I've used these before to actually cut linoleum so I already knew that they worked great for that. I actually bought this particular one because Amazon suggested it for pumpkin carving. I was a little skeptical, but it totally won me over. It makes that middle gradation where the light shines through the pumpkin beyond easy. It did go out of my way to scrape it pretty thin from the back for optimum brightness, but it was super fast.

I wanted to try some carving and it works for me and a great price. I like how you can store everything inside of it because I tend to lose small things. Thanks!

This craft tool was useful when my son needed a more hands-on, fun and creative thing to do while we were traveling. The fad passed quickly, but it was very worthwhile at the time.

I love that there are so many heads and they fit in the barrel of the instrument so they don't get lost. The tips are quite sharp. I didn't realize that the tool I was using in my art class was dull until I got this and it just breezed through the linoleum.

I am an amateur carving but this tool really help us to do the job ! About the carving block: the white one is way too soft and it breaks too easy, I would recomend the pink one.

I bought this for an art class for printmaking and it's the only brand worth buying. It was comfortable to use and performed well.

Super fast shipping for Uber-sharp tools. Simple, relatively easy to use (if you know what you're doing!) with a wide selection of carving nibs, this is a must have for Art. I bought these for my daughter, who is an AP Art student in high school, and she made the most incredible block print out of a linoleum tile! They didn't teach that to me in high school! She was very pleased with the tool set, so I highly recommend it to you!

This Speedball Cutter is such fun to use to carve your own rubber stamps. I just watched some video's on line and got the gist of how to do it. At first I thought it was easier said than done. But after a few tries, I love it. Have already made 3 stamps. I tried a very detailed drawing first which I do NOT recommend doing. Start out simple and you will enjoy your Speedball Cutter more and not get discouraged. I bought some dollar store erasers to carve, they are made of rubber, hence a rubber stamp. Lots of fun~

I bought this set at the last minute knowing I had the same set somewhere in my storage. I needed to use it for pumpkin carving and didn't have time to go through boxes. I have to say that the quality is tried and true over the years. I bought my first set 30 years ago for linoleum printing (wooden handled) and have used it for other things as well over the years. I bought another set ten years ago to teach a class and the quality was still there and now this set also. I bought the same set again because I knew it would work for pumpkin carving and the price isn't expensive.

I don't usually find the need to review products I've purchased on Amazon... I know, I know... If the vendors could give me a rating based strictly on my reliability to leave a review, I would have negative stars! BUT... I love this thing so darn much... And I read most of the comments/ reviews and rely pretty heavily on what customers have experienced with the products... So I want anyone who's thinking about using this to know it is amazing! I purchased my cutter last year, in hopes of creating my own rubber stamp... And while that was a total disaster... I have found the only fault was user error and not the product itself... This year I was in awe of the loads upon loads of photos on Pinterest of "etched" pumpkins... I know how to etch glass, and have tools just for that... But I immediately thought of this tool to try out. It worked phenomenally... Now if i could just find more assortments of different blades or maybe a loop to lock into this bad boy then I would be in heaven!
