Great product.
Great product..Holds spare tire high enough tire won't hit the ground while launching and at a perfect angle you won't damage your boat when putting the boat on the trailer.. Awesome

Worth the money
This is a very beefy design with the studs attached to the carrier vs others that use loose bolts.

Best trailer spare tire mount I found
This is a fantastic spare tire carrier. Its components are strong and the design worked perfect for my fishing boat trailer (trailer is 18.5 feet long and boat is 16 feet long). When watching a friend of mine pull his bass fishing boat out of the water, I noticed his spare tire rubbed on the ramp. He had the kind of mount that is just two "U" shaped threaded bolts. This means the tire was mounted on center with his trailer frame; far too low for my comfort. So, I wanted something that would mount the tire higher and far enough away from the hull of the boat. I looked at several different kinds of spare tire mounts and found this one to be the best designed product. It raises the tire up a few inches and angels it away from the hull with plenty of clearance when I am trying to drive my boat on the trailer. It does have a hole that looks like it will work for locking a tire down, but not sure if that is what the hole was intended for. I instead opted to use a bicycle cable lock to secure the spare to the trailer frame. I did make one modification to this item. If you look at the product picture, you see two holes at the top of the trailer frame mounting bracket which are the primary holes for the bolts. These made the mount hang about two inches lower than I liked. Therefore, I measured the bolts from the bottom most holes and drilled two new top holes that were a little lower than the original top holes. This raised up the assembly to a level I felt would prevent any chance of the spare tire rubbing on the boat launches. I am very happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone who has 14" or smaller spare tires for their boat trailer. It may fit larger tires, but I have not tried it.

A great carrier, albeit a little expensive
This high mount spare tire carrier is great. The price is a little more than other types / brands, but none of the others would work very well with my boat. I needed a mount that would get the tire away from the hull of my boat. There wasn't much room on the trailer for a spare and this worked great. If you don't need the angle / high mount then I am sure you can find others that will work just as well for half the price. As you can see from my attached picture, this one was needed.

Solid and well built.
Mount is solid and well built and securely holds the spare at an angle that works well when the boat is loaded. Being galvanized I expect it is going to last as long as the trailer.

Very heavy duty
This is so much better than the one I had on my trailer. Very heavy duty and sits at a great angle at the front of the boat. Literally only took a few minutes to install

Worked great for my trailer.
I used this on trailer for a 20' boat. Trailer has 15" wheels. I had to move the studs in the mount to fit the hole pattern on the tire. All installation went smooth, the hardest part was lifting the tire at a downside angle to the mounting. Once I got one lug on, it was easy. The lowest point on the tire is about 7 1/2 inches above the ground, however I measured the lowest point on the trailer and it was about the same distance. There is a hole in one of the studs. I assumed that this was for a cotter pin for safety. The instructions suggest a chain around the tire for safety purposes also.

Very nice product, works well for me
Well made quality unit. Tilts the tire outward to provide more clearance between it and the boat. Nicely galvanized, I like the fixed lug nuts which fit my wheel perfectly. They could be moved if you use larger or smaller bolt circle than on my ST175/80 R13. Moving the pressed in lug nuts however, doesn't look like fun.

I'm happy with my spare tire carrier.
Put mine on today - easy install. The mounted spare tire is not vertical, and I thought it would be hard to mount the spare on the carrier, but it wasn't such a big deal. My old spare carrier was bolted much closer to the hitch, and the tire dragged on the ground on my steep driveway. This one, due to the angle, let me mount the spare much further down the trailer, toward the axle. I now have plenty of clearance above the driveway and away from my boat. I'm happy with my purchase.

The only solution that would work for me (short of keeping the spare in the bed of my truck)
Super awesome mount. The only option for getting a spare tire on the trailer for my 17' jet boat. Extremely high quality and I expect it will outlast the trailer! For my trailer and the 175/80D13 tire, there is plenty of clearance under the tire when mounted.
