Perfect replacement for the Toto ST743S
We have owned our home for about 8 years, and have two Toto toilets. We had already replaced the flapper for the one in my husband's bathroom with a replacement we had gotten at Lowe's. The one in my bathroom was starting to have a lot of problems with constant running, and it was time to find a new one. We had tried one from our local Home Depot that "claimed" to fit Toto, which we ended up having to return because it did not fit at all. The constant running with my toilet had gotten so bad, my husband started turning the water off at night so he could sleep and not get woken up by the water. Not having the time to make a trip down to Lowe's, and benefit of two day shipping with Prime, I decided to see what I could find for a replacement. Web searches showed that this particular part would fit our particular model best. Needless to say it works perfectly. I actually ordered two, because I know we will need to replace the one in my husbands bathroom again at some point. Korky even offers a warranty on these products, should you start to experience problems within a 5 year period, from date of installation. I have saved my paperwork just in case, but feel this part will last long past the documented window, but its nice to have that piece of mind should a defective part be installed. Definitely will order again in the future when needed.

OEM replacement for THU253S, THU275S, THU331S
I have 6 TOTO toilets in my house. Great toilets, except for the flapper valves. I have been purchasing the 2023BP Universal Flapper Valve but still wasn't getting good long-term results. I called TOTO technical support and read them my flapper valve numbers from all the toilets. The tech explained that while 2023BP was a universal replacement, the 2021BP was the OEM replacement for my THU253S, THU275S and THU331S flappers. He is also sending spacers for the flush valve arms where the ears of the flapper valves attach. The spacers keep the flapper valve centered in the tank. The spacers are free if you call tech support.

Great replacement for Toto Drake II
Terrific replacement to solve a slow leak in our Toto Drake II toilet. This flapper fit exactly and is actually of much better quality than the original one that came with the toilet. It even has a Toto branding, not Korky, so Toto must use this manufacturer for this particular part on their toilets. I'm a DIY kind of guy, so installing a toilet is an easy job and replacing a flapper no problem at all. But getting the right one presented an issue. The Toto part number for the original flapper, as specified in the parts list that came with the toilet just two and one-half years ago, was no longer available or even recognized on the Toto website. Thanks to another review here on Amazon, but for a different toilet model, I took a chance that this flapper would fit. First, I noticed that the flapper does have a slightly oversized sealing surface, which the original gray flapper did not. That was important. Maybe the rubber-like material hardens over time, but the old gray flapper was stiffer, and that probably lead to it not making a good seal. This one is softer and much more flexible. The packaging is good so that there was no distortion of product and material memory that would have prevented it from sealing flat. The chain is quite long; I had to move the clip down a lot to adjust for proper flapper lift. My older one-piece Toto Ultramax II toilet that I installed in 2012 still has its original flapper. It is never leaked and is now a light pink color. I suspect it was one of these red Korky flappers. Anyway, after seeing and installing the new Korky 2021BP on the Drake II toilet, and having no more leaks, I ordered an extra Korky flapper to have on hand when the second toilet needs a repair. Good product.

Worked For Me
My original Toto flapper was nearly disintegrated after 10 years of use. I was fretting over what to do because I didn't know the first thing about replacing a flapper. I can barely hammer a nail. Then the light bulb came on - "Check the internet. Check Amazon." It wasn't long before I found the replacement I needed for my toilet model, plus instructional videos. It was easy to install in just 5 or less minutes. No leaks at all. For those in a similar predicament as me, try this first. Look under your toilet tank lid. There will likely be a label with all the information you need to determine the flapper you need and/or poke around the internet or Amazon for the toilet model you have and you'll likely find what you're looking for. Be sure to count the chain links on your old flapper from where its attached up to the hook. Also, note which hole it's hooked to on the flush lever. Install the new one with the hook on the same link where the old one was (mine was on link 15) and hook it back into the same hole on the flush lever and you're done.

Replaces Toto THU331S Flapper
Korky makes flappers for Toto, which is why this product has the Toto name embossed in it. According to an engineer posting somewhere, the tool marks indicate that this is from exactly the same mold as the one that came in his Toto. In other words, Korky makes it, and it goes to Toto as one thing, into a box and to Amazon as another, but it's the same flapper. It is an authorized OEM part. If you have a toilet that used the THU331S flapper as original equipment, this will replace that flapper. If not, you should get the universal adjustable 3" Korky flapper, and adjust it so that it produces the same flow as the original one you had. You can pull up the parts list for your Toto toilet at [...] or by calling Toto customer service. From looking at the Toto Customer Service replacement part spreadsheet, the following Toto toilets come with the THU331S, and thus this functionally-identical (and possibly actually-identical) flapper is the perfect replacement flapper: ONE PIECE: Aimes Flapper Carlyle (original Carlyle) Flapper Carlyle II Flapper Eco Guinevere Flapper Eco Lloyd Flapper Eco Soiree Flapper Legato Flapper Ultramax (original 1.6gpf Ultramax) Flapper Ultramax II Flapper TWO PIECE: Carrollton Flapper Clayton Flapper Drake (original 1.6gpf, not the "E" or the "II") Flapper Eco Promenade 424EF (1.28) Flapper Mercer Flapper Pacifica Flapper Vespin (original) Flapper Whitney Flapper

