This little guy is tiny and compact, it’s awesome! It fits anywhere and has a lot to offer. I haven’t had to use it obviously, but how well it’s made earned that fifth star.

Easy to use and once you get the hologram in sight it sits right on target. I used it on a clear day and once I got the hologram and pointed in the clear sky like I was searching for aircraft, I could always see the hologram. Afterwards when I moved away I turned it around to look at the hole on the flash side. It caught a bit of sun and it was not pleasant. It is bright and will easily blind you. Yeah,,,I know...color me stupid. :o) I also tried it indoors using the kitchen ceiling light. Works that way also. I keep it wrapped in tissue paper and stored in a duct tape reinforced RPM 5 chewing gum pack. perfect fit.

Small, light, I use it as a safety signaling device in my backpack when climbing or ski touring. I also use it attached to my PFD together with a strobe light and an emergency whistle for long distance high wind windsurfing.

I originally bought the larger ACR HotShot mirror because I didn't think a diminutive 2x3" mirror would be bright enough to do its job. Well, long story short, while the HotShot is almost an inch bigger each direction, the surface of the acrylic coating is wavy and uneven. At just 3 feet, the distortion is horrible. That means lots of light sent off at random angles instead of at your target. The StarFlash, on the other hand, has a bright, crisp image. The reflected light actually goes where you aim it. So even though it's a tiny little thing, it's significantly brighter than the HotShot, throwing an image that rivals a glass mirror. Not to mention that it's a full ounce lighter than the HotShot. (See my customer image for side-by-side comparisons of the reflected images.) I have read complaints that it scratches easily. No big deal. I just grabbed an extra cloth for cleaning glasses, put a hem around it, and made a little pouch. The mirror pulls out bright and clean every time.

I like things that make light even shinier gizmo doesn’t like the bright light though☹️

Good small mirror I put in my backpack on the go! I have not gotten a chance to use it as I don't look at my self when I go to the outdoors. But it does not take any room and it has a good instruction for survival situations!

This is easy to use to direct the light where you want it. Its very light too. I was going to keep it in my survival kit that i keep in my car or backpacking gear but its so nice and lightweight that I'm going to keep it in my purse and use it as a hand mirror too. Now I can make sure I look good before that hot rescue guy sees my distress signal and comes to save me. Ha!

Even though the instructions don't seem to makes sense, once you follow the instructions with the mirror, it makes sense and works. It does scratch easy, but is light, compact and a great backup for signalling in an emergency.

Fantastic product! My wife stood 100 yards away and reflected the sunlight from this mirror at me. It was like an explosion of light that was absolutely blinding. There is no doubt it could be seen miles away. It is a must for hiking, a bug out bag or just having fun!
