I adopted a 9 year old English Setter rescue dog who came to us as a result of Hurricane Florence (flooded area in North Carolina.) He was full of worms and so emaciated. He also had horrible diarreah. He was on multiple de-worming medications and antibiotics. He was also dealing with the physical and mental stress from neglect and multiple moves to kennels. I had hoped that once he settled, and we cured all of his ailments, the diarreah would go away, but it didn't. We even gave him canned pumpkin, which only slightly helped. This went on for two months! A friend recommended Purina Fortiflora to me. I am eternally grateful to her! This worked! I saw improvement in two days! He had normal stools in about 5 days. I just sprinkle it on his food once a day. He is now gaining weight. It also helped cut back on the gurgles and the gas in his intestines. I found the price reasonable. There are 30 packets in the box and you give one per day. Since it works, to me, it is worth every penny!

Amazing stuff. Our Havanese suffered from horrible tear and mouth stains. It looked like she was crying mud all the time. We tried tear stain removers, diligently combing and wiping her face every day. We tried tear stain treats for a few months (the natural ones with things like cranberry extract, etc., not the ones with antibiotics). Nothing seemed to work. She's been on Forti Flora for a couple of months now and her tear stains are completely gone. It actually only took a week or two of daily use to stop the staining, and once the groomers clipped away the dyed fur, her face has been nice and clean. Tear staining happens as a result of bacterial issues. We thought feeding her high quality food as some have recommended would fix things, but we fed her Orijen, Fromm, and Instinct, all highly rated dog foods, and nothing changed. Antibiotics like tylosin (which was in the original formula of Angels Eyes) work by eliminating bacteria, but we didn't want to go that route as we'd heard that the tear stains come back as soon as you stop giving them the antibiotics and we didn't want to keep her permanently on antibiotics. A few reviews here have mentioned FortiFlora helped their dogs with tear stains, so I thought I'd give this a shot. My theory is that probiotics like FortiFlora flood her system with "good" bacteria which eliminate or push out the stain-causing bacteria through competition. We give her one packet sprinkled over dinner. She loves the taste and will lick the bowl clean. Another plus is that she's also completely stopped producing doggy stinks.

My bluetick coon hound developed really bad diarrhea around 6 or 7 months. Vet gave him Metronidazole which worked great, but is not a good long term fix. I heard about FortiFlora from a friend , so I got a box. Two or three days later he was back to normal, sleeping all night. We are both happy😊😊😊🐕🐕🐕. One packet every morning on his food. He is now 16 months & 100 pounds. Great product.

Like the other reviewers, I highly recommend this product. My six month old goldendoodle had soft stools since the day I brought him home. Switched from grain free to a highly rated chicken and rice dry food and put him on this. He now has normal fully formed stools 90% of the time! Plan to use this daily and then perhaps every other day for maintenance.

My pooch was on Blue Buffalo for 2.5 years w/o problems. Then he started getting belly aches, always headed for the green grass to munch on, stool became looser and he'd go 3-5 times in a row, stool getting less and looser as he went. Vet said he is healthy and asked what I was feeding. Told me they had several dogs come in with similar problems on the same food. Said brand has a lot of ash in it that when it builds up can cause said symptoms. Started cooking my own dog food: Boiled chicken (in water), cooked oats (in created broth), plain yogurt, and mint leaves. I am adding half a pouch of this supplement to each days dinner portion. He is back to producing perfect little sausages, no more belly aches, or excessive grass munching.

My dog gets seasonal allergies and has had to take immune suppressors to control them every summer and fall. It usually gets bad for her around june and lasts until the 1st snow fall. She was having some anal gland issues so the vet recommended we try these probiotics. Well surprisingly not only has she stopped dragging her but on the carpet ( it took a month so be patient) but her eye boogers stopped and her itching is really greatly reduced. So much so that she isn't on any medication and we are half way through August. I am hoping we can make it until winter without getting any meds. I just give her this and a fish oil pill every day. There is still some itching but it is really manageable. She has gotten her appetite back and has been more playful lately too. Like I said it took a bit to normalize the bowels but I'm feeling very hopeful it will keep us med free.

The best thing ever. We took in a dog that was suffering with diarrhea. We took him to the veterinarian, they ran tests for worms which he had bacteria, but no worms, so they put him on antibiotics to get rid of the bacteria which only made the diarrhea worse. Then we found out he had another type of bacteria more antibiotics a total of 3 weeks. Our new veterinarian, Dr. Denise Baltic in Uniontown, Ohio, put him on Purina Fortiflora which started to stiffen his stool, I had tried a different kind later and instantly he was back with diarrhea. Now we are with Fortiflora, and will only use that brand for the rest of his life. He has been able to gain weight and is a healthy dog.

This is the only product I have ever tried that keeps my dog in good shape. My dog developed intestinal issues immediately after adopting him from a shelter, and our vet recommended adding FortiFlora to his diet daily. It is a little expensive, so after I used it long enough to get his intestinal tract back into shape, I tried switching him to cheaper alternatives. None of them worked, and he ended up always showing symptoms of his intestinal issues. As soon as he had been back on FortiFlora for a week, his symptoms went away again. I sure learned my lesson, and will have him on FortiFlora for the rest of his life: the price is worth his comfort and keeping him from having accidents in the house!

Great product, does what it is supposed to do. FYI, you can get these on Walmart.com all day long for $21.99 with pick up at the store. That's a savings of $7 a box and is well worth a trip to Wally World in about 7-10 days after you have ordered it and it arrives.

First, this is the genuine product. It feels weird to have to say that, but with the amount of counterfeit pet products on the market, when I noticed that the printing on the date stamp was slightly different than the printing on the box I purchased from my vet, i was suspicious. However I called Purina and checked, and product I purchased on amazon was genuine, and that the printing on the batch number was slightly different because the product comes off two different production lines. They did however mention that they have been seeing counterfeit fortiflora and that the packaging on the fake product was a little shoddy and the colors were off a little, If you get a new box that doesn't look as good as the one that came from your vet, there's a good chance that it's fake. Also, I've fed a number of probiotics over the years and noticed that sometimes they didn't seem to do anything at all. It turns out that a lot of probiotics for dogs don't contain what's listed on the label and in other cases don't contain enough live organisms to do anything at all. Many contained almost none and only a few contained at least 100% of the claimed content in live bacteria. Amazon doesn't allow links, but you can search for the web page PMC3003573. It should show up on the National Institutes of Health (NIH) website. As for "actually working", my dog would frequently get giardia after running in the woods and drinking stream and swamp water Since I've been feeding fortiflora, this hasn't happened. My vet explained that the bacteria in the fortiflora "out-competes" the bacteria in the swamp water, since it's fed every day and takes over the entire digestive tract. The product is too expensive for my tastes (pun intended), but not waking up at 3am to a distressed dog and a pile of diarrhea on the floor is worth every penny.
