Simple to configure replacing 20+ year old unit
Bought this to replace an early 1990's Genie keypad, long before the era of rotating codes and find/bind functionality on the base unit, highly skeptical that this "universal" unit would work. Was even less confident when one of the first steps in the instructions redirected me to a web url for a different manual for ancient models. The referenced manual was actually online and available, instructions clear and easy to follow, and it took me less time to configure than to write this review. Works fine and I'm quite satisfied. Only slight downside is that it's only a 4-digit PIN, less secure than my previous 6-digit PIN unit (which is sending a 13-digit binary code), but a burglar would probably find it easier to break a window than try 1000 PIN codes.

Worked Great!
Worked great with a Genie. There's many different instructions for various type openers. If you overhead opener doesn't have dip switches, it probably has a learn button. I had to try 3 types of programs, before one worked. You may have to try it over, as it's easy to make a mistake. The entire process took 5 minutes. Edited below after I installed to more products: These had to be programmed in the order shown left to right. Yes, programming one can un-program another. The large Genie GM3T-R Master 3-Button Remote crapped out after a week. The tiny black one has a range of 10 car lengths. I did the same install in two side by side garages. One garage does not interfere with the other. All three of these product worked great and I recommend them. The stock Genie is easy – just press “learn” on the overhead box, then press your remote while that “learn” button is blinking. Good luck – be patient & you can do this.

Convenient and guess the number proof
Why didn't I get this sooner! Instead of hiding a key somewhere for the kids this is a much better solution. And more secure. At first I was worried about the burglar proofiness this is. Guessing a 4 digit code would take at most 8 hours I kind of calculated. Long, but not impossible. Chamberlain support said that if you guess for over 10 minutes then the clicker will reset itself to factory settings, so then it won't open the door anymore, even if they guessed the right number. Pretty smart!

Video made Easy Install
Amazingly, received the Chamberlain KLIK2U Universal Garage Clicker within 9 hours of ordering with same-day delivery. Per other review recommendations, I watched the YouTube video and was able to program the remote within a few minutes. I have a Craftsman Garage Door Opener. I was able to identify which Craftsmen model by the color of the "smart learn" button on the garage opener. I did not have to remove any panels from the Craftsmen Garage Opener. By sliding the remote cover off and removing the battery cover, I was able to install the remote to the side of my garage with the two provided screws within a couple of minutes. Be sure to leave a little space for the remote cover to fit over the remote as you install it to the garage frame. The remote fit smoothly against frame of the garage. I believe many will appreciate the narrowness of this remote. I had not thought about measuring the location where it would beplaced. Including the video, installing the clicker took about 15 min. Also, this product came with a 9 volt battery ... so it is ready straight from the package. We are vet happy with this purchase.

Works very well once you set it up
This is my second Clicker, I left the first one with my previous house where it performed great on the same set of batteries for about 10 years (and is probably still working now). Depending on your opener age, the configuration process can vary from very frustrating to very simple. With the dip-switch opener I spent at least a half hour trying things, then had to get on the phone with customer service to figure it out (but it worked). With my new learning opener (Lift Master), it was a 30 second process. Operation is a bit weird (0 is the submit key? Why not # or *?). Also, once you enter a wrong code, you have to wait for the backlight to turn off before you can try again. Not knowing this, you may keep trying over and over, and it will never work.

Works with Genie Promix super glide door
Works with a Genie Promax super glide, which was originally installed in 2001. Setup took less Than 2 minutes, the directions were easy to follow for learning the code and getting it on the right channel. Mounting to my garage also took less than a minute with the two included screws and my power drill. Unit takes a 9volt battery which is included. Also got the mobile clicker that I use in my car and easily pairs to the same garage door, Genie/Wayne Dalton Intellicode Gitr-3 Remote Replaces Git-1, Git-2 & Git-3

This keypad remote works great with my Chamberlain with the orange learn button
This keypad remote works great with my Chamberlain with the orange learn button. It looks great, easy to program, has illuminated keys to see at night, and you can set temporary pass codes. If the battery dies, it's easy to replace and it will not lose it's programming. The only down side so far is that lid does slide completely off the unit if you aren't careful. This can be fixed by placing a screw or nail above the unit (green arrow in photo) which acts as a stopper. I used a dark screw that looks inconspicuous against the brown trim. Overall at this point, I'm happy with this purchase.

Great Wireless Garage Door Opener! Worth Every Penny!!!
I have a 2005 Chamberlain garage door and it took all of 5 minutes total to have this completely up and running, including programming it and mounting it. It works wonderfully. I have no issues with the sliding cover getting stuck or being tough to slide as some others have. The keypad lights up red when buttons are pushed. It takes 1 9 volt battery and is attached with two screws. It is a breeze to use and working as expected and promised. The directions came in English and Spanish and were very easy to read and follow with pictures to make it even simpler. I highly recommend this to anyone!

The entry codes program Doesn't!
Living in Florida along the east coast I wanted a keypad without a cover that strong winds could open or blow off. The slide type cover is perfect. Wish it could have a visitors code but I'm willing to give it up for the slide cover of this model which is the older of the two by this manufacture. Now pay attention. The programming instructions are lacking very important step and information if you have a motor head with a learning button. 1. The garage door must be down (closed) 2. The step 2 and 3 must be completed QUICKLY while the keypad is still lit. Or it will not accept your 4 digit code and learning button code. Then wait and follow the rest of the instructions. I contacted support twice and was guided exactly per printed instruction and advised to replace the batter. After a hour of I boxed it up and returned it for a replacement. When the replacement did the say thing I searched You Tube. There were several giving advise and instructions still with no luck. They Yippy there is was the dude said "programming the system must be done QUICKLY" . I watched his video and saw it. Steps 2 and 3 done while the key pad was still lite. I hope this save y'all from following my footsteps.

Easy to program
They must have improved the clicker or the instructions prior to my receiving this unit, because I was able to follow the printed instructions that came with the garage door opener with no problems (did not have to add zeros or extra button pushing to the installation, just followed the written words to the T). I moved into a condo rental with an old 1995 Craftsman garage door opener with a green learn button. Bought this little guy to make it easier to open and close the garage door when my kids and I went bike riding since every time one of us hit the close button and tried to run for it, the safety on the garage door would cause the door to open right back up. Using this little unit has been super convenient. Unlike the installation instructions, however, there were no explanations included as to how to use the unit. So I was surprised that after pushing in the code and "0" to open the door, I could continually stop/open/close the door by pushing any button on the touchpad. I suspect that after punching in the code, you have a short period of time where the keypad just functions as a universal garage door clicker. Other reviewers mention that the keypad buttons light up red during this brief "free period", but if you're installing in the bright sunshine like me, you won't be able to notice whether the lights are lit up or not. Again, I have no idea how long this brief period is. Certainly, it has been long enough to open the garage, park your bike and helmet, walk out, and push the keypad again to close the garage door without having to enter the code again. If you push the wrong code in, however, the * button seems to clear it and allow you to start over. I bought this at a bargain, used from the Amazon Warehouse deals but while they said that the box had just cosmetic imperfections, it was actually missing 3 screws, which I was able to replace from my own stash, but just FYI if you're looking to buy the used units. Other hacks I found helpful -- I lubricated the plastic tracks along the side of the opener with a little vaseline to help the cover slide more easily since it seemed a bit tight right out of the box. Then, to prevent the cover from sliding all the way off the unit, I put in an extra screw in the wall above the open cover as a stopper so that the cover could not extend beyond that screw.
