seen many products sold at other sites, Amazon's price was lower, solid product.

This is a great set. They come heavily doused in oil but that wiped right off with a clean rag. I'm not really concerned with rusting since I have my small shop humidity controlled but I can see that being an issue with open shop/high humidity shops. The action on these are a bit sticky even with the oil mostly removed. I found the screw and collar are two separate pieces and sometimes the collar will catch on the threading. Not a huge issue and I think it will go away as I use them more. Overall I am very very pleased with these.

For a cheap kit, these are very well made. The threads are smooth and engage well, the button is well finished and the spring good and tight. There is ZERO plastic! The body is nicely machined without being polished. The ends just need a quick zing on the grinder to get them sharp (I use them for the lathe) and you are right to go. It is a shame that the kit doesn't include a "big 8" and a compass (with provision for a pencil). This would make it a first rate one-stop kit for new lathe owners. This is not a negative however, just a suggestion to corner the market :)

great price fast shipping exactly what i needed for my wood turning

Have these for over a year now. Was afraid they were going to rust in the high humidity of Florida, but to my surprise they still look great and no signs of rust. Very good quality and an ideal tool for a truck mechanic.

Despite the fact these things, as well as just about everything else, is made in China, these are excellent. I see no problems with them and can easily recommend them. I have a set of 6 inch ones which were under my need at the time.

An excellent value! these instruments are high quality prescision tools. If you are considering purchasing them. I have to tell you I was well impressed with them when they arrived and realized that the value of the purchase was extrodinary for the price. They come in a handy little vinyl pouch. Although one removed are hard to get back inside. It did offer excellent protection during shipping however.

They are of quite good quality and an excellent value for the money. Several buyers have written that the calipers were “grease covered “ when they received them. That certainly was not true with the ones I got.

Typical off shore (excepting Japan and most of Europe), build quality. A bit rough but cleaned up with a little work to be good enough for me. I think most people that are looking for a cheap tool for simple non-exacting work would find this set just fine. It is pretty hard to mess up a pair of dividers; they are fine. The outside caliper is what I use most and it works fine. The inside mic is a little too big for my kind of work in that it can't be adjusted for a hole or diameter smaller than about 5/8 inch. By the way, it is common for new tools to need refinement by the end user, even high end (expensive) word working tools, both hand and power. Clean up was easy enough; and getting the joints loosened up enough to work freely let me know that they are tight (like I want them).

These are very nice calipers for what you pay for them. Obviously they aren't professional quality, but for a hobbyist such as myself, they are great, and they are considerably cheaper than the professional ones.. They have a solid feel to them, adjust smoothly and once set, hold their setting well. They do come packaged in sealed plastic with a light coating of lubricant that must be removed before use. I didn't find removal of the grease to be a big problem and accomplished it in just a few minutes.
