Must have for dogs requiring medications
The only product my dog will take when I’m needing to hide her medication. My dog takes medication twice a day and will for the rest of her life and these have been so helpful with getting her to take the meds the past 4 years. She loves all the flavors but chicken is her favorite. I like that they are soft so I can buy the bigger size and break them up to hide her smaller pills, that way the bag lasts a lot longer and I get more bang for my buck. I also like that these stay moist and don’t dry out so I don’t have to worry about wasting any. Some brands are dry and hard upon opening but not these, they are perfect every time.

Excellent, except WATCH OUT FOR BAD BATCHES
As thousands of people have said, Greenies Pill Pockets are terrific. I don't need to repeat all that they have said except to say that my two dogs love them. I can even get the nasty tasting Tramadol into my picky Jack. What I most wanted to tell was that you might watch out for inferior packages. I have bought many packages of all flavors. Recently two of my packages had Pill Pockets that were so dry you could not form the Pill Pocket around the pill. The Pill Pocket just crumbled. Amazon was excellent with their return policy and corrected the situation. I'm thinking of anyone who tries the Pill Pockets for the first time and gets these dry ones. They, of course, would be dissatisfied. So, if the Pill Pocket isn't malleable like soft Play-doh, then you have a bad batch. You should be able to easily form it around the pill or capsule without any crumbling. I buy the ones for capsules and use a half at a time for Jack's Rimadyl and a half for his Tramadol. I also buy more than one flavor at a time to switch it up so he doesn't get bored. I think he likes peanut butter the best.

Why didn't I invent these?
This product pretty much speaks for itself and doesn't really need my review. But, I will offer my two cents none the less. Pill pockets are one of those inventions that probably had legions of dog and cat owners scratching their head and saying "why didn't I think of this" For as long as I have had animals (and I am pretty sure I can confidently say there was never a time in my life, not even a day, when I didn't have a cat or a dog or two or three of each) I have had times when pills were a necessity. If you have pets (and judging from the fact that you're reading this review, I'd say its a safe bet that you DO have some sort of furry housemate) you know what a pain in the neck pill time can be. Well with pill pockets you have only to find a flavor your pet can't resist and its likely that pill time will get a whole lot easier. Are these foolproof? No, absolutely not. I've had dogs who have creatively chewed around the whole pill, extracting every last bit of of flavorful pill pocket and then spit the pill unceremoniously on the floor at my feet. How they do this so perfectly is beyond me. And cats are a real handful.... you constantly have to change up your tricks (one day a pill pocket, one day liver, one day a shrimp and then back to pill pockets) and still there is a good chance they wont be fooled. Still, of all the options out there for pilling I think every pet owner should keep a bag of these handy. BOTTOM LINE: Not perfect, but pretty darn good at getting your pet to take a pill

Will make your life a lot easier if you have to give lots of medication...
Great product, especially if a dog is quite ill or subject to a lot of medication. Sadly, I no longer use pill pockets because my guy is old and allergies were the reason meds were needed in the first place. In other words, the allergy is likely something in his diet and could even be an ingredient in the pill pockets. It does not matter as long as the issues are in check but I wanted to leave a review for Greenies because the pill pockets helped when he had four or so medications to take, some multiple times a day. Other methods were tried and he caught on a few times only to eat the food and leave the medicine. A funny sight when it rarely happens. Not so funny if it happens a lot. But the pill pockets worked every time. He saw it as an absolute treat when he heard the sound of the bag opening. For anyone wondering, I used the larger of the treats and put multiple small pills in one pocket. Obviously, this depends on the health of your dog, cooperation from your dog, and most importantly, the size of the dog. He is an averaged size dog with a giant block head(also very well behaved---hops in the tub if I ask him to) so swallowing larger pills was too easy---like the time he went through a screened window to chase a skunk. The same might not be true for a smaller, slightly finicky breed. If I had any complaints, the smell from the treats is rather strong(I washed my hands each time just to avoid the smell) and the ingredients in said product could probably be of a better quality---meaning lots of pet products could be made with better ingredients for the overall health of our friends. A superb idea if you ask me, particularly if you are providing a way to help give medication to sick animals as the pill pockets do. Hope this review is a help to dog lovers out there! Happy health to you and your furry friends.

Worked perfectly!
Finally I found a product that works when my dog needs to take his Sentinel pill! These actually smell really good too, like bbq'd bacon. They're a little soft which helps you "mold" them around your pill. The pills my dog used to take for fleas/heartworm monthly were tiny and never a problem to get him to take. But.. based on a company recall, repackaging and other issues now the pills and packaging are HUGE and I hate them! Trying to get him to be "tricked" by using peanut butter, cheese, or lunchmeat was challenging and unsuccessful. Now with the pill pockets he takes the pill easily and quickly. Love this genious product and will continue to purchase!

When I was told my dog would need to take ...
When I was told my dog would need to take a pill daily, I laughed... there's no way! The vet told me about these and they work perfectly. The first few times, my dog did separate the pill from the treat, dropped the pill on the floor and swallowed the treat. I solved that by gently holding my hand under her chin after I gave it to her so that she didn't have the opportunity to manipulate it. She has given up on even trying that trick now and just gladly takes it every day. It's been at least 6 months and she still comes running when she hears the package.

Can split in half to be more economical
I've been using Pill Pockets for the last year or so. My dog has never spat one back out, and I find them much easier to use than e.g., peanut butter or bread. In the past, I've used the tablet size pill pockets, but decided to try the capsule version. For roughly the same price, the capsule version is far more economical. The pill pockets are huge! You can easily split them in half to make the bag last longer. I will never go back to the tablet version again.

