The box makes storing and transporting cups much easier than wrapping them in paper. It offers little physical protection, however. If you drop the box the cups within will likely shatter. I ordered two boxes and I use them to store teacups. I'm going to get bubble wrap and wrap each individual cup for added protection.

I now have several of these glassware protectors. The top has a nice zipper around the edge, there is a label on the side to identify which glassware is inside, and there are somewhat ridgid cardboard dividers inside. The various sizes are consistent relatively consistent which allows for stacking. In my case, I have then stacked 3 high with no problems. These protectors are not firm and ridgid like a heavy cardboard or plastic box; if you are looking for something that is very sturdy then don't purchase these. These protectors are made in standard sizes, not custom designed for each glassware size; some of the glassware may leave gaps above the glass top or fit loosely inside the dividers.

I bought every style of these quilted storage boxes for several sets of china and collectibles pending a major house renovation. They are beautiful, well-made, and have many size options for all types of dishes, glassware, and serving pieces. They are designed for storage, not so much for moving. If I were moving I would wrap each piece in bubble wrap before putting it in. Very pleased with my purchases!

Other reviews said not very durable, or didn't like cardboard partitions, but for my purposes and the price, they're just fine. How durable do they need to be just sitting in a closet most of the time? In fact, I have some dishes stored ON TOP of them and they support those without a problem. I get out the china maybe once or twice a year. Take it out, put it back. Done deal. The label windows are a nice perk.

I recently acquired a number of cups and saucers so my daughters could host a tea party! Because I don't have the display space for all the pieces, I was looking for a simple solution. I bought two of these, and had enough room for all my cups, and was even able to partially remove a divider to put in sugar bowls and creamers. This is a soft sided storage solution, with a partition to maintain structure. It will store well in a cabinet or drawer.

As another reviewer noted, don't stack heavy items on this, but a couple of small platters or another box of cups would be o.k. Mine had no flaws in its construction, and is just what I needed to transport cups in an old set to my daughter. The cups were on the small side, so had some space around them in this chest, which I filled by setting the cups down in a paper towel. That provided extra cushioning as well, so not a problem for me.

As many have said these are great for storing China in so it does not chip and can stay clean. However, if you are looking for storage for a move, these are a good base layer, but I would get bins for transport and another layer of protection. I also used these for smaller places or pieces that were too small for their own case.

I inherited my Mama's china when she passed away - both the set that we always used for every holiday, as well as a complete poinsettia Christmas set she loved. When I moved, I wanted to display my blue and white china in Mama's cabinet, so I purchased these to keep the china well protected in my walk-in pantry. They are not heavily quilted, but I find them to be perfectly protective and the quality very nice for the price. I purchased the cup storage, the set of four plate cases and the six piece accessory set for platters, gravy bowls, sugar & creamer, etc. After receiving the first set, I liked it so much that I reordered a complete duplicate of all of the pieces to also protect the Christmas china for storage.

Sturdy construction and some space to fit come extras. I actually have 13 place settings and I was able to make them fit. Using some bubble wrap I got all the cups, my napkin rings and my sugar and creamer bowls into the cup carrier. The separators seem sturdy. Overall, very happy.

These are very nice. I just moved from Michigan to Arizona, and I took my Mikasa everyday china along with me in a trailer, not trusting any movers with my most fragile items (what is it they say, three moves equals one fire? I'd like to avoid the fire). These are heavily padded and sized very nicely for the items I own. They are also well-made and look beautiful. They also come with separaters that are a bit upgraded and rather nice. Now, I don't recommend you test the limits of these with your own china, but I can report that after a four-day drive, nothing was broken. If you are simply storing china in these in your own home, you can rest assured that they will be just fine, barring something like a major earthquake or something like that. Bear in mind that this particular set is just for cups. I actually packed a bit of extra padding across the top before zipping it up, just for extra protection.
