This transom saver is great. I use it to support a Yamaha 25hp 2-stroke on the back of an Alumacraft V14 riding on an EZ-Loader trailer. I had to drill a hole in the rear cross beam of the trailer to mount the bracket. Overall, the setup is super easy to set up or take down at the boat ramp. Most importantly, this easily transfers the weight of the motor from transom to the trailer, gains lots of ground clearance for the lower unit, and no worries about motor bouncing around while trailering on the road. Highly recommend.

Definitely worth the money.

Very impressed with the quality of the metal, heavy duty construction. Instructions were good and all of the hardware was there. Comes with 2 different straps, use the one that fits your outboard. My trailer didn’t have a roller to attach the support to so the bracket to the rear cross member worked perfectly. Used this on a 15ft boat with a 25hp Johnson.

Best I've ever used

This transom saver is very heavy duty as well as heavy compared to an aluminum one. Fits well and really keeps my 150 hp outboard secure. My trailer uses a roller for one end of the transom saver. I had to cut 2 inches off one end of the " U " on the saver so it didn't hit the trailer itself. This only took a few minutes with my Dremel. A great product at a very reasonable price.

Great product, easy to assemble and definitely does the job

I had this assembled and fitted to my boat/trailer in about 30 minutes. I tried it in a couple of different settings to get the motor tilt right where I wanted it. This really absorbs the weight of the motor shaft and prevents bouncing. I am much more confident in trailering the boat with this, knowing it is supporting the motor. I can see that it has eliminated the bouncing of my motor while I drive down the road, and the motor no longer turns side to side while trailering. This price is so much better than Bass Pro.

Save your boat transom and do it easily!

This is a fantastic way to trailer your motor. The quick turn off to remove is engineering genus. My grand kids 9 & 10 install and remove this when we go crabbing. It is so nice not to have to go under the trailer/ wet boat to hook the end up, especially when it's muddy. It totally stopped the motor from bouncing on some really rough roads. It's solid and comes with enough adjustment you could put it on about any trailer.

The package / box was ripped when it arrived, but thankfully all the parts were still in the box. Other than that - this is THE BEST transom saver I have ever come across. I've shopped many marine stores and looked online. This one is super strong and extremely adjustable. The store bought one I have wasn't long enough and skeg would scrape on the ground at some entrances and driveways. This one will adjust longer to keep the motor higher up. One person commented on the loose fit... simply wrap it with duct tape a few times and then assemble and bolt it together - walla - no rattle.

Very affordable. I have been dreading my transom snapping off as I cross the many railroad tracks on the way to our favorite fishing spot. We have an 850 thunderbolt on our 15' tri hull. It's a lot of weight on an old boat. I can finally release my sphincter while driving. One less thing to worry about. Just have to remember to take it off before launching. Yes. I have had to fish it out of the water twice now. Yep, I'm dumb. That's ok. My transom is protected now.

Great Product.

Now, I bought this knowing it would be a couple inches longer, as I was looking for a 23” replacement. Because I am using the “U yoke” instead of the mount twist, and the roller on the trailer sits back a couple inches this means that my motor does not protrude out any further. This is most likely overkill (it’s heavy duty)for my motor as this support has a lot more to it than the original. Less than 10 minutes to have it configure for my boat. I only needed for my set up was the “U yoke”, Main bar (the bent one) and “V” bushing bar. The details: 17’ Aluminum bass boat. Johnson 60hp short outboard.

Great

I use this on my 9.9 Merc 4 stroke after I modified things a bit, and left one or more? extension bars out. I really like the way you can just twist it to attach to its trailer bracket. On my old unit, I used to have to get down on my knees to attach to the trailer bracket. The trailer bracket didn't match the mounting holes on my trailer so I just had some new holes drilled in the bracket to match the trailer bolt holes. Its plenty sturdy for a Merc 9.9.

I can't believe how well made this transome saver is for a low price.

This transom saver is outstanding! I could not believe how well made it is. Welded and made out of heavy metal; it is not a 'Flimsy' piece of tin!! Of course it's has a great adjustment range and the ends are well made too. I definitely would buy it again especially for the low price, you can't beat it.
