This actually some really good paper, I do a lot of auto body work and use this paper in a lot grits from 36 to 400. It is relatively inexpensive compare to the bigger name brands and the quality is excellent. Ive never had an issue with grit transfer and it sticks to my dura block perfectly.

This strip sandpaper has been terrific for lapping the soles of woodworking planes, flattening the backs of plane irons and chisels, and for flattening Japanese water stones such as Kai Japanese Professional Knife Sharpening Stone. The pictures show how I mount a strip of this sandpaper on a scrap of granite countertop (32" x 4" x 1.25"). Some shops that install granite countertops will let you get a piece of their scrap to use in your shop for sharpening. They might not charge for it, either. I prefer the granite strips over plate glass--in case of accidents the granite is kinder to clean up. One of the usual challenges with lapping a plane sole or a chisel back is the need for many short, repetitive strokes. By using longboard sandpaper you are set up for a very long stroke. Work is finished faster, and with fewer changes of sandpaper. The fourth picture shows a Stanley #80 scraper that I reconditioned. I had the sole flattened in two minutes. True story. Lapping that sole was faster than the spray painting. I love this method with long sandpaper.

Was dubious to try since I've only used dry backed, pre-cut to length sandpaper on my inline sander for bodywork. Very impressed! The adhesive is not over sticky, the sandpaper doesn't tear instantly on the tool ends, and doesn't load up immediately. The old sandpaper I thought I really liked is trash compared to this. Loving the roll stock! Easy to cut to my length preference, and easier to store. Bought a bunch of different grits and really glad I bought this style. Only downside is if you drop the roll while cutting...I had to re-wrap about 10 feet back onto the roll. It rolls really easily across the floor when you are holding the cutting end of the roll! Lesson learned there to face the wall behind the workbench and not parallel to it when cutting. And to try to pay more attention to what I'm doing and not be a klutz!

The best PSA backed paper for block sanding. The adhesive is open, no paper protecting the sticky side, so keep them dry and clean. They stick well to all of the blocks I have, including foam, rubber and various wood shapes. Dura-gold cuts very well and keeps cutting longer than the previous brand of rolls I used.

I ordered the Dura-Gold Extra Long 40 yd. roll of long sander abrasive in 4 different grits. They have an adhesive backing which makes them stick very well coupled with the compression holder on my machine. I didn't really need the adhesive but it works great. This is a very good abrasive which works well and is not horribly expensive, but not cheap. I'm very happy with all four grits of paper, 220, 150,120, and 80.

Been using this sand paper for some time now. I love the fact that it comes in a roll and with just the right amount of adhesive on the back of the paper. I use this on everything from a small block sander to my 24" straight line sander and on my 30" block sander. Just peel off the old, roll out the new, cut with scissors and back in business with minimal down time. Note: if I get into a spot where I have gummed up the paper, I usually tear off the good pieces, fold in half and put in a box on my work table. Makes great pieces to get in corners or tight areas when hand sanding

You won't find a better sanding system for precision work than this and a Durablock sanding block kit. I bought the system for a custom classic car repaint; I continue to use it for automotives as well as home projects. Not only will you get the best possible results, but the convenience of the sticky-backed paper (as opposed to the old fold/tear/tack of a simple sanding block) is, for me, worth twice the price. Tip - have a compressed air blower handy to clean your paper regularly and it'll last forever!

If you are building a wooden boat (or surfboard or SUP) where you need to sand a large surface and make sure it is absolutely flat with no hills or valleys to interfere with the hydro dynamics, using this sandpaper with a fairing board fits the bill. Basically, you start with a flexible strip of plywood about 2 feet long and 2.75 inches wide, glue a rubber packing to the plywood, then stick on this adhesive sandpaper. In this way you have a home made fairing board at a fraction of the price of something you would otherwise buy from a boat supply store and that works every bit as well. This sandpaper is TERRIFIC for this purpose. It also sticks well and peels easily of your rubber backing when it needs to be replaced.

I *love* this stuff. I use it to make knives, so it goes through some exceptionally abusive uses (on steel), and it holds up very, very well. Throw a little WD40 in the mix, and it's near bulletproof. The adhesive holds very well without being too sticky, which makes it easy to change strips out. I've changed my entire PSA abrasives collection over to Dura-Gold, and I've yet to be disappointed.
