Very Nice Quality, windshield scraper
Very Nice Quality, windshield scraper. I use this mostly when there's ice of course...and when what's melted re-freezes. Like under the wiper blades. The length short enough, I can get some real elbow grease behind it, (for a not so strong woman)... and I don't have to keep scraping & scraping, until I'm exhausted. I would purchase this again, without hesitation !!

Yes - so worth it!! Good 'coverage' on each swipe and very sturdy
Thank goodness I got this!!! I threw this in the car w/ my 5 others ones of all types. Yesterday in PA we got a relatively thick coating of ice from the freezing rain that fell for 2 hours. I walked out of work to the sounds of my co-workers busily chop, chop, scrape, scraping away on their cars. They were using the long ones (I have some too) with the brush on one end and the hard to get the right pressure scraper on the other end. Then I remembered I had this one. I started the car, grabbed this blue one and thought, good opp to give it a try. WOW - not only was I done before the other poor peeps still trying to get the right angle but I was able to help some w/ the other sides of their car and get out of the lot before the peeps out there much longer than I was. I'll give 5 stars to products but this one deserves higher! Truly the width covered and scraped with 2 passes on some thick-ish ice the needed some elbow grease. Very pleased and just sent one to my sister!

bought it too late
I'm so mad at myself for not buying one of these sooner. This is my third winter in Chicago, and my third winter of driving several times with dangerously frosted windows. I really put some lives at risk, I think, because there were times when I couldn't see out my windows, and didn't have anything handy to scrape off the ice. I was a little nervous about scratching the glass with this, but have had no problems so far with snow, ice, or frozen rain on the inside or outside of my car. One side says "frost" and the other side says "ice" but I use them interchangeably. I hope that's okay. I even scraped my side mirror while driving (slowly) a couple weeks ago, as this handy tool removes ice so effortlessly. Dumbly, I bought this very late in the winter and probably won't get the chance to use it again until next year. Oh well, can't wait. I'm no longer afraid of my own breath freezing against the glass.

Does an amazing job at sraping ice off freezers too!!
I live in an area where we have never had snow and only a few times of the year get frosty windows. I purchased this for those few times originally, but was somewhat bummed when the frost left before I got a chance to use it. Well, last night I found an alternative use for it. We have a chest freezer that needed to be cleaned out because lemon juice leaked everywhere! After talking about it a while- the idea popped it my hubbys head of using the scraper on it instead of waiting for the freezer ice to melt and having to toss all the food in the freezer. It took less than 10 minutes for the ice in the freezer to be scraped off all 4 walls and the floor of the freezer. We then used a trash bound box as a soup to scoop the ice up and trash it followed by wiping the ice free walls and floor of the freezer with a wet rag. The freezer is 3 years old and has never been cleaned or thawed because it seemed like a daunting task- the whole process took about 15 minutes with the both of us for a freezer large enough to fit a whole cow's worth of meat. I am very pleased with this little ice scraper. I had a different gas station one years ago when I did live where it snowed a lot, but that one was so big, bulky, and flimsy, that I tossed it when moving to warmer climates. This little gem, however, is very sturdy and doesn't give way. It is also compact enough to leave in a car kit at all times- snow or no snow. The ice of our freezer was really built on thick and a pain when we had to move racks, and this little puppy went through it like it was nothing. I am very pleased with this purchase and I think it will work wonders for when our frosted windows season starts again next year!

Best $5 I ever spent.
Just used it this morning. Like some others have said, it scrapes through the ice on your window like a knife through butter. I already had an ice scraper/brush combo that was mildly effective but this thing just blows it out of the water. It normally takes like 15 minutes to scrape the ice off my car because I would have to wait until the engine warmed up to start scraping (otherwise it was really difficult, almost impossible) but today I was able to scrape all the ice off my windshield and windows in less than 5 minutes. I would definitely recommend this tool to anyone that lives in colder areas because the price/performance ratio is on point.

