I love a craft that can really become a timeless keepsake
I have used this product several times over the years. I love a craft that can really become a timeless keepsake. I made this one of my youngest son's hand with one of the toy cars that defined my 3 sons' childhoods. Done 13 years ago, it becomes more of a treasure as time goes by. The price I found on Amazon makes it a more reasonably priced craft, too, and less of a disaster if things don't turn out perfectly (see below!) One tip: Carefully measure your water amounts out prior to starting and have them at the ready. My last time doing this was one cast of my three grandchildren's hands. I was in such a hurry to get this made before the youngest was taken home that I mis-measured and mixed entirely too much water in the 'plaster' part! While heartsick, I just left it all to sit for at least 24 hours and was surprised when I removed the mold that the figure actually still turned out REASONABLY well, even if it was a little soft for a time. The worst area was where the 3 year old moved his fingers enough to allow the too-watery mix to swirl and a couple of his fingers were ill-defined. I made the still-white figure of my then-three-year-old niece (now a senior in high school.) I divided the kit up into smaller portions and made hers in a large disposable cup. Little hands do not need the full-sized bucket and the materials can be used to make another later. Just be aware that touching the sides of the container 'can' leave little flat areas on the plaster fingers. I simply said to her, "Try not to touch the sides of the cup if you can," and she did a wonderful job cooperating. Her little hand really needs to be sanded to a different angle on the bottom. Because it is unbalanced, it has tipped over and I have had to glue a couple fingers back on. Along with the little car (that I removed from the bottom of the mold before replacing the mold into the bucket and pouring the plaster) I've had the kids hold things that will remain with the piece. The three grandchildren were each holding a seashell since we had been staying at the beach at the time. Tell children to "let go" of the object when they remove their hands from the mold. Keep in mind that objects must be near the bottom of the bucket so they can be removed without tearing up the mold too much. Small imperfections can be removed from the finished figure and any small pinholes filled (save out a very small portion of the plaster to use for this. The mold medium is easy to remove from object, such as the toy car and your rings, just in case you've wondered. Enjoy!

Great Unique Keepsake
Super easy to use. I'm really impressed with how well the final product came out. We didn't do the typical hand holding which made it a little difficult, I bought a different container and had to buy two sets bc after the first arrived it wouldn't be enough. Two was perfect for the container we used and again it was so easy to do, just followed the same instructions but doubled the water and let it sit longer to set. The only mishap was the tips of our fingers but that has to do with us wiggling them in the mold I think.

LOVE IT!
So fun, it came out better than expected! It was easy to do (just follow the directions) and it has so much detail in the hands. GREAT BUY!

Awesome!!!
I have to admit, I was very reluctant to order this. Now, however, I must say I am so very glad I did. We we're pleasantly surprised how easy it was to make & how great our "hands" turned out. It was a little tricky for two adults (one with very large hands) but the end result is wonderful & the detail is simply amazing. Don't hesitate to order this. You will also be happy you did :).

Fun activity
Loved it! Mixing everything was easy, and the instructions were clear. It's a fun activity for many occasions. I was pretty worried about taking me and my spouse's hands out and I was worried about what would be the end result but it ended up being great. The final result is very finely detailed down to the skin texture. Make sure to practice holding hands and making sure they fit comfortably in the provided bucket. Also make sure to wet hands, especially if they are hairy I noticed that the hair on my hand trapped a lot of air bubbles on it because I didn't wet it enough and the end result was entertaining. It's also recommended to keep a small amount of the stone powder to fix any holes or imperfections after the mold is taken out and in general it's very easy to smooth out any pieces or small bumps out with some water. Overall it was a fun activity but it would be nice if the bucket was wider than it is tall. I would recommend this product.

It Works!!
I bought this as a gift for my parents 49th anniversary. We were all a little skeptical but we followed the instructions to a T. We were totally pleased with the results! My daddy has huge hands and my moms are tiny so we were a bit worried if they would fit, but they did. The only thing we would have done different is not to be so scared of how fast it says it sets. My parents had to leave their hands in the mold for 4 minutes total. I think we could have waited for the gel to be on the edge of turning white before inserting hands. The other thing is use a whisk instead of a scraper to mix the gel, and squish as many lumps as you can, however it will be slightly lumpy when you pour it into the bucket. We also let it set 36 hours before pealing away the gel part and kept the water drained off during that time. I will definitely purchase again!

First timer
My love and I have never made anything like this before. The directions were so simple and verbatim, honestly I don't know how some people messed up on it. If you follow the instructions, you will get a amazing sculpture. After following every step make sure you wet your hands before stick them in the position you want to mold. Hold hands in cast for 2 mins and it will feel weird and feel like cement getting hard. Allow one person to wiggle slowly out of mold then the next person. My husband and I were able to do this, just beware do not touch the sides or the bottom (we both have huge hands and this was a tight fit, but it worked). I would recommend and order again. It is imperative that you follow the directions to active a great result. This was super fun. Loved it. Going to order another one soon only because we forgot to wear our rings while doing this, and another one so my 3 girls can have a molding together. *have to wait 24hrs for it to set, turn bucket upside down and carefully peel away. The fingernails are very fragile. After a week you can stain it and paint it*

Awesome project.
Great item as long as you make sure to take your time when pouring the cement liquid make sure to tap like the instructions say so you don't end up missing toes/fingers. I tried this with my 19 month old I figured when he was sleeping would be best but he woke up while I was doing it and moved a little causing him to touch the bottom of the container which showed in the final product..this would be great for a newborn/infant who doesn't really know what's happening but if you're doing it with a toddler it's best to do it with them (holding their hand in yours) because the consistency of the liquid is pretty odd to them. Overall an excellent product I will definitely reorder to try again!

Follow the directions 100% and turns out great
Awesome! Love it so much. But do follow the directions 100% we did have to wait more than 2 minutes for the mold to harden around their hands completely. But it was still under 6 minutes. The finished product is perfect! Note: we also left it to dry longer than 24 hours because we made the mistake of leaving the cap on the bucket thinking it would keep debris out but it also locked in the moisture. So we left it another day without the lid and it turned out great! Very pleased with this product

Love this!
This product is amazing!! Super easy to do & results were exactly what I was hoping for. I ordered this to do mine & my mums hands together. This last year has been very difficult for her medically. She spent from Feb 2016 to July 2016 in hospitals & rehab. Then back a few more times between July 2016 & December 2016. She is now in nursing care as she has dementia & in March 2017 she had her first ever seizure. She then ended up back in the hospital in May 2017 & can not go home. This is a perfect keepsake that I'll forever treasure.
