Walnut Hollow 10 piece assortment of basswood.

Great little bag of blocks. Some small ones for a small figure and some just about right for carving little people. No knots, clear straight grain and no splits or checking. Seems like a good way to get started in whittling or carving of small figures. It might be less expensive to cut up a big piece or basswood, but these sure are handy to have around when you get the urge to sit down and make some wood chips.

Beginner friendly

I'm a beginner and found this easy to shape. Is so soft that it can be handle easily, therefore I'm trying to make this tiny bird and I'm satisfied with the process. The only thing I noticed about the wood is that it kind of peels off in certain directions while trying to shape it, but for the rest is perfect.

It's wood. Pretty sure it's made of at least mostly wood. Very woody. Not good for eating. Good for wood things.

Nice solid pieces with almost no knots. I am using these to begin my whittling career! So fat have enjoyed the density and ease of carvability of this wood. Sizes are perfect for small beginner projects.

Great beginner carving wood

The wood is really easy to carve. It is quite soft, so it makes carving easy with a bunch of different carving tools. It was a great learning pack of wood to start with. I have created a few projects with it that I love.

Good variety of pieces

Ordered wood and a knife starter kit at same time , so I could get started right away. Since I am just getting started with whittling / carving this was the easiest way to go. Is there better values for wood available ...don't know. This is something I guess I will discover going forward. The kit has a number of different precut sizes so can grab a piece and get started.

The price is more than you can get if you DO have a local supply, but it is still very reasonable for those who don't.

Great for my project!

This was the perfect size I needed for my project. The plan is to have my grand daughter help me make one for her father for Father's Day. I was able to make two pieces from this. Won't tell how you get golf ball in side
