Reclaimed a"fried" Airsoft battery, made it stronger!
I bought this charger hoping that it might reclaim my son's fried original battery that came with his Crossman Pulse R71. Looks like MP5. It worked! And how. On first round, I had to disassemble battery to find out which side was positive. We'll get around that next round. The LEDs worked as described in 1-page manual. Battery became warm but never really hot. When the green LED came on, we disconnected, put the lid back on the battery clip, and tested it. Both faster than before and stronger. My son was delighted. Me, too, obviously. Strictly speaking, the battery we have is rated at 300 maH, and the charger should not be used on something rated under 900. I put it in an isolated area and monitored it pretty closely, just in case. there doesn't seem to be any problem, and the gun works better now than before. Unless repeated use causes a problem (we'll keep watching), this looks like a complete win.

Excellent NiMH charger.
I have an old original Black & Decker "Dust Buster" from the 1970's that I wanted to resurrect from "the dead." I had used it for decades to do little clean-up jobs and always kept it plugged in and charged. Over time I had to replace the NiCD battery pack a number of times. Long ago I had been able to get the packs already made up from Black & Decker, but that was ancient history. (I read that NASA originally asked B&D to develop what became the Dust Buster for the space program in the late 1960's.) For some reason (I think it got left in a spare room and forgotten) I stopped using the Dust Buster until recently, when I had a small spill of crumbs and thought, "Hey, I'll use the old Dust Buster." I wasn't surprised that despite being plugged in it was dead. It turned out that the wall-wort battery charger that the Dust Buster used had died some time ago and the NiCDs were gone as well. So I ordered up some NiMH batteries this time and built my own battery pack. Then I needed to charge these new batteries, but the old-style charger for the NiCDs wouldn't work well with new NiMHs, as they are completely different from NiCDs in design, materials and construction. I needed a "smart charger" that works with the battery type I was updating to, and this Tenergy Smart Universal Charger seemed to be the way to go. The charger comes with a quick-connect type of plug and an additional adapter plug with "alligator clamps" that connects to it for simple charging situations. I bought some quick-connect adapter plugs at a local hobby store (they're used a lot in charging the batteries used in RC car racing) and added one to my new battery pack in the Dust Buster. To charge the D'Buster I simply hook the Tenergy's quick-connect to the mate on the D'Buster. (I mounted the one on the D'Buster in the end of the vacuum's handle, as opposed to the original battery port that was on the bottom of the unit and plugged in to the wall mount plate that the vacuum hung on. It looks as if Black & Decker designed it that way.) This setup has turned out to work great. The D'Buster is still stored in its wall-cradle just as it always had, and it can be charged with the Tenergy either while it's hanging in the wall-cradle or simply sitting on a table. The new batteries last a long time, give the D'Buster more vacuum power than it had originally and is charged much more quickly. The Tenergy Smart Universal Charger for NiMH/NiCDs is a good buy and well made. Highly recommended.

Works great!
This worked great for trying to charge the rechargeable battery from Spike the Dragon. It even told me that the battery was no good. We ordered a new battery and changed out the connections. Hooked it up to this charger and Spike has new life!

Works with spike the dinosaur
Excellent charger. Needed for charging spike dinosaur. Some reviews say it didn't work but it did for me... Kinda. The included adapters would not fit but it also comes with alligator clips which easily clip onto the battery pack. Main reason for leaving the review is to save people money from buying the $120 charger on sale as a replacement. In the future, I will research expensive toys more for replacement parts before pulling the trigger.

Works for SPIKE the Ultra Dinosaur!
I got a Spike the Ultra Dinosaur off Craigslist for my daughter. It was pretty cheap. After a few hours of play, it stopped working. My daughter was devastated. Only a couple of lights would flash on his back and she thought it was broken. I had no idea Spike's battery had to be charged. I went online and wasn't able to find the charger for less than $60. I saw this and bought it for a fraction of the cost found on other websites and auctions sites. When the product arrived it was a little intimidating to me. Lots of little cords with different ends (sorry, not that electronics savvy, have no idea what they are called). The ends that worked with Spike's battery were the alligator type clips/clamps. You just attach the positive clip to the positive part of the battery and the negative to the negative (it's marked). In a few hours (or less) Spike's battery was charged and my daughter was ecstatic. Awesome purchase!

Works excellent recharging hybrid battery modules
Has worked like a charm to balance 40 modules on a Plexus hybrid battery. If situation ever comes up again I will invest in the charge/discharge unit that has the volt meter built in. I had to frequently check the voltage of each module during charging which I knew I was going to have to do using this base model charger. I just needed to know that charger would work on 7.2 volt battery module before I spent 5 times more on the more advanced model.

Nice battery, even nicer with a reasonable price.
My boat came with a super simple (cheap) plug in charger for its battery. There was no way to tell what was going on, when the battery was charged, etc. This charger while simple to operate gives you the information you need. Is the battery defective? It will tell you. Is it fully charged, they have that covered. A real bonus is that the manufacturer supplied some extra connectors with it for hooking it up for various other projects. Its priced right, does a great job on batteries, its got a temperature probe to avoid hurting the battery and its affordable. What more can you want??

Inexpensive, reliable way to charge 6 to 10 cell NiCad and NiMh packs without issue
Third or fourth one of these I've purchased. Inexpensive, reliable way to charge 6 to 10 cell NiCad and NiMh packs without issue. The thermal sensor should be rubber banded or Velcro strapped to the battery being charged to insure there aren't any thermal events (fires!), but if you charge installed packs, just sticking it into the battery compartment seems to work. I've always been happy with Tenergy chargers, this one is no exception. Has 'Tamiya' style plug installed and includes an adapter for the smaller version and alligator clips making it a very versatile charger.

If You Have Spent the Money for an RC Tank, You Must Buy This
This is well-made, performs exactly as described, and collapses the time line to recharge the type of battery which generally accompanies most 1/16 rc tanks. The charger most manufacturers provide will overcharge, and do not indicate when a full charge is achieved. It is just the right piece of additional equipment. Highly recommended.

Airsoft!
I use this product for airsoft. I bought around 3 AEG's. Decided to charge a 7.2v 500mAh battery brick type. It charged in less then a hour! Next I am going to charge a 8.4v 1600mAh Stick type. After that a 9.6v 1600mAh Large Butterfly Nun-chuck type. I will review those as well. Time will tell if this product lasts. BTW it comes with mini connector, small connector and large connecter. Quite happy at the moment with this smart charger. Dicks Out For Harambe!
