Making a loud noise after a few months of use. It also is vibrating the entire kitchen. We have lookd inside, and can see no items within. Next step, removing it, cheking if inverting it and shaking it disloges anything we could not see. If not, it may have to be replaced. It is not usable in current condition! Addendum: Calling Waste King (Anaheim Mfg) was a pleasure. Since the unit was 10-11 months old, it was uder their warranty. They provided me with a local firm who replaced the unit. I am very pleased with their service. Looking into it, it seems one of the grinders is stuck, creating a ballance problem. Good customer service earns big points with me. New unit is quiet and works flawlessly Thanks Anaheim!

Very well designed disposal. The quick mount system was indeed very quick to mount, as far as other reviews saying it was confusing mine came in the order to assemble it. My advice read the instructions they have some good tips like using a little dish soap to help turn the quick mount collar to the disposal. It is very quiet compared to my old Badger 5, the only noise that is noticeable is that when you turn it on the blades click once. I'm assuming it's because it spins so much faster than my old one. Also another reviewer mentioned that no disposal should need a hammer to install it, when you read the instructions it's for the plug for the dishwasher. I mainly bought this for the warranty. My last disposal was a Badger and it lasted 10 years, but the current reviews put me off from going with them again. Sorry for the long post, I will update the review if I run into issues. Cheers.

I read all the reviews and decided to take a chance. I bought a 3/4 horse Waste King. I originally had a Kenmore 3/4 horse that lasted approx. 15 years. It's was always pretty noisey. I had the Kenmore on a direct wire so I had to put a GFCI outlet under my sink.....no big deal, took 10 minutes. Then I unhooked the old Kenmore system which did not take long at all either....took longer to unhook the electrical....lol Then I followed the picture diagram with instructions which are pretty damn detailed...so if you screw it up, it's your fault.......a 10 year old could figure this thing out. The only thing extra I had to do was modify the plumbing (pvc)drain pipe that hooks in to the side as it was too long. The hardest part was to put enough force pushing upward and the lock ring down ward. There is a nice rubber seal in there that holds the lock ring on the drain pipe...make sure it's seated properly or I'm sure it may leak.....it slides and snaps into a groove so you shouldn't really be able to screw that up but you know humans! I had to take apart the pvc plumbing and hooked the pipe in to the side of the unit before installing .....made it easier to put bolts in while it was facing you.....if you have diswasher don't forget to knock out drain plug.. The unit is smooth and magnet driven......AND PRETTY QUIET....MORE SO THAN MY KENMORE WAS WHEN IT WAS BRAND NEW! I will update if any issues or if it dies before my 8 year warranty is up.......GOOD LUCK!

I bought the Waste king to replace the Kenmore that came with the home which was quite noisey but, it worked so I didn,t bother us since it was a limited use item in our home. Recent it finially gave its last service which i was expecting. I really did not want to spend a lot of money on a new unit but, in my last home I purchased a exspenive disposal unit which is well known brand. My wife enjoyed the perfomance and it was quite. This Waste King is almost as quite, the 3/4hp makes short work of the scrapes. I actually am amazed on it's quiteness, the sound level is not intrusive like the old Kenmore(probably had bad bearings) For the cost of the unit i am well pleased with it. However I have one side note on the Disposal I recieved. I did the installing and when i was trying to connect the disposal to sink flange I had a difficult time with the collar. Upon close inspection I found the plastic body( sound proofing) was not all the way down on motor housing which made it impossible for me to connect the collar to disposal body. I made sure the small alingment slots in sound proofing jacket was in the correct position and pushed it down about 1/8 inch. After this adjustment the locking collar(ring) was easily turned. I have had another Waste King that had the same problem, I do not view this as a deal breaker and would buy it again. This is made in USA.

I used to have an Insinkerator, but the cheaply made plastic base cracked and began leaking. I have come to find out from friends and reading online that this is common. Waste King warranties are the longest in the industry although they seem to be made so they don't need to be! I upgraded to the 3/4 HP from a 1/2 horsepower and it is very strong and disposes of waste with ease and it doesn't seem to take up more space under my sink (nothing noticeable at least). The noise level is also pretty low. It sounds different than an Inksinkerator, but quiet and effective nonetheless. I have been using this for months now and I am very pleased with the product. It comes with a power cord so it does not need to be hard wired. If you only have a hard wire option, you can easily tweak it to feed directly to the disposal. I would definitely recommend this product.

I purchased this make and model based on comparing reviews in the price range +/- 50 USD. I had a Badger 1 which, to its credit, lasted about 8 years. I went with Waste King because it was an easy swap, has an 8 year warranty, increased my HP from .25 to .75, and is pretty quiet. If you are replacing a disposal, I have confidence that you can do this yourself. There are plenty of videos out there showing the ins/outs of these suckers. There really isn't much to these things. There is a knock-out, which you will have to remove if you are hooking up to your dishwasher. This too is easy (just don't forget to do it). Also, this comes wired and ready to go. If you are putting in a new disposal and need to add plumbing, you can still DIY, but I'd probably opt for a professional install. The last thing you want to do is experience water damage and/or electrical issues. It shouldn't be terribly expensive to hire out, and peace of mind (and safety) definitely have value. So far...so good. I will update this as time goes by. Update 6.17.17 - Another year down the drain. No issues, no clogs, still runs smooth and quiet. Update 6.4.16 - Some time has passed and just here to say all is well. I've had zero issues or concerns. I have come to realize and appreciate how quiet this is compared to the Badger.

