Tough

Worked perfectly. We had used an extention cord to get it to the kitchen island for the first use so the birthday girl could sit and help. (She has a broken arm) It shaved ice just like I was hoping. Easy to assemble and very attractive. After we all had snowcones she got down from the island only to try and step over the cord. She tripped over it and the machine came crashing down to the tile floor! Didn't hurt it a bit. Tough and perfect for shaved ice anything. Tough is good for this household, Ha...

OH_H_H was that ever good!!

i use the maker to make what I call slushies. yesterday and today it has been in the low ninetys went for a 2 hour motorcycle ride before lunch and I came back I was hot, and thirsty. i got out the machine put in 4 regular ice cubes , shaved them up, put a little blue rasberry syrup in the bottom of the cup, filled it with 'snow from the machine, added a little more blue raspberry syrup on the top for color and added flavor, put in a straw. grabbed a spoon and began to eat. OH_H_H was that ever good!!!!!!! this thing is most defineately, going to get a work out this summer works just fine with regular ice cube , straight from the tray

Amazing! We’ve used the machine several times with no problems. It grinds the ice in seconds! I defiantly recommend this item to anyone whos needs an affordable snow cone maker!

Complete hit with the kids!

What a hit! Kids absolutely loved the snow cone maker. Threw a beach themed birthday party for my daughter at a pool, and the neighborhood kids all came around to get a snow cone. We bought juice concentrate instead of syrup and it worked like a charm.

Amazing! Worth the money

I used this for a school bake sale. We made a little over 70 Snow Cones in an hour! this thing is amazing, and very easy to use. We thought we needed to get small ice cubes, but we tried it with Gas Station Bagged Ice and it worked great! The kids loved it, and its not to big to pull out and use everyday if you wanted.

Love it

Myself and my 3yr old daughter both love this! It is small enough for counter, light and so convenient. the ice is soft and fine enough but not as shaved ice but better than some of the other ice made from some snow come machines I’ve seen. Are use it often and I recently purchased it I can’t wait to get their popcorn machine as well

Great item kids and wife love it!

Works great wife had gastric bypass and this was a life save along with some sugar free snow cone liquid. Was a nice cool flavorful treat that did not make her sick

The real story on ice texture

I was a little concerned because some of the reviews mentioned texture and that the ice did not shave down that much, but I went ahead and bought it anyway. I already had a big shave from another company that makes the fluffy ice and that thing is a pain to use. The best thing about the Nostalgia one is that you use regular ice maker ice. You don't need a special mold like my other machine. I start out with crushed ice from my icemaker, I am not sure if this helps but I feel like it does. The texture is not like the fluffy ice, its more like those rainbow snow cones you get from the ice cream truck. And to fill it up like the picture would take opening it and filling it 15 times. Each time you fill it. I use a 16 oz glass of crushed ice and it maybe makes 3 snow cones. It doesn't hold much in the chopper part. I initially got it for an outside summer party. I have since used it almost every day. I have 5 kids and it's been a hot summer so far. I like the look of it, I have just left it on the counter. I feel like the shelf is useless and the door feels like its going to snap when you open or close it but it works. When I am done, I scoop out most of the ice and just lay it on its side and let it drain into the sink and then I wipe it out. Very easy. Even if it only lasts the summer, I feel like I got my moneys worth out of it.

Great snow cone machine.

We have a department picnic every year and about 45 to 50 people attend. In years past we rented one of those big fancy commercial snow cone machines. This year I decided to purchase one because it would be cheaper than renting. I didn't want to purchase a big expensive commercial type because they were over $250. And that's ridiculous. So I purchased this product. I was a tad leery because of several reviews I read. But, all in all it seemed like the best product to purchase. And I made the exact right decision. Everybody was impressed by how well this machine worked. It made plenty of snow cone ice pretty quickly. One of the reviews said it did not crush ice cubes well, so I purchased two bags of ice from Sonic. What a great idea, the Sonic bag of ice was cheaper than a regular bag of ice, and the resultant snow cone ice was absolutely perfect. This product is lightweight, packs well, is easy to use, and all in all a superior product in my eyes. Great purchase.
