The reed was good and sturdy. About 2 pieces were split but was cut and made to a usable size. Made about 1 12x6x4 basket with the reed and still had very little left over. Didn't split much when bending once wet.

Exactly what I'd hoped for. I'm not really a basket maker. But, I purchased the reed to make a woven piece to use as a window prop for a jewelry store I do window displays for. This worked out perfectly. 95% of the reeds were pliable enough that they did not break with handling. If I'd been more careful, I probably wouldn't have broken any.

Great product...used it to finish off a bamboo table that I made.

Excellent but huge amount

I've never made a basket in my life, so can't comment on how this reed would work for that purpose. What I use it for is the boning in my fully-boned 18th century stays. I used to always buy the 1" flat reed and split it into 1/4" or narrow strips, but that takes forever, so I decided to give this a try. This reed is flat on one side, and curved on the other. I think it's too flimsy to use on its own. But what I do is use two reeds in each channel, placing the flat sides against each other. Because I'm paranoid of reed not holding up, I usually use metal boning in at least a few of my channels, but the stays I made with this reed felt so strong that I only used metal in the channels on either side of the lacing holes. I've only used my stays for fittings and short term wearing so far, but they are holding up nicely. I can't imagine going back to my time-consuming process of splitting the 1" reed any time soon!

Better quality than I was expecting!!! I would buy again.

Perfect for boning stays :)
