Classic Kit

It was the exact kit I was looking for as I had one previously (the threads got kitten attacked years ago, not its fault I parted ways with the previous kit). I considered smaller kits, more like travel kits which I've even got out of coin machines at Hotels, but this one has a little more bang, more threads whereas travel kits give you very limited thread lengths, I never used up any of the thread color. I used to sew and had a sewing machine and a lot more sewing stuff -- I still loved this little kit and even my husband would use it as a go to for fixing a button etc. It's OK for travel, but I had a really minimal one and I travel really light so, no, I'd hope I'd find another hotel vending machine with a tiny kit.

I'm giving this to my grandson for his mission. Even if he never uses it, he'll have the assurance of 'just in case'!

Couldn't find this anywhere else

The lid on my sewing kit, which was exactly like this one, cracked and I wanted to find a replacement. I went everywhere, to no avail, and then thought to look on Amazon. It is great that they have it because I love it!!! The people complaining about the scissors. Get real. These little things won't cut air but who cares. It's the handy colored thread and needles that make this sewing kit amazing.

Word of mouth goes along way

Well, it ask what I disliked about the sewing kit at the beginning of this review, so after I received the kit in the mail I found out from another Veteran that they have the same kit at the dollar store for $1 (singer 34). I paid almost $5, so I could have bought 4 kits, and paid it forward toward my fellow man here. Plus,I as a man that sews pretty good. Not on a machine though. Just by hand. I pick up another one @ Walmart (singer 12) for $1.77+tax. So, it just looks like I need to be a smarter shopper.

The scissors are super-cheap (be forewarned), but the variety of colors and materials in this sewing kit are better than the teeny ones you usually see -- more variety of thread, plus a measuring tape and three sturdy, good-quality needles. Suited my needs perfectly when I had to mend a favorite dress.
