharpener (Look out world! I'm movin on up!), and would recommend to family & friends.

Best Choice for the Homework Table

I am very happy with this purchase. I spent a few days researching both product reviews, price history and other brand’s competitors. This Bostitch Electronic Sharpener was a great choice. When we unboxed it , it was simple to connect the cord and plug in. It was ready to use immediately. It also has a function that makes a sound when the pencil is sharpened , which takes the mystery out of how long you need to push it for. It has a very large reservoir to hold the shavings . It doesn’t look like I will need to empty it for months. It looks sleek and compact. My 7 year old son uses it with ease and thinks it’s great as well. I highly recommend both the product and the seller.

Update ive had this electric pencil sharpener for several months now. It doesnt work anymore. its stuck. So much for warranty.

I think that this specific electric pencil sharpener is the best. The brand is a good solid brand and the unique shaping of the sharpener has a reason. The container where the pencil shavings go is deeper and longer. This means that you can sharpen pencils numerous times before needing to empty the bin. The price is very fair. The bin comes out easily to empty. No spilling. I've had this this for a few months and I use it almost everyday. I color adult coloring books with colored pencils. Yes it's great for them.

Love The Bostitch Electric Pencil Sharpener!

Who gets excited about a new electric pencil sharpener?? WE do!! I homeschool so an electric pencil sharpener comes in handy. I research and found that at an affordable price this Bostitch Electric Pencil Sharpener was the one for us. It works really well but since you have to push the pencil in a bit it took my 4 yr old a few tries to figure out how to get it to sharpen. I like the large shaving compartment so I don't have to dump it so often. It's a good size and fits perfectly on the desk.

This was the perfect pencil sharpener for my young artist, until he crammed a crayon into it. Insert eye roll. But before that, it was awesome. Great size, easy to empty the shavings compartment and fits perfectly on any desk. I'll probably be buying another one soon!

The Solution!!

Great stocking stuffer for an 11 year-old who never seems to have any sharp pencils in a collection of dozens!!! It is nice and heavy, with rubber feet to keep it in place when a pencil is being sharpened. I LOVE not having to be asked to 'sharpen my pencils' several times a week, and he feels empowered..... I particularly searched for an electric sharpener from a company I recognized. I wanted a weighty one for a permanent spot on a boy's desk, and this couldn't be any better!!

My children love this sharpener. It's quick and sharpens better than my classroom sharpeners. I'm a teacher and often had my biological children sharpen ten pencils every two weeks or so with my heavy duty sharpeners in my classroom. They would use their tiny pocket sharpeners in the interim. That didn't work so well. We were always running out of sharpened pencils for art projects and homework. My biggest objection to having an electric sharpener at home was the danger it posed to my three year old...she's precocious and too bold for her own good😉. However, my hubby and I found a spot on the top of our highest bedroom dresser that could house thr sharpener and ⭐️⭐️⭐️(Big bonus), the opening for the pencil is too small and too deep for her little fingers anyway. This is a relief....for worst case scenario parents like we are...and for my older children who need it. I would also use this in the classroom with my school children...but somewhere that is low usage or traffic ( like in an art or writing center or at my guided small groups table). It's smaller than standard classroom size....so the shards reservoir is small and would require frequent dumps....but just as powerful as the bigger one.

Great pencil sharpener

This has been an awesome pencil sharpener. I say this only because I have purchased 5 prior to this one. I have had this for 6 months and happy that I purchased this. The only thing that I wish they would change is diameter of the hole for the pencil. Some pencils will not fit. That is the only draw back to this product.

I should have bought this years ago! We've been struggling for years hand sharpening pencils, breaking the lead while doing so, having a hard time finding a good manual pencil sharpener. Why? We could have bought this and eliminated the billions of little sharpeners we'd collected over the years! It's so fast and easy to sharpen pencils now that I never realized what a pain the tush it was to sharpen them before. Over and over and over before the lead wouldn't break and it was sharp enough. I know it sounds silly, but having this is like a breath of fresh air with the amount of pencils, both regular and colored, we use and sharpen in this house! I recommend this to everyone now! It's way better than I expected for the price!

Great for families with school-age kids!!

Awesome! I homeschool my 6 year old and have a 9 year old as well so this has gotten tons of use! It works great! I have never had a single issue with it and we have had it for months now. Shavings are easy to dispose of and blades have stayed very sharp and are still functioning well. Definitely a great buy for any family with school-age Kids!!
