I have a wood burner insert in my fireplace which has a small space from the hearth to the underside of unit. Well, I was wondering why geckos and crawling insects were getting in my "well sealed" home. I even have window screening cut to cover any air vents to block critters. I have OCD when it comes to insects living with me. The seller/company told me to use #4 for that purpose. I love geckos and if I see one of these wonderful creatures, I gently move them in a box and place them outdoors. I finally figured out that they were getting in from climbing into the outdoor chimney that leads to the fireplace and underside of the wood burner insert! Problem solved with these #4 Steel Wool Pads. I tucked them under the insert where the 1/4" space was and no more critters! I think pest control companies that charge an arm and a leg to inspect for problems would never realize that this could be the area of entry. Sorry critters, no more welcome signs, but I am saving your lives you know! I highly recommend these, and the cost is low.

Upon the suggestion of an experienced plumber, I ordered the 0000 super fine grit Steel Wool to clean and polish copper pipe. It enables me to remove the imperfections from the pipe without scratching up the copper. I use it with vinegar and salt to clean the really dirty pipe and fittings as well as Brasso to perform the final cleaning and polish. I also used it to successfully clean my $400 Ruffoni copper pan. It was extremely tarnished from years of use and I had actually retired it for quite some time as I had been hestitant on using anything to clean it due to concern of ruining it.

I use this to clean my clear shower doors. Even though we squeegee them after every shower, there is still build up on the doors. This very fine steel wool combined with rain-ex glass cleaner does the trick. The doors look like new!

Good product at a good price. I used this to plug up holes outside along my crawlspace. mice and squirrels cents chew through the steel. Be sure to wear gloves and even eye protection when handling because when you start pulling apart the wool it does shed.

I bought this wool to get rid of some rust on my shotgun barrel and it worked like magic. I love this stuff and even keep some in my get home/bug out bag if I ever need to start a fire with it. The pack comes with plenty of wool too, you won't be disappointed.

Works as expected. There are many uses for steel wool, but I purchased solely for the purpose of cleaning the chrome on my truck as well as the windows. 0000 steel wool is the finest you can get and won't scratch the chrome or glass. It made all of my chrome look new again. I also used it to clean our stainless steel kitchen sink and it made it like new again. I will be buying more for sure. BTW, I only used water while using the steel wool, no chemicals used whatsoever. Hope this review helps you.

I used this on my cabinets after washing them with Murphy's Oil Soap, and wiping them down with mineral spirits to remove built up grime, grease and cigarette smoke. In conjunction with Howard's Bees wax and carnauba wax emulsion, The finish is smoother, cleaner and has a wonderful depth and luster the cabinets probably never had.

I knew my jewelry polisher had many uses, used for a couple wood projects, some of my friends like to light it on fire (which is cool the first time, but I learned to hide it so it didn't all go up in smoke) and also stuff mice holes to politely tell those little mice friends to stay out. Learn something new everyday -thanks Dad Seem to run out of this stuff a lot haha

Great for scrubbing metal and also having some fun at night lol. I mean it's steel wool it is what it is but this was fast cheap and got the job done.

I bought these for polishing some scratches out of my windshield. When used prior to cerium, they do a nice job cleaning up hard water spots and wiper grooves. They have lots of other uses too. These are almost soft but don't let that fool you. They are a fine abrasive that won't create more problems than you started with.
