We have a 2yo who is potty training. She's at the point she can go on her own, but she's not tall enough to reach the light switches. It's very frustrating for a busy Mommy. I ordered the three pack so that I can install them in the kids' rooms as well (it's cheaper to order a 3 pack than 1 by itself). I opened the box and immediately my DD wanted to play with them. We broke out the handy dandy screwdriver and set up shop in the bathroom. I got to work, taking out the screws from the plate, and WITHOUT READING THE INSTRUCTIONS, installing the Kidswitch. Hmmm...it's funny I can't tighten it very tight and it seemed very flimsy. I shrug it off and move on to the kids' rooms. I install them in both rooms and those fit remarkably better. My DD tested them for me rather well and was very please with the ability to help me turn the lights on when prompted. So I went back to the bathroom to see what went wrong as I had an idea as I was installing the last Kidswitch. And sure enough I had installed the Kidswitch backwards in the bathroom. Doh! So I unscrewed it, flipped the switch around and poof, it works like magic. I read a few of the reviews on Amazon prior to purchasing and I truly think that there are a few that probably made the same mistake I did. Just make sure you're installing the screws into the side that has the recess on it. Long story short, AWESOME PRODUCT and works very well when INSTALLED PROPERLY. I will definitely recommend these to my friends and family.

This item has increased the accessibility for our toddler! Before, our three year old daughter would not want to go into a room in our house alone because "it's dark, mommy!" Now, I just tell her "Remember, push the moon UP to turn the light ON!" The entire piece is glow in the dark. I read other reviews stating that this does not work on double light switch pieces, but they must have modified the item because we were able to attach these onto one of the switches on our double switch piece! You simply have to unscrew the screws directly above and below the switch you wish to have the extender on, then use the provided screws to screw it over the switch. I do want to note that the picture of the item shows three separate packages, so I assumed that is what I would receive. When I initially opened the box, I almost thought they forgot to pack two out of the three pack. However, upon closer inspection, I realized it was a three pack. They are stacked directly on top one another so it may give the illusion of just one thick extender piece.

These are a life saver! I bought them so my 3 year old could turn on the lights in the restroom, playroom, and his bedroom. Installation was simple. You just take the screws out of the light switch faceplate and replace them with the screws provided in this package. My only complaint is that these are phillips screws and the ones that come on the switchplate are flat. Not a big deal, it just means it takes 2 screwdrivers to install these extenders. I'm a little worried about misplacing the screws that came on the switchplate, but that's not a fault of this company. These glow in the dark, so the kid can easily spot 'their' switch at night. Watch out, because in time, sometimes the screws back out.

Great product. We saw this at a local kids store and bought 1-pack for $9.99. It was a game changer for my then 3yo, he was able to independently enter a room without calling us to turn on the lights for him. He is now 5yo and life is so much more exciting for him. So when it came to teaching our second child, a 3yo boy to do the same thing I immediately thought of getting another one of this. Good thing I checked on Amazon and found this 3-pack kid light switch for a lot cheaper than our local retail store. We now have it in all the bathrooms, the playroom and kids bedroom. Easy to install. Works with multiple switch plates. Comes with hardware so no need to buy and change screws. I thought it would hit the counter in the bathroom but it does not. It is just long enough for kids to reach but not too long that it is hampered by the bathroom counter. Highly recommended.

This was one of the best purchases I have ever made. Our 22 month old grandson was able to turn the lights off and on after only showing him just a few times. Within 15 minutes, he was operating all three of them in different rooms, all by himself. The look on his face when he did it by himself was priceless. I'm sure his mom and dad will have some at their house shortly. The moon glows in the dark too, so that's also a really cool feature for the small ones. It just fits on in seconds and I would purchase again and again! You will not be disappointed.

I have an almost three-year-old who is all about doing "BY MYSELF MAMA!!!" these days. I had seen these switch extenders at a friend's house, and she was able to use them easily. I decided to buy the three pack because it's a much better deal financially and we put them in a few different places - kidlet's bathroom, kidlet's room, and downstairs half bathroom. The extenders install very easily. You just take the screws out from the switch plate, place the extender over it, and put the screws back in, as there are holes on the extender for them. Make sure you don't screw it all on too tightly or the extender will have more friction in use, which makes it harder for the child to use it. An adult can still use the switch easily without having to use the extender, and my kid can easily turn the light on and off. The moon at the bottom makes it easy for her to grab and grasp - she just needs to hook her fingers over it to control it, which means an even younger child could use this pretty easily too. Bonus: It glows in the dark, so if she were to get out of bed for a nighttime potty break, she could turn the light on. It's cheap, functional, and promotes independence in children - money well spent for us!

I heard about these in an online mom's group and am so glad I decided to give it a go. Really smart product; I was worried that it was a gimmick but it has been a wonderful help. My 2 1/4 year old is now able to turn on the light herself when she goes in her room to play, and she thinks it's really cool that she can do it all by herself! We will eventually install one in the bathroom as well. Installation is super quick on a standard light switch-- keep in mind that you need to only screw it in about halfway to allow the extender to easily slide (I had to experiment a little to figure out the right amount of pressure). My daughter is average height and is just tall enough now to be able to reach the extender, so a younger child would still have trouble reaching it-- which is probably a plus if you don't want the rug rats to treat it as a toy. Recommended!

My 4 year old is thrilled to control the lights and I'm thrilled to not have to stop what I'm doing every time she wants to enter a new room. Hooray! They take a minute oe two to install. I didn't bother taping the switchplate up, just held it in place. The only pita part is that switchplates us a flathead and these use a phillips screwdriver, so more pieces to juggle white you're installing. It helps to have pockets or a surface to use. We have both new and old (much wider) switches. Both work fine because modern narrow switches also have a little border trim around them so that the switchplate hole is the same width for either style.

Love these, just wish they were a little cheaper. Our 17 month old can not puch the light up / on yet, but she clearly feels very proud of her new responsibility of pulling down the lights at night, or when we leave the bathroom! Sometimes she gets distracted in the handwashing process and it's a great re-direct that also gets her excited about getting to the next step in normal routines; "OK, pull down down your duck to turn the water off (Aquaduck faucet handle) and them pull down your moon handle to turn the lights off!!!! Yay, good job!" At night: "OK, close the door and pull down your goodnight moon handle to turn the lights off and lets get into bed!"

Love these. I installed them in my daughter's playroom, bedroom, and bathroom and she loves them. She can control her lights all by herself. Now the first day was a little crazy because she was so fascinated by this new ability that she would turn off and on her lights repeatedly (she's 2, so a "please stop doesn't generally cut it). But we've had them about a week now and the playfulness has passed and we are all loving the functionality of them. One thing to note, some of the light switches in our house have a dimmer switch/slider directly next to the light switch and these Kidswitches do not work well on those types of switches. They cover the dimmer portion so you can't manually adjust and they also move it as you use the kidswitch. This means that every time you use the switch the lights get dimmer and dimmer until you have to remove the kid switch to turn them back up. Not a big problem, I just placed these on light switches without dimmers, but something to consider depending on where you want to use these
