This is The One!!
Absolutely awesome! This is truly the PERFECT vegetable peeler! Okay, maybe peeling vegetables is not exactly thrill-a-minute stuff, but this peeler makes it so fast and easy it's almost fun! It's a simple, even classic, design and it feels really good in the hand. Smooth. Comfortable. Plus the blade is nice and sharp, and it's angled exactly right, to just peel the dickens out of . . . whatever. Potatoes, carrots, zucchini, whatever. Really, it's a champ. Now there are some veggie peelers out there (I'm not naming any names, but some of them look just like this one, in the ad photos), and they are, well . . . junk. Frustrating, painful to hold, clunky, dull, and almost completely useless. But now that I've found this one, I'll never have to struggle with another junky peeler!! As a side note: my son is a foodie and loves to cook, but he's never been able to use a regular vegetable peeler because of the RSS in his wrists. So I bought several different kinds of peelers for him to try out, and THIS is the one he can use, with little or no strain on his wrists. He loved it so much he peeled eight pounds of potatoes with it, (and fixed me the best potato-bacon-leek soup I've ever tasted!) I know it's hard to tell from pictures on the internet (which is why I had to buy several, and try them all out), but this is The One! Greatest vegetable peeler in captivity! Love it love it love it!

Simple Functionality
There are fancier peelers available that come in a wide variety of colors and have different styles of grips, but the Linden Sweden out performs all of them. It's not going to win any style points, but it will peel fruits and veggies in a flash and it feels very comfortable in the hand. What else do you really want from a peeler?

Love Its Wider Path
Best peeler I have ever used. No need to wet the potatoes before peeling them. Peeler glides over carrots and potatoes, taking a wider path of skin than any other peeler I've ever used. I didn't have to keep going over the vegetables to make sure I got all the skin off, because this peeler doesn't skip. Works great for de-stringing celery. I would say I would like a little more point on the potato eyer, but that's the only thing I'd ever change on it.

HOLY COW! This is the one!
I had an off-brand cheap chrome peeler for 25 years, and still preferred it to the trendy "ergonomic" brands that kept getting the peels clogged in them, but were sharper than my antique. I finally went looking on Amazon (never found this type in store) and thought "hey! This looks like it, and even has a brand name of some sort." When it arrived, I cut myself (sorta) when unpacking, and knew we were on the right track. Like a brand new and sharp version of my old one, but even better construction. It's a winner for sure

The Only Peeler Worth Owning
Don't waste your money on trendy new designer peelers with padded grips, blade guards, unique shapes, etc. This is the only peeler you will ever want or need. Heck, for the price, buy two so you'll always have an extra! Okay, so it looks like the peeler your grandma used. But that's because the design is tried and true. It doesn't need to be bulky or come in rainbow colors. It's perfectly balanced in your hand, and the blades are positioned ideally for a thin cut with just the flick of a wrist. You'll be able to quickly peel a mountain of vegetables. Glad Amazon has the review system, which is how I found this item! It will peel virtually any vegetable except a tomato (which shouldn't be done with a peeler anyway)!

Everything I hoped for!
BG: I grew up using the original, reliable, all-metal, simple Ecko vegetable peeler. For me, it was the best-ever in terms of usability. Its simple, direct design allowed easy, quick, proficient peeling of vegetables. For far too many years, I haven't found that model anywhere and have been struggling to find a reliable, comparable peeler. I wasted a ton of money and energy in this pursuit. Imagine my delight when I used this Linden Sweden Jonas Peeler for the first time last evening! It worked exactly like my old (and I mean OLD) Ecko! The handle seemed longer, so I had to hold it a half-inch or three-quarters of an inch closer to the peeling end. Once I made that slight adjustment, I was rewarded with proper tension, reliable, easy peeling of carrots. I liked this peeler so much that I ordered more this morning.

JUST LIKE MOTHER USE TO HAVE!!!
This peeler is excellent. It is just like mother use to have. Make sure that it is the original peeler from Linden Sweden, inc. The blade moves freely in its place to take on the contour of what ever you are peeling. Does excellent with all potatoes, ginger, carrots and more. Nice sharp blade. Using less pressure works best, and you can peel forward and back or just one direction. Peeling one direction -- away from you -- is the safest, however. This little tool makes peeling a breeze. I wish it did hard-boiled eggs! (Just to mention --this is the fourth peeler I purchased trying to get one that was like mother use to have...FINALLY I FOUND IT! )

Favorite Peeler
Great peeler. It's the one my mom had in the early 1960's (she still has it,still works well) and I jumped at the chance to buy the same one for myself. The peeler blade part is longer than the blade on my Oxo Good Grips peeler. The swivel 18/10 stainless blade is precision ground and beveled, and is very sharp and works well when used by lefties or righties. It can go in the dishwasher and is guaranteed not to rust for 10 years. The one my mom has is probably 50 years old, always goes in the dishwasher, and hasn't rusted yet. I like the handle (easy to hold and use) and overall it is very easy to peel with. Under 6 dollars, so how can you lose? Definitely my favorite peeler. I don't know about earlier reviews claiming it's not the "real" Jonas, this peeler came in a Jonas package and is clearly stamped with the name. It's the "real thing."

Quick and effective
This is awesome. I love the slightly curved handle, which is comfortable and secure. The blade is sharp and effective. I've bought a couple now: two for me (I use them every day, sometimes more than once, so one is always in the dishwasher) and one for a family member whose old one got lost in a move. I've tried a couple of other brands over the years. The cheap brands only save you a dollar or so, and they are less comfortable and definitely less sharp. The worst ones don't have a swivel head, so they're hard to use on curved things such as potatoes and apples. Pampered Chef used to have a similar one, but it was more expensive. This is the best value.

The Jonas is the one that works - be careful which Swedish model you buy!
The Jonas peeler is super-sharp and does the job. I ordered after peeling 5 pounds of potatoes this Thanksgiving, when I finally had to admit that my 40-year-old Made in the USA Ekco "Slip-Pruf" peeler was just not as sharp as it should be anymore. After 40 years. Sigh. After reading the reviews, I decided to try both "Made In Sweden" models - the Jonas and the Sveico. Others have noticed that they appear to be the same. I would say that the handle on each IS exactly the same - the handle that is stamped "Made in Sweden". However, the blades are not the same - I could see that before I used them. I had a feeling that the Jonas would be the superior blade, and I was right. This peeler, the Jonas, is the one that works, and works great. The other one couldn't create a single peel on a carrot. Be sure to buy the Jonas.
