My 2 1/2 year old granddaughter loved these. First thing she did was try on all the clothes. The dolls, the clothes and the case are all wood. Sturdy. She cannot break them. She uses the case to put them to bed. The dolls stand well. and the clothing sticks. This toy will grow with her. Right now she can put the clothes on and take them off but has a little trouble lining them up. They do line up easily, she is just not physically there. Three may be a better age to give them to a child. I'd recommend having a little purse or box for the shoes ready before opening the package. My granddaughter really loves the shoes but they can also get lost quickly. The dolls are not naked. And the clothes are girl clothes. Not sexy or Barbie like. If they were, I would not have bought them. To be 100% perfect, the case would have a handle and a latching lid.

I bought this for my granddaughter who turned 2 based on a recommendation from another mom with 5 lovely girls. She was spot on; my granddaughter LOVES it! She was able to switch out the outfits and dress the little girls to her pleasing. It is easy to use, especially for little toddler fingers. She liked the stands so the girls could "play" with each other. I wish it had a lid though. Still, good solid construction and lots of variations in the outfits.

My three year old daughter loves to play with this set. It is well constructed and durable. I love that they are magnetic - so much easier than the older style paper dolls. Some of the pieces are small, like the shoes and hats. We never had a problem with her putting them in her mouth but they can be hard to keep track of. I wish it had a lid of some sort that snapped on the box. We have had the set for a little over a year and it has held up well. I purchased it when she was about 2 1/2 and we played with it together so we could supervise her with the small pieces. Now she is 3 1/2 and plays on her own with it. I just always stress the importance of keeping it all together and picked up. I think it is a good role playing game, we usually make up voices and play make believe with them.

these were a gift for a 2 year old girl. I knew she would love it because my 5 year old has a set also and has been playing with them since she was about 2. kids are drawn to this because of the ease it is to play dress up, you can't change Barbie's clothes this easily! they are adorable and the magnetic backing on the clothes work wonderfully. if you have a magnadoodle then kids will use the clothes to play on the magnadoodle and think it is some sort of magic, very fun to watch!

I gave this to my niece for Christmas, who had just turned 4 at the time, and it was SUCH a big hit. It was the only Christmas gift she wanted to play with nonstop. It was very easy and accessible for her, so she could play with it with minimal adult supervision without getting frustrated. Although it was so cute and fun that I wanted to play with it too! Also, fortunately, I don't remember this set having a bad/toxic smell, like some of the other reviewers mention. There are some small pieces, like the hats and shoes, that make this toy potentially dangerous to younger toddlers, so watch out for that. But for my 4-year-old niece, it definitely fit the bill!

My six and four year old great granddaughters loved playing dress up with this set. An interesting discovery was how clothing was selected by each. It gave an indication of their nature, one dressy, one flamboyant. They both put the dolls in their stands and brought them out to display how they had dressed them with the magnetic clothing. They redressed Abby and Emma many times, putting thought into matching themes. The only minor negative part was that no lid was provided for the entire set, only for the clothing, so care had to be taken when storing so the dolls and bases wouldn't tumble out.

My granddaughter is SO into paper dolls....I bought a tiny little set at the dollar store & put it into her "go to the restaurant lunch pail" that is only played with when out to eat. Such a hit idea I came up with, my granddaughter has looked forward to this lunch pail since age 2.....she is now 4 yr and will say, "Nonna, can we go out to eat today".....and I know it because she loves what is in the lunch pail! The little magnet paper doll set is such a hit so I went on a search for more....and found this set. Great....two friends and lots of outfits. She is going to love this come Christmas!!

I love this magnetic wooden doll set. There are so many clothes to choose from with hats and shoes too. I bought this to help me teach my kids from China about the names of clothes. They love extra visuals aside from the slides that are provided . I love the quality of this set so much and the price that I bought another set for my 5 year old niece. The set comes with a sturdy stand for each doll and the options of clothing is wonderful .

The fine quality of Melissa and Doug Toys will keep you coming back for more. They make wonderful gifts. If you are a Gramma like me you will love seeing the joy on the faces of your Grandchildren as they play with their new present. I have purchased many Melissa and Doug Toys and each time I get them I am impressed with the work that has been put into the item. It is obvious they pay great attention to details and really care about these toys. I assure you they will provide many hours of play for little ones. I will tell you that on one occasion I made a call to Melissa and Doug Headquarters to express my opinion about their products as well as make a suggestion for future items they might put on the market and I was responded to with respect and thanked for making suggestions. The suggestion I called about if you are wondering is: Whenever I get an item I open up the box and I am amazed at the quality and details but when I go to put the item away there is usually nothing to keep the pieces in the beautiful hardwood box that is made for the toy. I suggest there is some type of solid plastic slide in lid or snap lid for the box. I end up having to put all the pieces in a plastic baggie. I want to keep everything in the beautiful boxes that the toy comes in. No Mother wants to have to dig in the toy box for 50 items to play dress up etc..... I really hope they fix this one.

This set of magnetic wooden dolls are fabulous. As with all the other Melissa & Doug products that I've purchased in the past, they are made of real wood and are of a superior quality...they are extremely well made and durable! There are two dolls, Emma and Abby, and 56 pieces of clothing that allows you to make hundreds of different outfits! I purchased this for my daughter back when she was only four and she loved it. Now that she's almost eight, she still loves playing with them...and the set is still in like new condition! I too have spent many fun hours playing dress-up with these dolls. They are far superior to the cardboard dolls they had back when I was a girl. LOL
