When I was a young soldier in the U.S. ARMY, my sergeant gave me one of these. It was not quite like this one but it became one of my favorite and most useful bits of gear. You can put a sleeping bag (fart sack) in it and stay dry no matter how much it rained or snowed, You could stuff it with whatever and haul it around. My old one didn't have as many carry handles as this one. I imagine you could carry an injured person in it or use it to stay warm if you stuffed it full of leaves or some other types of insulation. My favorite trick was to add a bit of laundry soap and a few gallons of water to shake clean my B.D.U.s. This one will be part of my bug out kit. A very useful item to have.

We carried several people in this over the course of a night. Weights from 150 to 285 (this guy was last, too). I was a little worried from other reviews but it remained in one piece. I have two of these and trust it will work the next time I need use.

We needed odor proof, leak proof body bags to for families to transport their deceased when they choose to have a home funeral while being in compliance with State of Florida Statutes. These bags have the additional feature of 6 hand holds, making it easy to carry the deceased without the need of a body board. These bags are economical and perfect for our needs.

Bought these for peace of mind - my parents are in their 70's and are in declining health. They both want to donate their bodies to the Body Farm, so I've been researching how to transport them myself when the time comes. It's more complicated but less expensive to deal with death when you're not utilizing a funeral home and their services. For now, I'm keeping these bags in my trunk.
