I thought about lying and saying that I bought this 5 lb bag of candy for baby shower or wedding party favors, but.....the truth is, I bought them for me, and I plan to finish this whole bag myself, without sharing. Admittedly, I see now that I may have a bit of a Good & Plenty problem. Maybe I'll seek treatment for my addiction.....right after I finish this bag. I'd been buying the boxed version of these, but this bagged version was more economical. Mine were very fresh: crisp shells with soft licorice---not hard pellets that sometimes happen. Would I repurchase? Yes, as long as they deliver to my candy rehab facility.

Good & Plenty in 5lbs.

what can one say...if you like the sweet flavor of licorice you will love Good & Plenty. A treat that has been around forever! Love them. Purchasing in a 5 lb quantity we will have them handy for snacking on for awhile. Great for home or office. The 5 lb is perfect for the multiple candy dishes at a large event, party, get together...or refill. Much better value buying this in volume.

Good and Plenty

I have purchased many single boxes of this candy in the store but this is the first bulk batch I have purchased. This has to be the best I have ever purchased. I love this candy but didn't know how good it really was until this purchase. These are soft and chewy and will be something I purchase again. If you like Good and Plenty you will love these. No more individual boxes for me.

A classic licorice candy

A standard licorice that can be found almost anywhere in the USA. Not gourmet in the licorice flavor though and a bit too much sugar coating. Sometimes when found in some stores the product is stale and hard. This 5 lb bag was fresh and moist and will probably go stale as there is simply more candy than I thought would be in a 5 lb bag. I would recommend always checking the usage date...when purchasing from a brick and mortar store, it would be nice if online food purchases would also provide expiration dates.

The Best Good & Plenty Candy You Can Buy

Good & Plenty candy is available at most food stores in small packages, but I found that usually the candy has dried out and the licorice centers have become hard by the time it is sold. THIS bag of candy contains fresh, soft licorice centers that make this candy yummy! I have ordered two bags so far, and both have been fresh. Addicting . . .

Tons of Good & Plenty, factory fresh

Quick story. For some reason, getting Good & Plenty candy here in Hawaii is really tough, and if you do you pay about 30 cents and ounce for them. They are often stale, if they are in stock at all. My wife loves them, so when I found these on Amazon for about one third the cost, I bought the big bag. I can't tell if it came directly from the factory, but I will say these are the freshest and softest G&P we've ever tasted. We're keeping the leftovers in a vacuum sealed canister to preserve the freshness. I am definitely ordering these again.

February 14, 2012 To: D&S Office Supply and Amazon.Com, I would like to retract my previous review, as I believe that I jumped the gun. I received a defective bag of candy. Thinking that it would be taken care of in just a few days was unrealistic as this company does a lot of business and responded within a reasonable amount of time. They not only sent me a replacement bag but they sent two bags. I feel terrible for assuming that I was going to get taken, that was thoughtless of me. Amazon does an excellent, AAA job of protecting our purchases against fraud while assuring the highest level of quality and customer service. I would like to not only retract my last review and complaint, but apologize to D&S Office Supply and Amazon.Com for my hasty complaint. It was most certainly unfounded! Kind regards, W. Woodward

Plenty of my fav candy on hand for nibbling with Netflix plus this value was about a couple of dollars more at most from the 1 pound bag and this is a gigantic 5 pounds! Plenty to share playing cards or coloring group! This is is a fresh value!!! It is not a resealable bag unfortunately! Bummer! So I put them in resealable gallon bags to travel with and stored them in a tupperwear container. Just a scoop from a freshness sealing storage bag is all I need for a perfect licorice snack. These remind me of the box we got as kids. Be careful they can turn clean hands pink so I keep a wipe handy. I never buy in bulk, but this is a great value,I know we will enjoy on drives,movies,at computer things, and it is a deal!! Just look at the 1 pound bag on Amazon! The package is easy to redo. Buy this! It tastes fresh too!

The freshest and softest I've ever eaten in my entire life!

The candy arrived fresh and soft, although, it did not arrive safely. I am reviewing and rating the product, so the candy does deserve 5 stars. This is actually the freshest tasting Good & Plenty I've ever eaten. Unfortunately, the candy bag was busted inside the shipping box because of very poor packing, but poor packaging by Amazon has nothing to do with the product. Before I opened the shipping box, I could hear the candy rattling and rolling around inside the box. About 1/4 of the candy bag's contents had spilled out inside the shipping box, and was broken and chipped. Luckily, it is cool dry weather right now. The inside of the shipping box should be "clean," so I am enacting the five second rule. Into another plastic bag is goes. No sense in wasting a pound or more of candy, but it would have been nice if it would have arrived intact. Amazon packing quality gets worse each year no matter how many poor packaging reviews I submit. Oh well, poor packaging by Amazon does not warrant a reduction in stars as many reviewers do. Reviews are meant for the products, not Amazon's poor packaging practices. The packaging review is for that. Get it straight, people. This is awesome candy, and it is the freshest and softest I've ever eaten. I doesn't get better than this. Five stars all the way!

Yummo! Nice and soft with a hard candy shell.

I was hesitant buying 5 lb of Good and Plenty. I thought maybe they would be old and stale and that is why they were under $9. Much to my surprise, they were soft in the inside. They actually are fresher than the movie theater boxes I buy at Walgreens. If you like black licorice, these are very addicting. I have been eating then for over 30 years and the taste hasn't changed a bit.
