Worked as expected
Worked as expected. Three comments. 1. Directions say to protect non-fabric surfaces from overspray. Photos show how I did it with some trash bags and blue tape. There may be better ways. 2. For protecting the front and back seats of a 2014 Prius 3, one can is NOT enough. Luckily I ordered 2 cans. Even that was not enough to apply much of a second coat as directed. 3. In many cars there is much more exposed fabric in the back. There is less in front due to the dashboard. Start with the places that are most likely to get soiled or stained. The blue painter's tape did not mark or leave residue on the glass or the paint.

Superior Interior Protection
When this arrived, I read the instructions on the can and was hesitant to put this in my new car's interior. However, after deliberation, I carefully followed the instructions. First, I read my manual and inspected the interior fabric. There was no "X" anywhere to be found on the fabric. Second, sprayed a very small area on the bottom inner layer of front passenger seat and rubbed vigorously to test for fabric discoloration. No discoloration! So I sprayed in two coats over the carpets and fabric seats of my vehicle. The smell is overwhelming so I opened the windows, per the instructions. I sprayed the first coat, waited thirty minutes, and then sprayed the second coat. And that basically used up the bottle for my 2015 Subaru Forester. It made a big difference. While there was no noticeable color change, water just beads up and wipes off the seats and carpets. Limited to no absorption of liquid after spraying. So glad I gave it a try! My Subaru dealer had a similar product but wanted several hundred dollars for it. This was $10!

Definitely repels liquids....
I've used Scotchgard Fabric Protector on 5 or 6 new fabric car seats over the years. Its obviously challenging to actually measure the product's ability to fight stains on a car seat overtime but I certainly feel like it does. Nonetheless, I did try one simple test. I sprayed an ordinary paper towel with Scotchgard, let it dry, then poured some cola on the towel. It was pretty amazing how the cola did not penetrate the towel - at all ! See picture.

Odor and overspray?
Odor? 'tried this first on the stock carpeted front floor mats which I won't be using since I have the custom fitted ones. One mat had one coat, the other 2 coats. 24 hrs later, the one-coat mat had none or undiscernible odor and dry to the touch. The 2 coated one smelled like petroleum and was still oily. I resprayed another coat to the other mat after 24 hrs. Still no odor and dry the following day. And on I sprayed the entire carpet floor and seat fabrics a coat a day. Overspray woes? For me, the guy who covered his entire interior trims w/ plastic was overkill. I just carried a soap damped sponge and wiped off any overspray. I missed over sprayed spots but there was really no harm at all after wiping them off a few days later. But if you're really that concern, just wipe your vinyl, plastic, leather, or rubber trims first with a protectant.

Easy to use, seems effective
Easy to apply, wasn't too smelly during application, did not affect the look of the car fabric, and dried quickly. Followed the directions precisely and was able to spray two thin layers across the front seats and front floor mats of my SUV before the can ran out. You probably need 2-3 cans to spray the entire interior of a midsized car. Bought my car recently and this seemed like a cheap and easy way to add some protection to the interior.

Five stars
Sprayed this on the upholstery for my Mazda CX 5 black upholstery. The white rag test came back with color, so I was a little worried about spraying it on, but the second test in another spot came up clean. I sprayed it on, and no discoloration to black fabric seats. No spills yet, but I'm sure it will work great. There was enough for two applications and a 1/4 left over in can.

It works
I purchased this out of pure desperation. I purchased a vehicle with light cloth seats that easy stains... even with water. Through my research, I found this. I applied this on clean seats four months ago and I havent seen any staining. I workout sometimes at the gym and I sweat every where. My driver seat is free of sweat stains. My daughter spilled water a month after applying the product and there wasn't a stain. I am happy with this product and will reapply soon to continue the protection.

wax on, wax off
Applied easily and the next day I spilled pop on it by accident. It just beaded up on the surface and I used a napkin to wipe it up like it never happened. I over sprayed on glass and plastic but was able to use a terry cloth and some alcohol based window cleaner to remove with some elbow grease. *edit* a few days after application I spilled a coke on the treated fabric. While not being something that would stain a grey fabric the liquid beaded up like fresh car wax and was able to be wiped up immediately with a napkin. Very impressive.

Works!
New pre-owned car with mint condition light tan interior, I put 2 costs of this stuff on asap. Very first family trip in the car, I allowed my wife to bring her coffee. After a swig that went down the wrong pipe, she blew coffee over passenger front seat. We only had wet sanitizer towels to clean up, but it did the trick. I'm glad she's ok, but this stuff did the job! No harm, no foul!

Does it's job. You will need to reapply every 3-5 months.
It does it's job. Do you know that the instructions say that you will need to reapply it every so often depending on the wear where you have applied it. If you buy this knowing that this is one of the conditions of this product, then you are getting what you paid for.