Excellent flappers and amazing customer service
I ordered five of these flappers back in late 2015 to replace all of the original Toto flappers in my home's five toilets and they worked smoothly right out of the box. The installation was super easy and sealed very well. I even installed new fill valves (Korky 528MP MaxPerformance Fill Valve) and they work perfectly together. Incidentally, one of the flappers began to wear our prematurely in my master bedroom last week and it would occasionally cause the tank to endlessly drain water until the handle was re-wiggled. Troubleshooted the issue to be the unreliable seal on this one particular flapper, all the others seem to still hold up pretty well after 4 years. I figured it must be a fluke and was still happy with the brand, so I decided to try out their warranty. I emailed Korky about this issue and see if they were willing to help me replace one of them, and lo and behold, Maribel responded and was a delight to work with. She went above and beyond, and makes me feel happy to do business with a solid brand that is proudly Made in the USA with a strong commitment to customer service and loyalty. I will be a lifetime customer. Thanks!

Flaps fabulously for a TOTO Toilet Tank.
This brilliant rubber flapper valve flaps like there is no tomorrow. It retains the water in our toilet tank unless and until one depresses the flush lever, at which time it promptly and thoroughly releases said water in tank into the bowl below, flushing away foul waste quickly. I cannot express just how thoroughly and completely satisfied my wife, family, and I have been with this darling red rubber toilet tank flapper valve and its cute little chain. As to installation, it took literally 15.9 seconds, including the removal of the (slimy, gross, old, leaking) flapper valve. For those unfamiliar with the nuances of flapper valve replacement: Examine the existing flapper valve closely before you yank it out. Close to the big hole in the tank bottom where the flapper valve goes you'll find a pair of plastic lugs. The flapper valve has a pair of arms with holes in their distal ends. These two holes are designed to receive the two lugs, which hold the flapper in place but allow it to move up or down (to flap, in other words). To install, one simply presses the flapper valve's arms over the lugs so that the lugs pop through the holes. Then the chain is attached to the tank flush lever. The chain length is adjusted by placement of the included snap fastener so that the flapper valve is lifted up when the flush lever is fully depressed. It has taken me far, far longer to explain this than it does to actually install it. In fact, a person of at least average intelligence, or a young child for that matter, could easily install this flapper valve blindfolded with no instructions beyond common sense. By the way, speaking of common sense, it's a good idea to shut off the tank's water supply and flush it before installation. And wear rubber gloves unless you like handing the slimy old valve. I'm sure that slime is harmless, but why take chances?

Replaced a Toto THU175S flapper. Works perfectly.
I bought this to replace the flapper on a Toto toilet at work. The model number of the toilet was nowhere to be found inside the tank. I don't know if the ink was vigorously scrubbed off at some point or what, but it appeared that the toilet uses a THU175S flapper. The existing flapper on the toilet was a Toto flapper, but it looked barely big enough to cover the drain flange in the tank. From age it had started to curl and would not seal anymore unless there was water above it in the tank. That meant that if the toilet was flushed fully that the water filling the tank would just leak under the curled flapper and never fill the tank. This new flapper installed in just a minute or two. The toughest part was getting the old flapper off since it had become a bit hard and it was tough to get the arms off of the "ears" of the fill tube. This product works great. The seal is perfect and the toilet works as it should. Great product.

And here's how you find your Toto Model number
So your first question might be how do I figure out if this fits my Toto toilet? To figure out your model number, take the lid off your tank and look at the bottom. You should see an alphanumberic starting with either "ST" or "CST" followed by 3 numbers. Thats your model number. Check this against the part compatibility info to see if this works with your toilet. So far as the flapper, I actually got the first one from my local Ace Hardware because I didnt think to check Amazon, silly me. I'm buying the second one from Amazon. I installed the original one and it fit perfectly. It does indeed come with the chain, and the documentation it has says its guaranteed for 5 years. I shot an email to the manufacturer to see exactly how it works so I'll update my review when they respond. Why only 3 stars? I'm withholding a perfect review until I hear back on the guarantee. Update: Got an email response from the manufacturer, Lavelle Industries. Based on the below, this feels like a no-brainer...5 year guarantee at half the cost of the Toto-labeled flappers. [Response from Lavelle Industries] "Thank you for contacting us, and for purchasing our Korky product! There is no need to register the flapper. Simply keep our number on hand along with the flapper model number. If in the event you do need to replace the flapper, give us a call and state you need a warranty replacement and we will be glad to send one your way."

Shipped part was Levelle brand, maker of Korky
Received slightly different item than description. Item that came is labeled as from the makers of Korky, and is listed as a Lavelle Industries brand on the back. This isn't a big issue, as Levelle does make oem parts for manufacturers. Interestingly enough, it has TOTO printed right on the part. It appears to be similar to the original with a few changes. -they eliminated the rim at the edge, and added some support columns off the center section. This hopefully will prevent some of the cupping seen in the last photo. -the chain sleeve is missing, which i just transferred from the old part. This sleeve helps prevent the chain from getting bound up when it's in the resting position. -the hook type is different, so follow the guide on the back of the package regarding chain placement. I think it was one or two less than original. I came across this part by looking for original part number for my toilet model ST743S, which was THU175S, replaced by THU331SS, then replaced by THU499SS which is the universal catch all number. Reviews for that universal part suggested that manufacturers had changed, quality had dropped and problems were common. This part was suggested by someone's contact to tech support to match the original part by the original third party manufacturer. Installation was successful with no leaking. Will update with any problems.
