disgusting. It's really not that bad though
I was hesitant to use this product because the concept is, well, disgusting. It's really not that bad though! The snot gets no where near your mouth at all. It doesn't even get into the tube and stays in the containment area. We used this on my 3 week old who got a cold from her big brother. At first it was hard to get anything out. The baby has to be very still to get the suction right. I would imagine it would be difficult to use this with just one person. Once you get the suction correct, it's rather surprising how well this works! I tried to use this on my sick 3 year old as well but he was too strong to get the right suction. A bulb is easier for him because even if he moves around the bulb can be held tight. Since this just sits at the base of the nose, if there is too much movement it won't work. I'm not going to deduct any stars because it didn't work on my son. I can't take his temperature either and the safety factor of this would be compromised if the design was changed. Just know if you have bigger, strong children, this may not work that well. Also, do not block the child's other nostril when using this. It would make their ears pop, which is uncomfortable even for adults. Overall, great product. I am very happy I found something to use that I don't need to worry about molding over like the bulbs. If you were hesitant to purchase this due to the gross factor, don't! It's great and works amazingly. My sick 3 week old slept 6 hours straight after using it.

This little snot sucker is pretty awesome. Works great for 3 month old.
Read all the reviews and was skeptical before buying this product. But my 3 month old had congestion for the first time and the bulb syringe wasn't cutting it. I used the Little Remedies Saline Spray before using this product so that her nasal passages would be moist and the snot would come out easier. She didn't mind the spray at all. But she hated it when I sucked the snot out and hates it every single time I use it. But it works wonderfully. I don't feel the need to change the filter after every use either, the snot goes no where near the filter so I feel you can use each filter at least 20 times. I just wash out the tube with soap and water after each use. This weird little nose sucker is pretty awesome. A must for every new Mom.

This thing SUCKS!
This works very effectively. It puts the good ol’ bulb aspirator to shame! See, the bulb aspirator limits each suction to the amount of air that can fit in the bulb. This bad boy gives as much suction as you can fit in your lungs which is highly effective on those over-stuffed noses. To be honest, I was extremely hesitant to try the nose frida. I thought the entire concept was disgusting. But when I found myself with a stuffed up 3 week old infant, in a moment of weakness and pure desperation I was not only ordering the nose frida, but paying extra for overnight shipping. I’m so glad I did and so is baby. With a little bit of saline, it clears even the stuffiest of noses right up!!!

I know what you're thinking. I know EXACTLY what you're thinking. I thought the same thing when my husband told me about this "awesome thing he saw somewhere" that allows you to suck the snot out of your baby's nose with your mouth. Ummm, excuse me? No. Well, it finally happened: my husband was right, and I was wrong. 1 or 2 little "baby colds" later, half a dozen restless if not completely sleepless nights later, I sent him out to purchase this miracle tube. And miracle it is, my friends. First of all, it's not as disgusting as I first thought. It's not like siphoning gas - the snot isn't going to fly up into your mouth. Check out the picture. The snot is collected into a tube at the baby's nose, and then you blow it back out into a nearby tissue or wipe. And unlike the infamous "bulb syringe", this works. Picture this: You're up in the middle of the night because baby is snoring and grunting. He can't breathe. Again. You lay him down on the changing table and grab the bulb syringe and depress it, and stick it into his nose. It slooooowly regains its shape and sucks out a bit of snot. You depress it again. By this time your baby is screaming like he's being squashed by an elephant. The problem with the bulb thingy is that it doesn't always "suck" fast enough, leaving you with a screaming baby. Enter nosefrida: You grab it and place the end of the tube into the baby's nose. You suck quickly. BAM! You can see what's coming out. You see your progress. Within 5 seconds, your baby's airway is clear and you pick him up to comfort him. It's easy to clean. It's transportable. It's ready whenever you need it. It's fast-acting. This thing ROCKS. Oh, and don't act like you're grossed out by this review.. If you already have a baby, no doubt you have seen and read things much, much grosser. And if you don't have one yet, well, let's just say that your conversation topics and amazon searches will become totally shameless, and snot is the least disgusting thing you will experience and talk about. To address other reviewers' germ concerns: I'm just cracking up at the number of 1-star reviews saying, "I GOT THE EXACT SAME COLD AS MY BABY OMG!!" Don't let being afraid of breathing your baby's exhalations that you don't order this. You're going to be all around his sicky germs regardless of what aspirator you use.

