When you've broken your ankle...
Not a fridge but a cooler. Many negative reviews are because of this confusion. It will cool according to the ambient (surrounding temperature). If you're in a car that's 95 degrees, the stuff inside isn't going to be that cool. Turn on the AC, and you'll notice the stuff inside gets cooler. (Stepping off soap box) I have loved mine! I put one frozen water bottle in with the rest of the stuff to help get the cooling going, and that seems to help quite a bit. It was most helpful when my husband broke his ankle and couldn't get around. I still had to go to work. I got the wall adaptor for this unit so I could leave him food and drinks during the day. It was a life saver! I knew he would be okay with necessities during the hours I was gone, and he didn't have to worry about finding lunch. I'm such a fan of this product that I'll be getting it for other people who travel!

Great Little Cooler
Before retiring I drove a tractor trailer cross country for over 20 years, and used a similar but larger chest cooler nearly all that time. These things work great if you use them properly. Unless you are willing to wait a long time for things to cool down, you MUST cool items down before putting them in the cooler," The colder the better " Also if you cool the inside of the cooler first, that would help even more. Try not to pack your food into it to tightly, it needs a little space between items for cold air to circulate. According to Amazons product description this cooler is supposed to have a low battery cut off, that turns the cooler off if you forget to turn it off and your battery gets low. I have had this cooler over a year now with no problems since I turned it off when not in use. The other day I forgot to turn it off, the battery was dead the next day. So use caution and make sure it is off when not in use. Evidently the low battery cutoff on my cooler is not working properly. That's of course if it actually has a low battery cutoff, you can't always depend in what they say. There photo is wrong, so maybe there cutoff description is wrong also. This is handy if you buy some hot food out,and are not going home immediately (ie; Chinese food, rotisserie chicken, hot wings, etc.)or are going on the road and want to take some hot food with you, or want to buy some fast food to eat later just put it in the cooler and turn it on the heat cycle. Everything will still be toasty hot when you get ready to eat it. If traveling a AC/DC Converter is a must if you need to keep things cold in a motel, or for an extended stop that has a 110 volt AC wall outlet to plug it into. The Black & Decker CV6B Travel Mate 6.0 Amp AC/DC Converter will do the job. This cooler works well, it is also quite sturdy and very nice looking. The top of the cooler is a cushion for a arm rest or even to sit on, it is that well made. With it's sholder strap, it's easy to carry to a ball game, concert, the beach etc. If you put a long lasting Techni-Ice Travel Pouch inside, everything will remain cold for the entire event. The side zippered storage compartment is a decent size, and has room to hold your utensil's and smaller condiment's. The plug in cord is 6 ft.long, so you should have option's on where you want to place the cooler. UPDATE: June 2010 ::: I have had this cooler close to 3 years now and it is still working great " except the low battery cut off mentioned above " I use it regularly since it is always in my vehicle. Comes in handy to put cold cuts and perishables in after shopping, when I am not going home immediately. You can also check out my review on the larger Koolatron Voyager Thermoelectric Cooler - P-27,which I also have and use in the event I have to take extra with me on a longer trip. A Thumb's up on this review would be very nice, Thank you. NOTE!!! THE AMAZON PHOTO IS NOT THE CORRECT COOLER. Model TC212B HAS A STORAGE COMPARTMENT ON THE SIDE,( Check out my Customer Image )

AMAZING for Commercial Trucking/ long trips
This Product is so awesome. My Family does a lot of Trucking, and we use it in the Semi. I put a off the shelf Gatorade in it, and 2 hours later it was as cold as it would be in the fridge. We were able to have our cold sandwich meat and fruits cold all date long. I would recommend this to anyone who travels long distances, or is out in the hot all day. What an Awesome product! I'm so glad I decoded to spend a little more and get this one.

The dimensions are perfect. It keeps cold drinks colder for longer
I drive a daycab truck. The dimensions are perfect. It keeps cold drinks colder for longer, as well as hot food hotter for longer. It does not make food hot or cold. It's not a refrigerator, but it does do what it advertises.

Very useful for traveling or long days on the road.
This was a gift for someone else. They have used it several times already and they love it! Kept their stuff cool even when the car was very hot. They carry it into the house to unload when they get here, and find it very manageable. Large enough to carry baby formula plus whatever else needs to be kept fresh.

I would recommend this to anyone whether you will use for camping
I have had one for 6 years and on fishing trips use it 24-7. The one I bought recently was a gift. They have the same response as I do. I would recommend this to anyone whether you will use for camping, or just traveling in the car. It's a great little machine to keep cool things cold and hot things hot.

An extremely happy customer
My wife's office is her car. She travels 30,000 miles per year treating physical therapy to babies. This Black and Decker 12 volt refrigerator is fantastic and blows her previous koolatron out of the water. It was a glorified styrofoam cooler with a small fan. The Black and Decker actually cools and heats as promised. It is also good looking and extremely easy to transport. A great product.
