I started making my own bread with a bread machine because I was tired of throwing away bread. I live alone and those two-pound loaves sold in stores are just too much bread. I either have to throw bread away because it molds at room temperature, or because of freezer- burn. Now I make my own, one-pound loaves which are the perfect size for me. I got one of these to keep the bread in and it works great. I live at 8,000 feet altitude and the air is dry, so I keep the vent closed. But, there are occasions when I bake a loaf and don't have time to fully cool the loaf afterwards before leaving the house, so when that happens I leave the vent open to keep condensation from building up in the bread box. I got a second one for the times I make a quick bread too.

I ordered these Keepers with the knowledge that I may end up returning them as I wasn't quite convinced they would be the money saver they are advertised as. Boy was I pleasantly surprised! I love fresh spring and baby lettuce which is hard to keep fresh - it gets wet and limp and slimy and I end up throwing about 20% away every week. I used this - careful to follow directions with the venting and water addition and watched with anticipation to see if I would need a return label. Much to my pleasant surprise it does what is says. My lettuce was kept fresh and crisp, no limpy slimy stuff to sift through to see if you can salvage enough for that last salad. This keeper should pay for itself in no time at all and I will enjoy a much crisper, fresher salad because of it. Prepworks you did good!

I purchased the lettuce keeper about 8 months ago and have used it constantly. As a single person household, it takes some time to eat through a 3 head package of romaine, even eating it everyday. I have saved quite a few $s storing produce in the keeper. I mainly use it for leaf lettuce and fresh herbs. I combine items in the container, and separate them horizontally using a paper towel, instead of the vertical plastic divider. In spite of sometimes having items with different moisture requirements, I have experienced little spoilage. Generally, the romaine lasts at least 2+ weeks from purchase date. Today, I purchased another lettuce keeper and the smaller veggie/berry keeper from a local retailer because I have been so pleased with the product. It does take up a fair amount of space in the fridge so it is a good idea to note the dimensions and measure them inside your refer before purchasing.

This comes with its own moisture disc with lid storage for keeping brown sugar soft. The disc has to be removed from the lid, soaked for 15 minutes, and wiped dry on the surface first; but when you put it in contact with the sugar after that, it will keep the sugar soft and lump free for several months, if necessary. I don't bake over the summer and any left over brown sugar has to weather those months. The natural humidity in the air isn't enough and the apple slice trick gives only limited success. I keep the damp disk against the sugar and everything stays loose. I check once a month and redampen the disk if necessary. This method has saved me from throwing out more sugar bricks than I care to remember over the years. If the container is empty, or the sugar is sealed in its original bag, store the disc in the lid where it never gets lost. This also works with turbinado or demarara sugar, too; but not as well.

I was looking for a long time for a "bread box" that would keep my bread maker bread. And this one does the job perfectly. It has a knob to either let some air in or no air in that keeps the bread so moist. And it slides to create the perfect size. Another great feature is it has a built in cutting board. So all you have to do is open and cut without dirtying up dishes.

Rarely does the best choice of function come at the cheapest price but here is your chance! I looked at this for over a year before making my purchase. It just kept popping up in my searches but I wasn't sure it would seal out enough air to keep bread fresh. It does it's job very well! If you've been uncertain as I was have no fear, if you want function, this is it. And actually, even though I thought it would not be very asthetically appealing, you know, like an oak roll top bread box or some tin with beautiful floral motiffs, it turns out that nothing can beat the asthetic appeal of Momma's homebaked fresh breads! Looking at that fresh bread makes you imagine all sorts of scrumptious excuses for grabbing the serrated bread knife and knocking off a slice of goodness to appease that craving for something substantially pleasing! And now there's no excuse to stop you, what with no bags to unfold, no cutting board to get out, hardly a mess to clean up! So go ahead and indulge! Now, if your trying to resist breads you might should go for something different that would allow you to hide your stash away from lust laiden eyes! A few tips: Tilt it to the left (right side up) as you slide the inner compartment to the right. This will allow you control over the cutting board. You'll get it. When loaf is short enough to lay the cut face down on the cutting board and still close it, try that. It may keep the loaf even longer.

I bought this for baby formula because I hate the tin cans. This perfectly hold 2-29oz cans of powdered formula and the leveller is great. Seems very air tight. I put command hooks on the front to hold the scoop. I'm all about making things easy so I tell everybody that will listen!

This is a great unit for keeping lettuce fresh for longer. I have intentionally let the lettuce stay longer than usual to test this and it has worked well. It is definitely a large unit though so it will need quite a bit of space in the refrigerator. We normally purchase prewashed lettuce from a wholesale club and the large container fits into this unit.

I really think this is a really great product for anyone that would want to store flour or other loose baking materials. I bought this so that I could specifically store my flour. The container itself is made of a sturdy plastic material that washes well. The flour container has a leveler which is great for all my cooking and baking needs. It stores all of my flour from my Meijer brand bag so it is nice not having to store the little bit of flour left over in my kitchen. I always forget that I have a little left over and waste money buying more. I do not foresee this breaking at any time in the near future. My cabinets are now so organized and I do not have flour spilling anywhere in my kitchen anymore. IT is so incredibly wonderful. After buying this I also bought the brown sugar container. I also so bought the powered sugar container. I will continue to look for products to buy from this company. I also ended up buying an extra flour container so that I would be able to store my sugar in there. All of my Meijer brand sugar easily fits very nicely in this container. I would definitely recommend this product to others.

I've used this container for 3 years and it has become a staple in my refrigerator. Every few weeks I wash romaine lettuce and leaf spinach and place it in the container separating the two different leafs with the divider that is included. I've read some of the 1 star reviews and they talked about how they followed the instructions and placed water in the bottom. I guess I never read the instructions because I don't put water in the bottom and my lettuce and spinach usually last approximately 2 weeks. My process is to cut and wash the leafy greens and then spin dry them. Then I place them in the container with the vent open. Any moisture seeps down to the bottom of the container through the vents preventing them from sitting in water and rotting early. Be careful using the dishwasher with this thing because I do have issues with the lid cracking, but I can still close the container. I recommend hand washing it. I've used this item (constantly washing and refilling) for a few years so I did not drop the rating on my review because of the lid. When it finally breaks I will purchase a new one.