Absolutely worth the price. Highly recommend. See comments for stretching usage
Our dog always loved these, even as her condition deteriorated & appetite became very poor. Highly recommend. I even gave our finicky cat a taste once & he begged for more. Capsule size was most flexible & cost-effective solution for us. One Pocket holds a large capsule or several smaller pills. Since our dog's pills were small, I'd break apart one Pocket, use it to cover 3-4 individual pills & still have leftovers for before & after treats. Using Pill Pockets absolutely makes medicating less stressful & much easier for both people & pets, especially in serious situations. Couple things I wish I'd known earlier: ▪If you have pets w/long-term or deteriorating illnesses. DON'T mix meds into food. They may eat it at 1st, but as they became sicker, their appetite wanes & their pickier. They may then refuse their food even w/o mixed in meds because they don't trust its taste anymore. Since getting nutrients is critical, it's best not to mess w/their food. ▪Also, it didn't work on our dog, but if I put a pill in our cat's mouth & gently blow on his nose, he immediately swallows.

My dog thought these were treats!!
Pill Pockets -- my dog usually got as excited about these as he did for real treats and never refused them!! My dog is "the world's fussiest dog," as my husband describes him, and he needs to take 8 pills twice daily to treat a paw infection, along with his chronic conditions. I was able to get 2 capsules into each Pill Pocket. The bag contains 30 Pill Pockets, so we went through it quickly. Pill Pockets contain rehydrated chicken, glycerin, wheat flour, vegetable oil, wheat gluten, dried corn syrup, dried cultured skim milk, natural chicken bouillon flavor, natural flavors, sodium bisulfate, xantham gum, mixed tocopherols (preservative). I was hoping he would like something with less processed ingredients, but that didn't happen. More details: recently, the dog caught onto my tricks -- he sometimes rejects peanut butter and has even become suspicious of cream cheese, so I bought several products to conceal pills. Here is the breakdown of the others: Pill Yums -- came as a container of 30 "small" pieces, which were ~5/8 x 1/2 x 3/8", although other sizes are available. He ate these 75% of the time, although at first he was reluctant. The country of origin isn't on the package, although Spring Pet Products is in TX. Ingredients: glycerin, corn starch, cheese powder, corn solids, vegetable oil, sucrose, artificial flavoring, caramel color, sorbic acid, calcium proprionate. Pill Buddy Naturals -- ingredients looked more natural than some other options, but that doesn't matter since he refused them half the time. Made in Canada. These come as 2 attached pieces in a little cellophane-wrapped package, with 15 packages per bag = 30 total (which doesn't last long if your dog takes lots of pills, but would be fine for a pill or 2 per day). Each piece can fit a capsule, or 2 smaller pills (like synthroid + Pepcid) and these are easy to mold around the pills to conceal them. Contains barley flour, chicken, vegetable oil, molasses, whey protein, natural flavors, garlic powder, rosemary extract, xantham gum, citric acid and mixed tocopherols. Pill Paste by Earth Balance -- he ate this ~75% of the time. It comes in a small container (2.1 oz, 2 1/2" in diameter, 7/8" high) so it won't last long, but one nice feature is that you use just enough to coat the pill, so it's flexible for anything from tiny pills to big tablets, and much easier to work than Tomlyn's Pill Masker. Made in USA. Contains wheat flour, corn syrup, vegetable glycerin, vegetable oil, stabilized rice bran, dried pork liver, natural flavor, vegetable lecithin, salt, dried cheese, dried corn syrup, xantham gum, sorbic acid and calcium proprionate. Pill-Masker by Tomlyn -- a 4 oz. jar of bacon-flavored paste, which again was flexible for hiding tiny pills to big tablets. However, he turned his nose up at this consistently. No country of origin on the label, but Tomlyn is in TX. This is also labeled as appropriate for cats, so if you have to give pills to multiple pets, it may be helpful. Contains Brewers dried yeast, glycerin, lecithin, vegetable oil, salt, spray dried liver powder, cheese powder, natural flavors, arabic gum, sorbic acid (preservative), calcium proprionate (preservative), sodium acid pyrophosphate and Rosemary extract.

INGREDIENTS; Great for hiding pet medications...
These work great for hiding pet medications. Just place the pill inside the pocket, squeeze to seal the edges, and then roll into a ball. I have four dogs, three of which will eat a loaded pill pocket with no problem, but for the fourth who tends to chew her treats thus discovering the pill inside, I simply place a loaded pill pocket inside a bowl of her favorite moist dog food and wait to see that she eats everything. This usually does the trick and she consumes the food along with the loaded pill pocket without noticing anything out of the ordinary. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION THAT YOU MIGHT FIND USEFUL: Because pill pockets are moldable, you can break the large size in half and cover most pills using only half of one, making the large size pill pockets the most economical. To prevent transfer of medicine smell or taste, do not touch Pill Pockets treat with the hand that held the pill. INGREDIENTS (CHICKEN FLAVORED PILL POCKETS): Chicken, glycerin, wheat flour, vegetable oil, dried corn syrup, wheat gluten, corn flour, natural flavors, lecithin, brewer's dried yeast, potassium sorbate (to preserve freshness), salt, methylcellulose, ascorbic acid (source of vitamin C), mixed tocopherols, vitamin E supplement.
