I bought this multi-purpose tool for future sewing projects that will involve grommets. Yesterday, I printed 2 PDFs that were too thick for my stapler. So I got out this tool and punched two holes about a half inch apart and used waxed thread to bind the papers. Looks really cool. I must say how pleased I am with the effortless, easy hole punching. I am so happy it was pain free and didn't require any strength. It is so sharp. I highly recommend this multi-purpose tool.

My first crafting hand tool was pliers to apply plastic snaps to cloth diapers. While it got the job done, it took a lot of hand strength and force, it was a bit clunky and it was easy to lose the different dies to be able to apply different size snaps. Compared to that, this tool is a dream! While it might seem a bit heavy, it is solidly built and intelligently designed. The hole punch with the markings for both centimeters and inches with a marker to hold your place was brilliant. The first time I went to punch a hole in my fabric, I couldn't believe how easy and effortless squeezing the handles was. Because of the snap pliers, I was ready to put my all into it, but they closed as easily as closing a stapler. I figured out how to set the guide to hold my place by the time I got to the second hole. Rather than use the dots I marked with chalk on my fabric, I used the guide and they came out perfectly aligned. It was easy to turn the dies for the size and type of eyelets I was using by following the markings on the tool. (I read the directions also, but we all know those will get lost one day, so the markings on the actual tool are helpful.) Once I got everything lined up, squeezed and the eyelet was set! My eyelets were set on a corset that was threaded and worn quite a few times. No eyelets ever popped out or tore away from the fabric. The locking feature is also appreciated as it will prevent my kids from trying to play with it and will be good for while it is stored away. I am extremely pleased with this product and now have a reliable tool to set eyelets on other projects.

What an easy product to use! I have very small hands so I thought it might be too tough to grip and close. It has such a smooth action. I use it for making cards. It creates a beautiful finished look. I would highly recommend this well made tool. I have attached a pic of the first of many cards in the making.

Crop-A-Dile has the reputation for being one of the best eyelet and snap punch and it's certainly not undeserved. It works as intended and it works well. It has been mentioned that the Crop-A-Dile will ONLY reach as far in as 1" -- So, if you need to set an eyelet further in from the edge, a pliers-style eyelet setter such as this one isn't well-suited for your needs. If, however, you have no such need, then the Crop-A-Dile MAY be the more convenient way to go. The Crop-A-Dile will accommodate eyelets with holes of varying sizes, e.g. 1/8", 3/16", 5/32" because the size of the punch (2 sizes to choose from) and the size of the anvil (4 sizes to choose from) can be set. Refer to the picture on the product page to see the 2 black parts of the Crop-A-Dile -- these are the widgets for setting the sizes for the anvil and punch. I do want to mention a point which might be noteworthy. The mechanism for adjusting the depth of the hole punch is no longer metal -- there has been a design change. The depth adjustment on my Crop-A-Dile is plastic. Most people tend to PERCEIVE plastic components (as opposed to metal) as being more inferior in quality -- I'm no exception. I was a little disappointed to see that the depth adjustment on my Crop-A-Dile is plastic. To be fair, it does work well. Eyelet setters come in at least 3 flavors: (1) the pliers style (like the Crop-A-Dile), (2) the hammer and punch style e.g. the Darice Eyelet Setter (which requires the use of a hammer) and (3) the punch style (which requires NO hammer) e.g. Friskars Eyelet Punch Setter. --- The Crop-A-Dile has worked very well for me. Whether it will work as well for you will depend on your needs. You have many styles of eyelet setters to choose from, so look around before deciding.

I purchased one of these from my local craft store to add 1/8" eyelets to my laminated keychains. However, I was disappointed to note that using the instruction's settings for 1/8" eyelets (Blocks C and 3), my eyelets were all being split and crushed on the back side, no matter how slowly or quickly I pressed the blocks together! After some research, I found a solution: use blocks C and 4 on 1/8" eyelets and avoid tears completely! I'll include a photo with my review for reference. Hole punch works beautifully and makes a nice smooth hole, but keep an eye where the pieces fly (and they WILL fly)! After finishing a large project, I looked in the mirror and found three punched-out holes in my hair. I consider it more of an amusement than a problem, though.

Love my Crop-a-dile! I bought it to set 3mm grommets on keychains and tags I make out of vinyl. Most grommet setters are multiple pieces, require a hammer and are made for one size only. The Crop-a-dile has the ability to do both 1/8 and 3/16 eyelets (or 3 and 4 mm grommets), which is great in case a certain project needs a slightly bigger size. The directions are easy to read and include pictures to help select the correct settings on the Crop-a-dile. It also has a tiny illustration on the tool itself to help you remember which way to position the grommets, which is very useful in the beginning. The grommets I found here on amazon have worked out very well with my crop-a-dile. https://www.amazon.com/CRAFTMEmore-Grommets-Eyelets-Backing-Clothes/dp/B0725HQJJT/ref=cm_cr_othr_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07145NYS7/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I've tried a few different eyelet tools and this one is well worth the money. The others I've tried mangle the eyelet and maybe get 30% good. This one nails it every time perfectly. Well worth the extra cost since you're not damaging eyelets and not getting frustrated at it either.

I can not express my love for this!! Dont waste the time/ noney on other punches. I didnt want to spend the money but it is wortth waiting a bit til you have enough for it. Heavy duty!! It will go through several pieces of thick cardstock without any kind of issue. Love the fact that you can set the depth of where you punch, so that it is the same on each item you punch. I dont use the setter part, but have played with it... several ways to use it. This it just ideal and I hoghly recommend

This thing is amazing. I want to add eyelets to my dogs' leash so can I string some lights through it for night time walking. I was a little concerned that this thing could not make a hole in the leash. Boom! It did. The particular leash I am using this for is a little thick, so I had to puncture the leash twice, once from each side. It had no problem with the material and did not require significant hand strength. I am ecstatic with this purchase, and the price is very reasonable for the quality of the item.

Previous review was totally right about using block 'C' for the 1/8" eyelets!! Otherwise I would have been super disappointed. This tool is robust and quite heavy. Working with small eyelets is tough, but the finish this creates is really nice. Bought cause I couldn't find another tool to do small eyelets. Might be cool to use it for decorative "flat embellishments".
