Bigger and heavier than I expected, but that's okay. Works well for everything I cook. No Teflon or other coatings to flake off and get into my food. No stick as long as I use olive oil and low heat. Very easy to clean, I just rinse off with water and dry.

I have had my Cucina Pro electric skillet long enough to have made about a dozen dinners in it. I have cooked Chicken, fish, burgers and including egg rolls. I really like the even temperature and that it doesn't return to heat with a blast. If kept at a reasonable temperature it cooks beautifully. Never preheat it too hot. It only takes a minute or two to preheat. If it is too hot you will make food stick to the surface. I like to make gravies and sauces so I am not too worried about deglazing the pan, you can make wonderful gravy. I even add some water to deglaze, for cleaning. After cleaning I wipe it with a drop of olive oil and it looks beautiful. The handles never seem to get hot or the cover as well. I was happy to read that this was the pan used at Publix, I have watched meals made in this pan and always admired it when I was shopping. That was what sold me. I upgraded from the usual teflon coated pan and was so glad I did. It is worth the extra money and the stainless steel is a much healthier surface.

I used to use a rectangular electric griddle for pancakes. I've become less and less interested in cooking on no stick surfaces and so was looking for a stainless steel replacement. My mom and dad have this same skillet and like so I bought one too. Initially I might have only given 3 or 3.5 stars because the heat was somewhat uneven. In particular the middle didn't get as hot. Pancakes made this quite obvious! Then I happened to make pancakes on my parents and they tried mine and we all agreed that theirs was considerably better than mine. Contacted CucinaPro as it was still under warranty and they sent out a replacement. The replacement came and it is fantastic which is why my rating is now 5 stars instead of 3. So, why do I like this? 1) Controlled temp is more consistent than something on my gas stove. 2) Big enough to make food for our family of 5. 3) Product may be submerged which helps clean up considerably. My sink isn't big enough to actually submerge it but since they say you can, I don't worry about using the sprayer to rinse with impunity. 4) Easy cleanup. 5) It is big enough to replace the old electric griddle I had but also is deep enough to be a lot more versatile. While I don't use the lid much, I do sometimes and that is nice as well. 6) Stainless steel + glass (the lid) makes me feel good about it both in terms of durability (stainless steel won't just wear off or get accidentally scratched through) and food safety (can use metal utensils without worrying about scraping off flakes of no-stick coating and don't have to use plastic utensils which may melt a little into food). In short, we like it, we use it quite a bit. Pancakes figure in quite heavily but also have made sweet and sour cabbage, scrambled eggs, etc.

Size is awesome. It is huge just to prepare you. I laugh every time we have company over and they see the skillet in the kitchen, its almost guaranteed they will say, "oh my, that's a huge skillet". Wife loves it and that's all that matters!

I wanted an electric stainless steel skillet, because I was tired of having to replace the teflon coated ones, because no matter how careful you are, the teflon flakes off. So I spent a lot of time looking online for one. This skillet (as well as the larger 16 inch size) had 5 star reviews whereever I looked (Amazon, Cooks.com and a few other places) but it was really expensive. I had to wonder, could it really be worth the money? Well, it is! I have had it for a few weeks now and I have made french toast, ham and eggs, chicken-fried pork chops and cream gravy, creamed corn (from scratch using heavy cream) and several other things. The skillet is amazing. It cooks evenly all over (not just where the "heating" element is), and when you turn it to "keep warm," that's exactly what it does. Totally fabulous. It cleans up like a dream. Once it cools down, I put some soapy water in it for a few minutes, then use a sponge to get what's left. Absolutely beautiful. And no teflon to flake off. I only have a couple of cons with this and they are so minor, that I still give it 5 stars--the instruction booklet gives recipes, but no temps, and I find that almost everything cooks at 250 or 300. Also, the instructions for seasoning it, are flat out wrong. Thank goodness I checked the reviews and used bacon for the job. Otherwise this is the perfect skillet!

I LOVE this skillet. My previous electric skillet was an Oster that I had for about a year. There were several times that I wanted to just throw it out the window because it just wouldn't get hot. I also recently heard about the negative side of non-stick pans.. This pan gets very hot, cooks evenly, and is plenty big for a family of five. Because it's stainless it gets potatoes really crispy. The lid is heavy and the handle doesn't get too hot to touch. The side handles get pretty warm, but again, not too hot to handle. I'll probably be using this every day so for me it's well worth the money. I'm SO GLAD to finally have a nice big pan that actually works. Yay! :)

The CucinaPro 1454 Stainless Steel 16" round skillet with glass lid allows for plenty of room for the food you're cooking---or plenty of food. This skillet is large enough for a one-skillet meal for my family of five (that's two adults and three teenagers). It heats evenly, cleans up---no lie!---with the wipe of a damp dishcloth. Best of all, this skillet is NOT Teflon coated, so you'll never have to worry about Teflon peeling off the pan and getting into your food. The glass lid fits well and is protected around the edge with a stainless metal band. It cooks grains, vegetables, meat, and fish equally well. We've used this skillet for about 2 months now, with no problems. I don't expect any future problems, because it is quite well-constructed. A useful, high-quality kitchen tool; definitely worth the money.

With a kitchen full of cast iron, I decided to get a big skillet to cook large amounts of food at one time. Good choice! Stainless cookware has been notorious for food sticking to the bottom, but cleanup was easy after I'd mastered the "de-glazing" technique that was included in the instructions. (Something cooks have known about for years.) A pan full of bacon cooked evenly and thoroughly with no apparent cool spots. Now I can cook anything!

I have never liked no-stick surfaces for a variety of reasons. I find them a nuisance and potentially unsafe. Just give me good reliable stainless steel any day. I was looking to replace my mother's old Sunbeam stainless unit that she has had since we were kids and found this very nice one. I got the 12" size which is what I would consider the typical size that you see. If you have a large family and the storage space, I would recommend the 16" if you plan to use it a lot. I may get the larger one for myself later on. This unit is heavy and of high quality machining. That is nice to see these days! Some of the no-stick models are very light weight and feel cheap. I always think that they are covering up the cheapness with the no-stick surface so that you may not notice, lol. The handles on this unit are sturdy and the glass lid always an appreciated feature. These remain a highly useful kitchen appliance and it is so nice to be able to get a good one.

This was a gift to my daughter who was having a large family to cook for before they all went to college, married etc.. I bought this skillet quite some time ago. She has loved it.