It motherfreaking works. Must have item.
If you or someone you know is having a baby. Buy this. It is so much better than the bulbs and it's so much faster. I've included a picture of what I got from my son's nose just this afternoon

BUY IT. DOOOO IT. It does it's job well! IT SUCKS!!
USE THIS!!! I don't care if you don't like germs, or are squeamish, or think the concept is gross. THE CONCEPT IS GENIUS. I bought this for my first kiddo almost 5 years ago, SO GLAD I DID. After about a month or two of use I realized that the traditional nasal bulb aspirator is absolutely useless and worthless. Somewhere along the way I stumbled upon this magical snot sucker and have never looked back. I feel like Oprah should give these out to her crowd. The included filters do what they're designed to do: stop you from sucking snot all the way into your mouth. It even stops the super watery stuff. Kids can get GROSS SICK. Those little replaceable filters stop all of that nonsense from going into the tube/ mouth assembly. It's ridiculously easy to sanitize and keep clean. The fantastic thing is that you can SEE what's come out of your kiddo's nose, and determine if it's been effective immediately. With the bulb aspirators it's a guessing game and WHO KNOWS WHAT'S IN THERE! The nose insert part of the tube is tapered just right for infant noses to older babies noses. I used mine pretty much until my son learned how to blow his nose by himself. And i just bought one for the baby girl I'm gonna have.

Best snot sucker EVER!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE our Nose Frieda. Yeah, yeah it's gross ducking your kids snot but you know what's worse? A sick, miserable baby. Our pediatrician even recommended the frieda over those little blue bulbs. I can duck more junk out and it's so much easier to clean and sanitize. There is NO WAY any boogies can get back into your mouth when you use this product. The gross factor Iis just all in your head. If you have a kid - order this! If you know someone with a kid - order this!

Babies aren’t mouth breathers
Seriously the most amazing gadget! In case anyone isn’t aware, babies are not mouth breathers. I did not know this until a frantic trip to the doctor with my 4 month old. So when your little one has a clogged nose they really do suffer. I came across this product and figured I’d give it a try since the bulb-looking suction I got from the hospital was close to useless. Hands down I’ll never use anything else. This is easy to essemble, anyone can use it, provides the suction to handle big jobs, and baby will actually get some sleep at night with a clear nose.

Helped my baby sleep!
I bought this before my daughter was born after reading so many positive reviews and recommendations. When she got her first cold at a few months old the usual bulb from the hospital worked fine. When she was sick and over six months old I finally decided to get over myself and use the nose frida. Now she's sick again at 14 months old with a terrible runny nose and my appreciation for this product has grown even more. She was having such a hard time breathing through her nose and it was keeping her awake. I was able to suck out her nose and she's now sleeping peacefully. It gets so much more out than the bulb. I love that you can use it with one hand in case I don't have help. My baby still isn't a fan but I can't deny the results afterwards. Mama you're already getting covered with vomit, poop and pee, dealing with snot shouldn't be a big deal. Especially if the results mean you and your baby get extra sleep. Trust me it gets easier after the first time of use.

Worth every penny. Get this INSTEAD of the bulb!
There's nothing I can say that hasn't been said. I went so far as to buy the bulb that comes apart so there's no mold. But I feel like. I'm Impaling my 3 month old every time I use it. I checked this out many times when I was pregnant but it seemed so basic for 20 bucks. Little did I know. The boogies never hit the filter so we haven't changed it yet. And I take a little nasal saline on a baby q tip and clean up the crusties but this thing sucks. Maybe I'd use saline if the bogfies were dry but we use twice a day and always snag a good booger. I'm officially the boogie monster now and proud of it. This should seriously be a gift for every new mom. I know it's going to be a godsend when she's sick.
