Hot, hot, hot...

Not crazy hot like a habanero pepper, but maybe like a medium jalapeno. Edible, flavorful and just hot enough if you like fairly spicy food. Each piece is about the size of a gum ball or marble (assumes you are old enough to recall either one) and has a coating which is mildly flavored. Just the thing to prime your mouth for the second high cinnamon layer. The final core is just a small ball of candy without much taste. Not that you will be able to taste much else besides cinnamon for awhile.

Holy Moly Canoly!!! (Yes I know you don't spell Cannoli like this; Canoly! But It would look weird following "Holy Moly," lol) Anyway.... this was a HUGE BAG of Fire Balls!!! They are not quite as big as the fireballs I used to get 35 years ago as a kid. But, they still taste the same!!! They are a big hit here in the Gryffindor1971 household!! This bag will last for a good long while... when we are about to run out, rest assured, another order will be placed for another bag of these Atomic Fire Balls!

BURNS SO GOOD!

These are the world's best candy. SO HOT! I bought these for work because the coworkers kept eating my candy. Now only the hardiest of souls dare to enter the lair and steal the candy, and they are the worthy ones. I love the size, also, as I used to have to buy candy every other week. This has lasted a long time.

Individually wrapped, flavorful, long lasting

I bought these for filling a candy bowl for the students at my college. The candy in the bowl must be individually wrapped, which these are. These candies are also very powerfully flavored (hot cinnamon) and long lasting (think jawbreakers), which is useful for subtly encouraging each student to take only one. Some people take one look at the color and name, realize they will not like it, and do not take one. But most people are either familiar with these from childhood or brave enough to try, and they like them. I tried one myself and they are exactly as I remember, but will not have any more because I am too tempted to try to crunch them and my dentist would not be happy about that. (Or alternatively, maybe she would like the extra business if I cracked my teeth. Just kidding. My dentist is too nice for that.) Altogether a great purchase for a candy bowl.

Smaller can be better, it just depends on what you prefer

These Fireballs are smaller than what I expected, but they are just as hot and taste exactly the same as the larger ones. The product came in a 5 lb. bag as advertised. I weighed it with a food scale and it was 5 lbs exactly. Smaller can be better, it just depends on what you prefer. If you plan on giving these out to a large amount of people, then I would recommend this smaller size. I went to Walmart afterward and picked up the larger ones to see if if there was a difference. The amount of hot cinnamon flavor seems to be the same on both. The difference is that with the larger ones you are going to be left with that larger core after you suck away all the hot flavor. The smaller ones also get eaten faster so you will be reaching in the bag for another one faster than with the larger ones. I added a picture for comparison. The one on the right is from the 5 lb bulk.

Old Fashioned Fun

Classic cinnamon Atomic Fire Balls candies. Super cinnamon spicy, a hard candy that has a more smooth powdered sugar pastille texture, not glassy slick like a lollipop. Jar in photo is a Bormioli Rocco Fido Square Jar with Green Lid, 25-1/4-Ounce, which I bought here on Amazon recently as an ideal shape and size for an airtight candy jar. They come in all different colors.

Same fireballs that you remember.

I got too lazy to make some of my cinnamon candies so I bought some of these to see if they were as good as they were when I was a kid or if they got cheap and started adding then pressed sugar centers you find in jaw breakers. They are still great. Not as good as tasty as my cinnamon candies but they last a lot longer. The trick to making really great cinnamon candy is adding powdered ghost or scorpion chillies, no one can taste the chili pepper flavor it just makes the cinnamon seem extra hot. They are also still hard all the way through and did not disappoint. I have added a pic for those who wonder how big these are.

Love em’! Nice and fresh. Price was reasonable. The grocery store where I used to live sold them in bulk at $1.99/lb. or $1.59/lb. if I caught them on sale. ****New addition to my previous review***** I’ve ordered these 3 times from the same seller. My first 2 orders were wonderful (although the second order had a mix of large and small sizes within the same package). My third order was horribly stale. After the outer layer (where all the hot is) had dissolved (in a VERY short time) the inner portion just crumbled. Unfortunately, I was outside the return limit when I realized the entire batch was bad. I’m undecided if I’ll order again seeing as I’ll be throwing away 5 lbs.

My wife can't get enough of these things!

My wife is a huge fan of these fireball candies; she used to be able to find them at the dollar store, but once she bought them out a few times they never had any more in stock! I took a chance and ordered her a bag of these (different brand than what she used to get) and she will never go back. She says that these are great and that they are 'soft' (by which she means that she can bite right through them right out of the wrapper and doesn't have to soften them up by sucking on them). I'm not a big fan of this kind of candy but these do taste good (although they are H-O-T if you're not used to them!)

Wow! 5lbs is more than I had anticipated which is a very good thing! Candy was fresh and perfect

Wow! 5lbs is more than I had anticipated. Which turned out to be a good thing because everyone that walks by my jar of these literally stops and goes " ohhhhh, atomic fireballs! I love those" even the plumber I recently had to hire. I sent him home with a baggie full. My son and his wife stopped by and made off with a quart canister jar full, hope he brings my container back...sigh. Anyway I still have over half left. College son has a suite upstairs and regulary comes down to forage for these treats. so addicting.