I purchased this item to replace an Insinkerator 444. I never thought it possible to LOVE a garbage disposer, but I was wrong. The install was pain free, the instructions were clear (though it should specify plumber's putty is required for non-stainless steel sinks). Once installed, operation is so much quieter than my old Insinkerator and it makes quick work of food disposal. On top of all this, it has an 8 yr in-home warranty. It's only been installed 1 day, but I'm already feeling it was the best purchase of the year!

Replaced a Badger that only worked for 6 months, when carefully used. (was i ticked off about that) You have probably seen the 100+ reviews of the other waste kings, which demonstrate that it has to be better than that other brand at least :-) sooo your looking at this one, for some reason, and you dont know why it has so few reviews? Well that was me , Before i did some research and bought this specific model of wastey king. Why did i chose THIS one? because it is not as large as the other one, but still 3/4HP. when researching the replacement, I noticed that the 8000 (type) was going to take a lot of the under the sink space up, that was the only issue i had left after reading the other excellent reviews. There was This one The 3200, but not so many people buying it ?? why it is still muffled for sound it still has the easy install connect stuff it did not need any extra parts and pieces, replaced from sink down It came with an approprite sized elbow for going to the out pipe (distance too) it is just a little bit smaller in diameter, and shorter. Which allowed me to continue to use the under the sink space the same way it has at least 1/2HP , which is all i required it uses the stainless steel (according to the specs) food chopper guts (some cheper models dont) Installed it perfectally (taking my time to do it exactally right) in about 30 minutes, including removing the old one, and cheating and using silicon seal on the gasket after cleaning off the gasket, for the sink hole. Instalation was to one of those iron sinks with the white enamel paint, and Yes a better tapered gasket FOR those sinks would be slightly better IMO. but it centered, and fit very nice. I like the removable rubber sink hole thing better than the one that is Stufffed stuck on the top of the machine (3bolt system) , it can be removed and de-gunked of the slop that gets and lives on it. what else? it comes with the plug-in cord, which is how this house is wired. punched out the hole for the dishwasher hose and stuffed that on there. It a disposal ?? I really thought the last POS would have worked, so i wouldnt find myself saying what i just did :-) Installed now for only days, when i have used it for much time, i will update. Update, 2 years, and it is still working wonderfully. Chews it up, spits it out, and handles anything. Update, 3 years , and it is still working great. Have a good day!

Our InSinkErator Badger 1, installed by the builder, died after about three years of use. We didn't abuse it, but also didn't baby it, and the motor quickly burned out when it got clogged over the holidays before I even knew what was happening. In searching for a replacement I wanted something more powerful, but also hopefully quieter and not much bigger. And I also wanted something with a better warranty and reputation. Easy installation: It took me less than 10 minutes to pull out the dead Badger (yuck), and that included removing the old mount. Installing the Waste King took about 30 minutes – I went slowly with the mount, making sure everything was in order, but that was out of an abundance of caution. The disposal unit slid right onto the mount and locked into position with what I felt was the appropriate amount of force (it's not going to shake loose). Don't forget to poke out the knock-out plug before installation if you intend to run your dishwasher's outlet hose into the disposal. More power: Anything with at least 1/2 HP would probably be sufficient for us, but for only a few bucks more this one's got a 3/4 HP motor and a longer warranty. Quieter: Do yourself a favor and completely pull out the three-bolt mount you might already have for your old disposal. The EZ mount system included with this Waste King is indeed easy to install, and has the added benefit of suppressing some of the sound due to vibration through the rubber dampers. Although the motor is substantially more powerful than the Badger, it must have better sound insulation, as it's noticeably quieter. My two-year old now just asks "what's that, Daddy?" instead of getting frightened or startled. Not much bigger: It is slightly taller and a little wider than the Badger it replaced, but all the cleaning supplies etc. still fit in the sink, so it hasn't made a difference. Versus the 1 HP Waste King 8000: The 30% premium for the 8000 over this 3200 gets you a slightly more powerful disposal and a lifetime warranty. But it also takes up a good bit more space under your sink and I chose to save the money now.

This unit works well, runs quiet and was fairly easy to install. My only grip is on the model I got, it has a plastic sink piece and as far as I can tell the only thing holding it up is a rubber seal piece that holds the mounting clamp, which holds the disposal. My previous disposable was held by 3 bolts. However after reading the description, this is an install option for a different waste king model, so I won't fault them for my lack of reading. :) The unit is a lot quieter than my badger. The rubber sink piece that water/food goes through is also removable for easy cleaning and a replaceable part at $~6 or so, which I like. Our old one was gross and very difficult to clean since it wasn't removable. Some note that due to the lip of the removable unit, food will sometimes get caught or "sit" on that edge. We haven't had that problem yet, but we also don't normally try to toss bones or food in there. For us it's generally what's left stuck to a plate or a pot that's being rinsed.