Great for that rare Central Texas freeze
The thing about living in an area that almost never sees ice is that you're never really prepared for it. Our cities and counties won't spend money on road clearing equipment that will sit unused, snow (and snow chains) will only ever be seen on TV, and you never really think about having to scrape ice off a windshield. But over the summer, I was reading an article about things you should always keep handy in your car, and an ice scraper was one of 'em. I thought back to a couple of years ago when a rare hard freeze was coupled with some rain, and I remember having to wait forever for my defroster to wear the windshield ice down enough that I could wipe what remained off and finally drive to work. So I figured I'd grab a relatively cheap scraper and pride myself in being the only one prepared the next time it happened. And sure enough... Then about a week ago, I walked out to my car to see the windshield covered in what I thought was just a thick layer of dew. As it turns out, the sun had melted the somewhat thin layer of overnight ice off of just about everything -- except the fronts of cars that were parked in the shade, including mine. All stupidly excited, I grabbed my ice scraper, jumped out of the car, and had my windshield cleared in no time at all. It's a sturdy tool that can certainly clear more than what I had to deal with that morning, but it was such a good thing to have on hand as I pulled out of my parking spot, seeing my neighbors trying to clear their own windshields with credit cards and defrosters.

Absolutely amazing value product
Came with a small chunk of the padding on the handle already coming off. That's about the only negative thing I can say about this, and that small missing chunk hasn't even affected my grip of the handle in the least. The product has been very effective and felt good to use overall, especially for the price. I suspect the first thing that will fall apart in the future will be the rest of the handle's padding, but no more of it came lose during my use of it this winter. As is I suspect I'll get at least a couple more winter's use out of this before the padding coming off could become an issue. And honestly, there's a decent chance I end up somehow losing it before that even can happen anyway. To be fair usage-wise, my climate isn't the most extreme so I don't have to scrape off tons every day, even for the couple of months where I need to use it. So if you live in the far North of the world this may not be ideal for you, but at that point I imagine going for a more expensive and fancier scraper (whatever that would entail) would be well worth it anyway. For me, this is perfect and I'm glad I can get something that meets my needs so well for such a great price.

Way Better Than A CD Case
Received this just a couple weeks ago and stored it in the bottom part of my glove box (2012 Toyota Sienna, there's a smaller top and larger bottom glove box). It fits perfectly in there along with some other documents and, admittedly, crap that I should probably get rid of or move to the house. In any case, the temperature in my area has only dropped below freezing twice and I was able to test it out and it passed with flying colors. the handle and neck of the scraper are sturdy, and although I had to put a good amount of pressure down to scrape the ice away from my windshield, I was never concerned that any part of it would snap off. I haven't had the need to use the other end of it, but I'm sure it works just as well. It's funny. I've wanted an ice scraper for years, and because of the short time that it actually gets cold enuff to need one, I never have picked one up. When I was first driving, I would just use a CD case. This is a big upgrade. Plus... who carries a CD case any more? ;-)

My winters are mild, but this is better than any scraper I've ever used!
Not that I have been through many, but this is by far the best window scraper that I have ever used. I feel compelled to offer a disclaimer at the beginning of this review: I do not live in New England or the upper Midwest. I live in central North Carolina, where a few inches of snow is a major event. So my primary use of this scraper is nearly always going to be for frost, not snow. Nonetheless, the times that I have had to use it this winter have been as effortless as ever. Normally, I let my car run with defrost on for several minutes in the morning, then scrape with a really cheap scraper. That usually still takes a little longer than expected and I still have a difficult time not having small streaks of frost that linger. Since I've been using this scraper, the job is effortless. All of the frost is cleared away in no time without streaks. This morning, I even used it without letting the car warm up on defrost first, and the effort and result were no different. The foam handle is very comfortable and helps some to keep the coolness off your hands. The frost scraping end is very thin, which is a reason why I think it is so effective. It also is longer than most cheap scrapers, so I am able to reach 2/3 of the way across the windshield with no problems. For my purposes of clearing away frost in the morning after cold nights (will probably use it on a few inches of snow 1-2 times per year) this scraper does as good of a job as any that I have used. My needs when it comes to scraping car windows are generally very mild, but I would still highly recommend this item.
